Forsaken Chimaeras are believed to be horrible monsters, but in truth are quite submissive, even pathetic. They live in isolation, abandoned by their mothers shorly after being weaned, and will shy away from physical contact. If you can earn the trust of one of these boar-hyena-impala-snake amalgms, they can become very clingy and desperate for attention.
Many cultures have stories pertaining to the Forsaken Chimaera, usually portraying it as a tragic figure. The Elfs that they were once a proud and beautiful race, perhaps a kind of unicorn, that was placed under a curse millennia ago, and they have searched for redemption ever since. The Humans of Patria say an individual Chimaera once committed a terrible crime against the Human race, and was condemned to life on Maligo, the evil island, for the rest of eternity.
Every Chimaera story seems to have a common theme- the Forsaken Chimaeras are not demonic, simply damned.
