Welcome to the Quidditch Field!!! Here is where all of the broomstick action is held!!!
RULES
exclaim No player may knock another player off of his or her broomstick, or ten points will be deducted from the team who cause the penalty.
exclaim Players must stay off the ground until the end of the game. If a player touches the ground before the snitch is caught, that player's team automatically forfeits the game and the opposite team wins.
exclaim No player may stray over the boundary lines of the pitch. Doing so will cause a five point deduction from their team.
exclaim The quaffle may be taken from another person's grasp but under no circumstances may one player seize hold of a part of another persons' anatomy.
exclaim Wands MAY NOT be used against opposing team members, opposing team member's broom, referee, any of the balls, or any player on the crowd. Wands may be carried out for defense mechanisms. Example: Harry Potter and the dementors while he was playing quidditch.
exclaim The game ends when the snitch is caught, or by consent of the team captains.
exclaim If one teams members don't show up for the match, at all, their team forfeits and the other team wins.
exclaim The seeker may only 'catch' the snitch after fifteen players posts are put up. Meaning if i or someone who is not a player posts in here, their post does not count.
exclaim To identify one team from another: Gryffindor will have to use dark red font; Slytherin will use green font;Ravenclaw will use dark blue font, and Hufflepuff will use black font. This is so we don't get the players confused. It isn't enough to put up their names, some people don't know who their teammates are and honestly, neither do i at the top of my head.
exclaim Only those on the quidditch team list of their house may play. Meaning if you signed up for the team, and your name is not on the list YOU CANT PLAY.
BALLS
The four balls are listed below:
The two bludgers-Purpose: to hit any player closest them. Can be hit by magically-reinforced bats, and nothing else. Can hit any player except the keeper.
The quaffle-Purpose: scoring. Can be thrown to one player or another, takes three team consecutive posts without interference to score, cannot be scored by a keeper, seeker or beater. Meaning the quaffle has to be played by the same team in threee posts before the other team members interfere. How the quaffle gets through: Before the keeper posts that he or she has caught it before it passes through, one of the chasers must post SCORE before the keeper posts SAVE. The referee, not a head of house, then decides ((meaning calls)) the pitch. If the call is a score, both teams have to start over from the toss of the quaffle, but if the call is a save, the opposing team gets the quaffle and the scoring team starts over again, no points awarded.
The golden snitch-Purpose: end of game, extra 150 points. A small gold ball that zooms throughout the stadium when released, hard to catch, can only be caught by a seeker.
