Ok firstly sorry if this is in the wrong place i couldnt find any other place to put the thread.

Ok this sequal to FFVII in my personal opinion is very very good, the first FF title to be a mix of RPG and Third person shooter. The story line continues on from FFVII and FFVII:AC really well. The graphics in game are some of the best I have seen around and the fighting and action is also very good and can be very challenging on the harder difficulty settings. The cutscenes boost graphics on level with FFVII:AC which just makes the game even more enjoyable to play. Also after you have completed the game there is a bonus feature of playing extra missions which have nothing to do with the main story line and there lots of these, so even after you have completed the main game it still gives you lot to do.

There are only 3 major things I can say are wrong with this game. The first being that compared to other FF games it is very short and to a skilled gamer would only take about 10-20 hours to complete the game (without completeing the extra missions). The second major thing I can say is that even though the cutscenes are good, the majority of the game is spent watching these scenes and after a while you just want to get on with the game (and for those who have completed the game or get bored of the cutscene you can actually skip the cutscenes but if its your first time through I dont recomend it). The third main thing is that some areas which should be easily jumped or accessed by Vincent cannot be jumped to, this kinda disrupts the flow of the game.

Even with these things its not a bad game, infact I recomend it to any FF fan even if you dont usually play shooting games. The graphics and gameplay are excellent and it is a very enjoyable experience. Over all I would rate it my 4th top FF game and would give it a definant score of 8/10.

For me I wouldn't say DoC is very very good but its still good nevertheless. I do enjoy the graphics and Vincents story but for some reason it kind of seems out of line with the original story line. I dunno why but I guess its cuz I always thought it was over after AC and they needed something to keep FF7 going on. Even the entire underground lab and Vincents coffin home was off o_o I found that lame lol.

It is challengin as you go through all the difficulties. Hojo is annoying as ever, Lucrecia made me hate her even more lol and as Evul said, Vincent shoulda been able to have some more movements T__T how can't he fly in Chaos when he flew in cutscenes? Kinda wish they did more with that.

the graphics were good and I love the custimazation yet the limit break let me down and the camera is aweful but it is a 7.1 in my opinion mainly because of Vincent

I suck at playing the game. Really. I can only hit my target about 26% of the time. This is why I have my brother play it. So far I find the storyline a little strange, but then again we're not that far in it. I do like the cutscenes, but yes they are a litlle long. They're still fun to look at

There is one thing that got me.

In the original FFVII game. Cloud and the gang went and took out Scarlet/Heideigger/Hojo.

But they never showed Scarlet and Heideigger being fought and only Vincent ran onto the sister ray and attempted to take out Hojo in DoC.

Depends on how you made your targeting system in the beginning of the game.

Mine was Semi-Auto, if anyone jumped onto the screen, I can shoot them, might require my to get my crosshair near them but I had a good time with it.

you probably had yours on Manual

Having played and completed DOC.

My Review,
It's a difficult game to master in terms of using the controller to direct attacks. even with Auto Target on. Most especially in the last few Battles. But Yes it is in an FF way a shoot em up. But it is a good game. Unfortunately it doesn't have that much of a replay factor since I completed the whole game in a total gaming time of 14-15 hours. That was on normal mode with Auto targeting and i reached a max level of 30. Although i have not yet tried the bonus section/s.

It is a good game. especially for story telling and Vincent Lovers. Although difficult to play unless your used to that kind of duel manipulation. It enhances the whole FF story. We also see for a short while the rest of the FF7 Team excluding Aeries of course. (spelling is not important).

7.5/10 The only real downside other than the hardness to control the game is that it's so short.

*Spoiler*
I think it's a real shame that the scientist dies. not Lucretsia. (evil spelling) but the one who was looking for her sister. At least her sister survived. and passably more importantly is no longer dependent on Mako which is good. It's also a bit of a shame we don't see Nanaki (Red XIII. AKA Red 13) until the end.

Does that mean Chaos is sealed along with Omega again? Finally I like Yuffie a lot as a character. but why does she keep losing her balance. i thought she would have learnt by now. And Why is she the Heroine? I thought Vincent wasn't that much of a fan of hers?
*End Spoiler*

Nomura was in charge of the game, and he wanted to do something with the hidden characters, so Vincent and Yuffie got slapped together as a team. Overall, he wasn't to sensitive about the origional. He used the characterizations the fans use when they fanfic, not the true ones from VII, which were much more human and kinda made you forget you were in a game.

They did it for money, not for the sake of the story, and it was convienant and alot of people thought Vincent should have been the only one to take Hojo out. They just did whatever would be most convienant for them.

But the story graphics were AMAZING for the PS2. And it was fun to run around and shoot people with Vincnet. But here's my question...

In ShinRa's Dark Secret... why was Vinnie talking to himself???
