In some games the plot, characters or locations are based on real life things. Some things are flat out references, while others are allegories or retelling. Ever noticed these things? I'm not talking about games actually set back in time or stuff like rocket ships. I'm talking about things like the role Real life Alchemy and Lemuria play in Golden Sun. Or Rasputin being an enemy in a few games. For fun you can make up bogus theory as long as they make a little bit of sense. Once a week I'll also post my own bogus theory you can post evidence or theories that support it.

I probably didn't clarify myself. I wrote the topic in about two minutes due to time constraints. Once a week a will post some ridicolous or half baked RPG related reference or theory. The person who gives the most convincing evidence or support to the topic will get some sort of prize.
I came up with it because I figured their wouldn't be much discussion about the little real world references that exist so I made that to increase activity and discussion.
How I came up with it? I don't know really I started thinking about the seven deadly sins for som reason then I just tried to think of a game with 7 playabe characters and that was the only one I could think of.

Well let's have a go at it =P
Gluttony = Auron
"Modern views identify Gluttony as being associated with an overindulgence of food and drink"
Well, lets just say this goes with Auron. He constatnly carries around his jug, filled with whoknowswhat.
"Marked by a refusal to share resources and unreasonable or unnecessary consumption, Gluttony could also include certain forms of destructive behaviour, especially for sport, for example substance abuse"
Destructive Behavior!!! Come on, he uses his Ale to buff up his Overdrives!!
Sloth = Kimahri
"It has been characterized as what modern thinkers would describe as apathy, depression, and joylessness"
Well he hardly ever shows any emotion (except when you meet the other Ronsos). And hardly ever talks to reveal any feeling and is portrayed as completely apatheic.
Greed = Rikku
Come on, she uses Steal for God's Sake. She will even take the time to Open a chest during battle, rather than help out her fwllow teammates =P.
Wrath = Lulu
Wrath is considered to be "Inappropriate feelings of hatred and anger"
Throughout the story, Lulu reveals a few mild outbursts towards, not only the opponents but her fellow allies as well. (and if her attitude didn't tip you off, minus well talk about her outfit >.<)
Anyways, further "theortical" proof lies in her Overdrive. "Fury"!
Envy = Wakka
Wakka is one of those characters that seem be a bit extravagant in his manner. He tends to profress some of his jealousy (envy) for the various postive attributes in others, such as Tidus' ability in Blitzball.
Lust = Tidus
"Lust is best described as depraved thought, unwholesome morality, desire for excitement, or need to be accepted or recognized by others."
Besides the oh so lovey dovery Lake scene with Yuna...... he shows his eagerness to be show offy, in order to get attention from everyone as well as his courageousness to show his desire to "save" Yuna. *cough*
Pride = Yuna
While Yuna is often times very humble and attached to others, she does display an aspect of Pride.
Many times, she reminds herself of how "important" she is to saving the world from Sin.
Further evidence lies in the Wedding scene, where she believes that she can go ahead and "Send" Seymour herself, without the help of the others.
(Okay this was all skimpy... But not like it's really true... Or is it ^^)

My rationing to it is
Tidus=Sloth
He's just a real lazy, come on guys, lets relax a little bit.
Yuna=Lust
She's is all sorts of hot for Tidus and wants him sooooo bad.
Lulu=Envy
We all know that Tidus looks like Chappu. She's got to be jealous of everyone with a lover, and expecially Yuna. Her bitterness really shows how much she hates what others have what she doesn't
Wakka=gluttony
He likes to indulge in pleasure. Blitzball and what not.
Kimahri=Pride
I mean come on. the Ronso's are a proud race. They take great pride in their horns. He's all emo cause he doesn't have his.
Auron=Wrath
He's just an angry type of guy.
Rikku=Greed
She's a thief, not a whole lot of logical involved there.

Real world stuff? Eh, I dunno if this counts, but Biggs and Wedge from various Square games. Kind of a rip off of Star Wars.
