Apparently my old thread got deleted somehow; annoying, but that can be dealt with. Here's the new one, with all the currently growing pups shown   Faryn is the third pup in the litter, and of the four she's the most like her mother in appearance. Sweet and loveable but also wily and intelligent, Faryn is very close to her older sister Boleyn and is a major aid in the collection of gossip and news for Boleyn's newspaper. While not quite as mercenary as her sister, Faryn is a firm believer in the "free exchange of information", so she makes the most of every opportunity to collect on that information. She's not a gossip, though, and although she always has her ears open, her mouth is usually closed.  Katya here is the oldest pup in her litter of four (four daughters, even! The female genes must run very strongly in this family, as her mother was one of a litter of five females!), but no one could ever truthfully accuse her of being bossy or authoritarian since she's...well, a scatterbrain. Although a kind and sweet nikko, Katya is one of those nikkos who would forget her head if it wasn't attached to her shoulders; she needs a datebook to keep track of all that she needs to remember, and that datebook is attached by a chain to the backpack that she always wears. But she does try, and she's making headway in remembering things day by day...  The youngest pup in her litter, Cleves is very much unlike her two immeadiatly older sisters, Faryn and Boleyn. Mild-mannered and polite, Cleves abhors gossip in all it's stages, and consequently plays no role in the "collection of information" for Boleyn's newspaper, although she does help out with a column of manners and poise. She's closest to her older sister Katya, and the two of them can often be found together; Cleves reminds Katya to bring her backpack, and helps her remember more important things, like where she put her lunch and the like. A good partnership, really...  Boleyn is the second pup in the litter, and nearly the polar opposite of Katya. Crafty and intelligent, proud and very self-assured, Boleyn has a mind for detail, and follows every event in the lodge and pack with keen attention. In fact, she's so fond of details and gossip and news that she has her own minu newspaper that she circulates amongst the pack; a businesswoman and opportunist, she's never one to leave a niche of opportunity open for long. In spite of all this, one mustn't think that she's totally mercenary, by any means; she's very much a loyalist, be it family, friends...or the occassional other.

Man, I definitly need to update my official page...
Things to do:
~Move grown nikkos to their proper page/section
~Update all profiles in need of updating (grown pups or new parents or whatever)
~Finish Nikko Number page updates~
-Update the numbers of babies-adults
-Correct the family tree errors
-Edit the breeding line-up to seperate mated couples I'm desirous of breeding from those that I'm not (the majority of those couples fall into the not)
-Figure out exactly which couples I'm still interested in breeding, anyway
-Figure out what kind of criteria or whatever I want to have for forming matings/determining breedings in the future

