The 'primal' in 'Primal Naga' refers to their relationship with the Superior Nagas, who appear human from the waist-up and have human intelligence. Primal Naga intelligence can be equated to that of a chimpanzee. They have a very loose social structure, but are rarely seen using tools or language, two things that would distinguish them from other animals.
Primals tend to be slightly smaller Superior nagas, measuring about five feet from nose to tail. They feed on deer, or goats when they're lucky. Both their jaws and ribcages can be dislocated painlessly to allow them to swallow their prey whole.
When a trainer has serious patience and unwavering dedication, Primals can be taught to do simple tasks like sweep with a broom or hammer a nail. However, they need constant supervision, and any negative stimuli can make them go berserk and reject all authority. The few Primals kept in domestication are usually a part of very expensive circus acts.
