Player run businesses that people can visit on Gaia Towns, people actually getting money for a job they sign up for stat gains to change jobs. A luck roll for people who want to be stars in entertainment or something possible a stockmarket. The battle system looks promising but still on site growth seems a better investment. Might get the noob influx with the inclusion of the battle system.

I'm not much of one for speculation about the future... what happens happens, and I'll either enjoy it or not. (:

Mph I think that the growth of the population will bring some rather undesired effects but so long as we don't become like myspace we'll be fine.

That's true. One of the more irksome points is that in trying to make the site better, it's just becoming a suckhole for ____________!

Site become intolerable to use due to influx of new users
New animu message board takes over
Site loses popularity
Site sticks around in a minor way for many years to come

I think it will be ok. Noobs always seem to come in with a new site feature, but they also seem to dwindle away after the initial hype wears off.

Yup, yup. I agree with Tarinsa. Newbs tend to have short attention spans. Once a game or plot gets old, they'll go back to flirting with forty year olds on Myspace. The ones with potential will stay. ^-^

Well yeah you're right about the noobs. Just make it so it takes a long time to gain levels on the battle system and those ******** will disapate. As for everything else though. We need to get things like player owned businesses start an economy that ranges outside of items or make it so you can start a garden of flowers and pick them and then sell them or make a corporation that sells something like...green burgees or something. Make gaia towns something like a very detailed sim city.

Maybe this makes me an elitest... but I think the largest newb influx Gaia will ever experience has already happened... beween one and two years ago there was a population explosion, and site formating changes, etc. That may be warped perception, the other posibility is that Gaian growth is simply exponential and will only increase.

The bright side about the population growth--and the newb disappearance shortly thereafter--is that the servers are better, and go down less. So at least we can be happy about the servers being down less often now.

Heh, less down time that will be awesome and with an influx of people more things will be done, more guilds, guilds might start competing for members if they start limiting us to one guild each.