Recent nikko news
Well, it's been a long time since I've actually written notes in here...in fact, the last time would probably be in my old nikko notes thread, which I'm still pissed at myselffor accidentaly deleting >< But enough lamenting, on to the notes:
As was mentioned in the past few posts, there has been a lot of new blood coming in to our pack, and a decent amount of growth. And as might be expected with all this change and whatnot going on, there's been a lot of stuff going on within the pack...
Phoenix Fire Forms: Always a good idea to start small, right? And there aren't many that are smaller than our newest little pups, phoenix fire form twins Santia and Rinaldo (who is called Luke; if you don't understand the reference, I suggest you read the chronicles of Amber, by Roger Zelazney). Although phoenixes, they do not have the healing gifts of normal phoenixes; instead, the are teh embodiment of the phoenixes fire powers. They can turn into fireballs, basically; but at the moment...they sleep all the time. Not very exciting. But hey, they're babies.
Morphs: Things have been nice and busy in the morph arena, lately, in pretty much every pack that has them. So it should be of no surprise that they've been busy here, as well. Probably the most noticable thing is that our three growing morph children have grown from baby to teen;
Dashiell is almost as tall as his "mother" Cyliez now, and is exhibiting a keen grasp of the nikko social structure; he's accompanied Cupid to the lodge on several occassions to observe and get a feel for the place; if one is to be working with love, then one must at least feel at ease around other nikkos. While not the most outgoing, Dash is truly fond of being amidst others, and derives a great interest from them. Like his sister Tanith, he can speak both verbally and telepatically, although he prefers verbal speech as a rule. He's very fond of his parents, and although he might not always appear so, is fiercely protective of his sister Tanith, who he calls Tanny. Overall, he's pretty easy-going and rational about things...just don't tease him about his heart!
Caritas and Elske, Trenzet and Mercedes' twins, have also reached the teen stage, but while as children they behaved nearly identically, teenhood has shown just how diverse they are. Caritas is totally her parents' child; rambunctious, energetic, and out-going, she adores talking, meeting new nikkos, being the center of attention, and generally living it up. She moves along at high speeds all the time, has the patience of a gnat, and has no idea what tact is, but she's good-natured and friendly, unintentional in most insults, and fast to try to remedy any uneasiness or whatnot that she might have caused. Elske, on the other hand, is a sedate, shy, and very quiet nikko; she's cautious and careful in social situations, hates causing a fuss, and really hates being looked at. She tends to stay close to her parents, and has feelings of awe and envy for her twin. She idolizes their adopted older sister Dyna, and does her best to emulate the kitterfly's behaviors.
The teens aren't the only ones that have been changing as of late...
Since settling down, a lot of things have changed for our resident love god, Cupid. His easy-going and friendly demeanor hasn't changed, nor has his love for his work diminshed, but he's softened slightly; he's still head over heels in love with his hummingbird mate Cyliez, and now that they have children he tries to spend even more time around their home. A doting but stern father, Cupid tends to be indulgent with his children Dashiell and Tanith in most things; but parental respect is a must, and there are few things as guaranteed to raise his ire as ignoring either himself or Cyliez when they are talking to the kids. But he truly loves his children, and is already working to instill in them a respect and admiration of love; after all, they are his heirs, as it were. But work and family are more than capably juggled in the hands of this master; as he's commented before, the only casualty is his short hair; keeping it maintained was taking too much time, so he's just been letting it grow.
Of course, part of the reasoning behind Cupid's lack of hair cutting is the fact that the one he's always counted on to cut it simply isn't around very much anymore; that would be Cupid's old friend Meyial, the resident seamstress and, in a pinch, hairdresser. since taking up with Darcia, she's been spending more and more time at the mountain cave with him and the children they look out for (long story) and even less time in her usual haunts. While she still makes clothing, she's harder to find and therefore has been spending her energies at childwatching and helping out Darcia, her mate.
Trenzet is still as much of a goofball as ever, loathing seriousness and upset and doing his best to drive poor Beor to distraction. But age, maturity, and and few difficult situations have calmed this wildcard down a bit; namely, his adopted daughter Dyna. While he's by no means sedate, he's now more than capable of actual serious and rational behavior. In this, he remains as close as ever with his wife, Mercedes; after she came to join our pack, the two of them move into a little house together that they share with Dyna, and now their morph daughters Elske and Caritas (who were a total surprise to their parents). But just because they've given up living with many other nikkos doesn't mean they're antisocial, as anyone who can see them around the lodge almost daily can attest.
Kiba is still working on being social; he doesn't like the crowds any more now than he did when he first arrived, and the fact that he's a morph has done nothing to change that fact. In fact, Kiba is probably the only morph out there who actually dislikes his morph form, prefering to exist in his white wolf nikko form. But he's not a bitter anti-socialite, just a shy one; and he's actually made a few friends around the lodge; Kuro and Noelle.
Of the morphs, pack leader Beor has probably had the least change. As organized, reliable, and awe-inspiring as ever, he still has a finger on every string in the pack, knowing the name, status, and general personality of every nikko in the pack, where they live, and everything else that might be pertinant to keeping the pack running smoothly. An able architect, he's the one chiefly responsible for carrying out the construction on the swarms of new cottages and other buildings needed to house the spreading pack population; after all, most nikkos don't want to share a house with a few hundred others, right? Beor himself still resides in the main house, where he actually has a suite of rooms for his personal use; bedroom, office, workroom, file storage, and general receiving area; as the head of the pack in upkeep, he has a lot to do. In fact, it was only recently that he was prevailed upon to take an assistant, but Nevian has proved invaluable to Beor, especially when it comes to tracking down files and things.

News as of late:
Well, there not a whole lot of exciting stuff going within the pack lately, but even large groups have to have their slow days, right? And even little things are something ^^
To start off, Mirio and Myriad have become mates! Mirio, the oldest son of Frejr and Mira and a handsome rainbow tiger nikko to boot, works regularly as a lifeguard along the riverbank, helping out and instructing younglings in the art of swimming. He met Myriad via his sister Frejira, who is best friends with Myriad's sister Fantasia. Looks like one thing led to another, and now the two of them are happily mated ^^
You phoenix fire form twins Santia and Rinaldo have grown into healthy hearty tots, and are giving their foster parents Dysseus and Jarline a run for their money in terms of sanity. While it's true that both adults adore the rambunctious tots, there's only so much abuse one can take...and so many fires that one can put out! Luckily for them all that Dysseus is a true blue phoenix, healing powers and all...
