The explosion lit up the night as a figure watched from a small speedboat, a safe distance from the flying debris and unwanted attention. Bright blue eyes glared behind digital ops goggles as the two-person demolition crew hit the water.
"Too close for comfort."
The figure hefted a small anchor aboard and started the near-silent engine. His passengers weren't expecting him... but then, neither were their enemies. He'd have to be quick if they were all going to get through the night in one piece.

"One...wo....seven....fourteen....twenty-six?" He counted as the bullets continued to ricochet off the deterioating piller at his back. "A couple of snipers, a few assasins, and the rest probably a bunch of hired thugs...they sure are going through a lot of trouble for this thing." He inspected one of his pouch pockets to make sure that the item was still secure and undamaged while still surveying the area. "Sier...Sier?" The only response he received was a wave of static through his transciver nestled in his left ear. "...She must be a bit busy. Guess I'll have to rock the house myself!"
The exit was clear in view except it was clear on the other side of the warehouse with a lot of wide open space and gun toating cronies waiting to pick him off if he was crazy enough to try...which he might have been but he promised his girl that he wouldn't be reckless....today. Reaching into one of his pouch pockets, Kobaar pulled out a few marble type spheres which looked like they contained some sort of glowing liquid and another one about the size of an orange with plates of silver and some sort of greeen core.
"This may be a weee bit overkill but I don't have time to play around today." The gunfire ceased momentarily as the warehouse was filled with silence broken up by the sound of falling debris. This being a more than opertune moment, Kobaar proceeded to throw the spheres across the room, scattering them across the rubble but leaving the larger one for later. Upon impact the tiny spheres each shattered and then exploded like a wave of grenades sending a cloud of dust and dirt across the room. The gunmen above could only see a see of brown clouds with a dark figure zooming through crashing into another living obstruction with a flaming crash. After manuverning through with sparks of gunfire nipping at his heals Kobaar finally reached the exit emerging from the clouded entryway without slowing. Shortly after passing the doorway he tossed the larger sphere back from where he came and continued his escape.
"Sier!! If you can hear me, now would be a GREAT time to get out of..." Looking up towards the rooftop he could see the siluete of a female figure already widening the gap between her and the warehouse. "...That girl knows me way too well." He grinned As he contnued to run further from the building in the near distance. It then started with a soft rumble like distant thunder rolling into a loud explosion as the warehouse erupted with green fire bringing it crashing down. "Tic...tic...BOOM!"

The second explosion rang in the boat pilot's ears as he neared his targets. He sighed impatiently. All these fireworks were bound to draw some attention. It was best to get everyone out immediately. As he neared the two figures in the water, the man cut the engine and leaned over the side. There was no time for diplomacy here...
"It'll help if you don't struggle so much. I'm a friend." Even as he spoke the words & dragged the woman from the water, he knew that wasn't going to be enough of an explanation to satisfy them... but it would have to do until they were out of sight. He finally managed to drop them both, protesting and startled, into the boat. Unfortunately, they did not look happy. "Figures," he thought.

"...He's so haphazard sometimes..I don't know what I'm going to do with that man." She leapt from building to building as if skipping playfully across the stones of a calm river. Upon reaching the edge of one of the buildings she slowed her pace enough just before leaping over it's edge into the alleyway below. Extending her arm outward towards one of the walls a metal dart launched itself from underneeth her crimson sleeve anchoring itself iinto it with a thin translucent wire still attatched. As she fell the slack taunted and her speedy trip downward turned into a slow decent as she lowered herself via the wire mechanism installed in her wrist guard. Shortly after her feet touched the ground Kobaar rounded the corner slightly winded and very dirty.
"I can't beleive you used an E-39 in there."Sierra stormed towards the dirty elf, and if looks could kill Kobaar would be shaking hands with the reaper right now. "...it's bad enough that those things aren't cheap to come by, but we're lucky it was only THAT building that came crashing down, and...e-gads you're bleeding too?" Seirra let out a heavy sigh and reached for her medi pac to administer first aid on his wounded shoulder. "And don't give me any of that 'It's only a flesh wound.' talk...SOMEONE's got to keep you from going overboard and killing yourself after all."

"Ha! I guess I did overdo it just a lill bit." Sierra grumbled to herself as she prepared the gauze and bandages for his shoulder. "Well..at least this thing is ok...but the wierd thing is, I heard another explosion somewhere across town..sounds like it was near the docks. I wonder just what the hell is goin...OW! WAtchit!!"

Of course, thought the man in the goggles. Rescue a couple of folks from an explosion, and they point guns at your head.
"Talk." the woman's accomplice demanded.
"I said I was a friend." The man sighed. This was going to be like pulling teeth. He pulled off the goggles & dropped them in the passenger seat. As an afterthought, he peeled back the hood of his wetsuit to give his passengers a clear view. Long white hair cascaded over pointed ears and in front of ice-blue eyes that seemed as deep as the sea that had so recently threatened to swallow the pair.
"Listen to me. We have to move before reinforcements - or authorities - show up. My name's Winter; that much will have to do for now. I'll explain everything once we're away from this place." He looked at the woman and swallowed hard. She looked so much like... Winter shook his head. No, he thought. She's gone. Isn't she...?

