'He's not in here',my mind continued to think in a repetative sequence.Slowly I turned the ebony handle and stepped inside.What I discovered was at the very least...disturbing. My first intuition was to run away from this undesirable scene, yet one look in Edgar's eyes told me that it was unloyal just to contemplate this option.The room was as dark and desolate as I had imagined.The only being in the room was Edgar and he sat there with wide empty eyes staring into my own.I began to panic as the moment of silence continued on and as an immediate and involuntary reaction , I rushed to his side and held his wrist firmly in my sweaty palms.
He was as cold as ice yet I could still feel a faint pulse.He was still alive! I looked him over and stared at him concentrating on his face. He blinked only once.If I hadn't found a pulse on him ,judging by the appearence he currently presented, I would have declared him dead right then and there.His black hair,once naturaly hanging long and limp hiding his deep copper eyes, now shaggy and tangled as if someone had taken a thick wad of his hair and twisted it around his finger and yanked it so it all bunched together over his newly pale blue eyes.I pulled him to his feet when he was suddenly conscious of my presence.He stood up straight and looked back at me with his eyes back to their original coppery sheen.He looked slightly out of place as he began looking around the room confused and disoriented.I smiled at him and took his hand.From there , I calmly explained the previous events that he seemed to have forgotten so suddenly.It was like he was in a trance...
After...I looked at him and he returned my gaze along with a pleasant dazed smile.I sighed and took his other hand.Edgar was in a state where anything I said to him now, wouldn't occur to him till tomorrow morning.
We walked the rest of the way home that night...silently...but not alone...
