Well we all know that this was the one game that convinced squaresoft to keep making the final fantasy games. If FFVII hadn't have took off as well as it did then the whole series was going to be axed as it wasn't bringing in the funds but luckily the game took off better than the thought and that is why today were getting all the newer final fantasy games.

i adore final fantasy vii of course the graphics no more are perfect but the storyline does really make up for that. Plus it has so many minigames which really do bring it to like, gold saucer, breeding chocobos, hunt for weapons, materia, the weapon enemys. So you can see they really thought the game through which was nice.

So what do you like or dislike about the game?

It's a very good game. In terms of Grapics quality it surpasses FFVIII and IX. And the story line is so incredible it makes me feel like i'm part of the game almost because it just draws you in. The way they've structed it with the Materia as well makes it one of the top FF games ever made.

In my eyes, this was the best Final Fantasy game ever made. I loved it, and I was instantly hooked when I played it. Made me buy all the other one's after. I played a few of the older ones but I really didn't like them as much as the ones after. I loved the characters, all but Aeris. She to me was annoying as hell and I was so happy when she did finally die in the game. I used to get bashed a lot when I said that, but I really didn't care. I love Tifa, she's just awesome and Cloud and Barret, and Yuffie, and Cait Sith and Vincent, Cid, Nanaki, they were all awesome. Sephy too was probably the best villian for a FF series too. Anyway, I have rambled on enough. I attained everything in that game, ranging from getting Knights of the Round, you getting Typhoon (Which was annoying...) I also liked fighting all the weapons. Huge challenge with Ruby, but hey, after so many trial and errors I finally beat him. Ok, I'll shut up now. I loved this game, nothing that I really didn't like accept for Areis, or Areith, which ever name you want to call her.

I WAS the proud creator of the "5 reasons why FFVII sucks" thread... but it was deleted, sadly. ;-;

FFVII is my favorite RPG ever, and my favorite in the series.

I honestly dont know why I like it soo much, I think it's because the setting is just 'cool' you know: it was different from the medieval/industral setting, it was something infact I could for some reason relate to, seemed to remember me of modern day life in a few ways, and more of a horrible somewhat realisitic near future [talking about Shinra here.]

I think another reason why I loved it was, I could relate to Cloud soo much, and the other characters minus Aerith were really nicely done, sure the depth wasnt as big due to the older games, but that can be due to a horrible translation.

I also loved the gameplay, although my only complaint is, to die hard RPG fans, this game is a breeze, probably the easiest RPG created, this game could of used a difficulty boost, but they didnt probably to appeal to the casual gamer.

I'm surprised to actually see a familiar face in this guild...

1 comment though, FF7 wasn't so poorly translated to the point where each characters personality changed. The translations were fine, but a couple errors would never get in the way of it. It's mostly the fact the characters are already as boring as ever.

In the original FF7, it was a harder game actually. But when it came to America, they dumbed it down for us.

Syke - yeah the game did pull you right into the storyline you did feel like you were part of the game and when aeris died i felt so sad and the emotion really was brought out in the gamer which isn't something that can be done really easily.

Phillia- i adored nanaki and cid they were such wicked characters, cid for his humour throughout the game and nanaki because i so badly wanted to hug him constantly. Tifa was a pretty good character too, barret was too mouthy, yuffie was such a amusing character she really did bring the humour to the game. I agree with sephy he is the villian everyone remembers, he is one of the best villians if not the best throughout the whole game series.

Neo - i dunno maybe they dumbed down the uk version as well but i prefere playing a game where i can understand the conversations and such. But i do see what you mean but then again when they translate a game lot's of errors are seen throughout it if you have played the first game in another languaga, i guess translating is a cow.

To say you dislike/hate Aeris is so disruptive to the other players who actuly liked her because she is such a key part of the story. Wether or not they dumbed down the game for the American audiance i don't know. not do i really have much care being English. Just as long as the final game version i get is actuly any good. It doesn't stike me at the Best FF but most people believe it is. mind you a lot of people hate FF8 for the oposite reasons they like FF7. I like both but i prefer the graphics of 7 with the story of 8 as a best possable combination.

Yeah syke aerith was a huge part of the storyline if not the whole point of FFVII that is why she is spoken of in advent children. But it all depends on what the gamers want from the game some prefere the battle system of FFVII where as others liked FFVIII.

Ya know, it'd help if you actually LOOKED like you knew what you were talking about before going on and saying it.

Aerith and Aeris are both ENGLISH names, Earisu is her JAPANESE name.

It doesn't take a ******** scientist to figure that out.