Myth flipped the safties on her guns. "This is not the time for bullshit games." Her face was as hard as her voice. "I won't hesitate to kill you. After tonight, one more isn't anything special."
"Either step aside or jump out. We're comendiering (sp?) your boat." Mathael Motioned his gun to the side.
Myth didn't even blink as she stared at the man. She caught his eyes and held them. Why was he looking at her like that. Chills crawled down her spine and her shoulders burned. She could feel blood or water or both trickling down her body. 'His eyes,' she thought, 'I'll shoot his eyes out first.'

Winter raised a snowy eyebrow. "You'll shoot me? AND take my boat? I don't think that's a good idea." He raised his hands, held them out palms up. The guns appeared so quickly, it's as if they materialized out of thin air. The uncomprehending stares spoke volumes. "I am here to help you. If you want this to be a 'whose is bigger' contest, be my guest. I warn you, however, that if you waste any more of my time, she could very well bleed to death, and you will be choking on gold-infused .44 rounds." After a brief pause with no gunshots, he continued. "I will put away my guns, start this boat, and take you to safety. There, we will tend to your wounds and I will explain to you how I knew you would be here on Strider business, at this time, on this night. After you have heard what I have to say, you can decided on the next course of action. Deal?"

"I'm not worried about whose bigger." she said with a sly, sarchastic smile. In one fluid movement Myth had one of the guns sheathed, a sword drawn and its tip not even an inch from his chest. "You shoot, I tense and pull my trigger. I might be dead, but I'll damned if I'm gonna go alone. And what with my favorite bulldog here," she shrugged, "Well, it's been a long night already, and he gets cranky when he's tired." Myths face was stone again and a thin line of frost fell from her lips. "Move." she said coldly.

I'm just a wee bit more concerned about your well being at this point Koh." She continued bandaging "And this wound is starting to worry me...this patchwork will only be temporary until i can find something to mend it bett..."
A squalking noise buzzed through the com unit in her ear piece as a voice signal patched through. "Sierra? Good I think the lines are clear again...status report."
"Sorry T'her, there was a bit of interfearance with all of the explosions and all..." She looked coldly back towards the bandaged dark elf as he inocently turned his head to the sky whistling.
"Explosions? This was supposed to be a sort of covert opperation and there were explosions?!"
"I'll....just explain it later, the but the item is secure so we'll be heading back soon...Sierra out." Gently tapping her ear, the com unit fell silent. "More paperwork..." She sighed to herself as she massaged her temples

Winter genuinely smiled as he put away the pistols. She was definitely the spitting image of someone he knew. "You drive a hard bargain, miss," he said as he leaned back and 'accidentally' pressed the ignition. The boat hummed to life and, as he had taken the precaution to leave it in gear, lurched forward and sped along the waves. The consequential jolt thrust the woman, her companion, and the blade forward simultaneously. With a fluid motion, the man called Winter leaned with the sword, letting the flat of the blade slide smoothly along the chest of his wetsuit.
The stranger brushed a few silver strands out of his eyes and turned to man the wheel. "Things sure haven't changed much since Myth's Striders," he muttered into the wind, his own musings making themselves heard.

As Myth fell forward the man caught her sword and it slid along his body, but Myth guided it cleanly between his toes... just so maybe he catch on. Seconds later her elbow caught Winter full in the face. As he fell back she pulled her sword and rested it on her shoulder as she leaned back, cutting the ignition. She smiled as Mathael caught the man and shoved him to the back of the boat. "Now, this is the part where you sit your a** down, Mathael takes your weapons, and you," she leaned forward, "Don't ******** move. You must be mad if you really think, that after that," she morioned to the shore, "We would just allow you to take us where you please, with no explanation." Thier pickup still hadn't been seen and her D.A.R unit was still not working, and this guy was getting on her nerves. As Myth leaned back she flipped her sword along her forearm and shoved it through the gear shift. Next she took her gun and put a bullet through Winters hand. "I warned you once, now I'm done dicking around," she shot him in the shoulder, "Sharks might come come this close to the docks very often, but you, bleeding, and in the water will get them here fast enough." Pure malice filled her eyes and frost billowed from her lips. "Who do you work for?"

The frost-haired man chuckled as he inspected his hand. "Quinn won't like you shooting up his boat... and I'm independant. Safer for you that way. After all, we don't want the leak getting wind of Quinn's special operation, do we?" He held up the wounded hand and it healed in front of their eyes. "And please don't shoot me again, you'll need the ammo and I'd like my wardrobe intact." He frowned as he fingered the hole in his wetsuit, the formerly wounded flesh beneath as smooth and unmarred as if the bullet had never hit.
He cocked his head as if listening for a moment, then said, "I don't suppose you ordered a helicopter?"
