But anyway, has anyone noticed that the Earth King has not earthbend anything the past few episodes.
I Mean, he's the Earth King! xd
I'm starting to feel as though Bosco has magical powers. whee

So, Discuss above. Well as for the Earth King not bending it says, on Wikipedia, that bending has something to do with genetics, and spirtuality. Like in the Aunt Wu episode with the twins, one can Earthbend, while the other can not. I'm mean who is to say that his genetics are correct for Earthbending, or that he is spiritual enough. The Earth King reminds me of a little boy who does hardly know anything about anything.

It's possible that he might have Earth-bending capabilities, but has never been taught how he could use them...

I like that genetics theory, Like in a fanfic I read, with the two twins, apparently when theres a pari of twins, one can always bend, and the other cant, while if two benders procreate: You got it, a bending baby, but if the offspring of a bender and a non bender procreate, and on the 50% Chance that the child cannot produce offspring, she/he will never produce bending offspring. It was an interesting little fanfic, everythin about it was great: Even the Zutara...

There was some insight on bending in the different nations at a conference not long ago: "A bit also came up about the percentage of benders per nation. According to them, each nation has a different percentage of benders, but the Air Nomads had 100% benders, due to them being more spiritual; civilization reduces spirituality. " http://www.avatarspirit.net/con_reports.php?id=2So the Earth Kingdom and Fire Nations are the most advanced civilizations. Their concentrations of benders are smaller. I have a feeling the Fire Nation, being smaller, has more benders (percent) than the Earth Kingdom. They also seem slightly more spiritual. The Southern Water Tribe only saw Kitara as the bender (no mention of the men being benders, as Sokka and many others seemed to believe it was "magic") because they were more focused on survival than spirituality. The Northern Water Tribe saw many more benders not only because they are more spiritual and less advanced, but probably because the closeness of the Moon and Ocean Spirits.

I think the Earth King was only a puppet, well it says that in one episode. Long Feng did all the bending and work I'm assuming.
It is possible that he CAN earthbend, just never had the need to.
