Cradling the quilt-wrapped bundle in her arms, careful not to jostle it, Fyre pushes the door to her one room log cabin open with her foot. Struggling a little with the weight and the awkward size of the egg, she steps carefully inside and lets the door swing shut behind her. She heaves a sigh of relief. "Finally made it home! I thought for a moment there that we wouldn't make it one piece. What a storm outside!" Worried that the egg might have gotten chilled in the wind and wet, Fyre strips the slightly soggy quilt from the green egg and places a hand to the shell. "Still warm, anyway. Let's hope you didn't get damaged." Setting the egg into a well worn depression in her old leather armchair, she stirs up the fire, placing fresh wood on the banked embers. Blowing on them gently, she coaxes the embers into flame and feeds them shavings from her well-stocked tinder box. Finally, the flames are strong enough to catch the larger logs, and Fyre leaves them to do what comes naturally. Stretching the kinks from her back, she stands and walks to a chest at the foot of her bed. Opening it, she removes a soft, thick fleece blanket and turns back to her armchair. Smiling tenderly, she wraps the fleece around the egg. Then, after checking to make certain that her fire-grate is firmly in place, she strips off her wet clothing, climbs into her bed, snuggles beneath her covers, and promptly falls asleep.

Stretching, Fyre yawns, then excitedly hops out of bed. Grinning she walks to the chair, happiness lifting her spirits as she gazes at her egg. A T'ru. She was going to get to raise a T'ru...

Quote: As you listen for a moment you suddenly realize, the new sounds of something cracking must be the egg. You rush over to it to watch, awaiting what will come out. The egg moves a little and slowly cracks open. Little pieces fall here and there as a bit of goo comes from the egg. The shell starts to crack a bit faster as a head starts to poke it’s way out. It makes a little odd noise “trrr.” And looks to you, with it’s half opened eyes. It seems happy and quickly starts to climb out of the egg, as best it can, being at such a young age. After crawling out it, tries to balance itself on all fours, as it tries to reach you. It makes that noise again “trrr” it seems happy and is almost making a purr at the sight of you. It moves a bit more, trying to make it that little extra distance to you. You see it’s effort and scoop it into your arms. It cuddles into you and makes that soft “trrr” noise again. It is content for a moment till it looks around and then starts to make small trilling noises as it awaits you to feed it. You wander off to find some food to feed the little baby. Times will be different with your new T’ru being born.

Hunting in her cupboards for food to feed the littling, Fyre finds a package of seaweed. Sighing, she sets it aside and continues digging. Where did I put that box? I know I put it in here somewhere... "Ah ha!!" Grinning triumphantly, Fyre ducks back out of her pantry, a small box in her arms. "Here we are! T'ru food."
Grabbing the seaweed, she heads back towards her armchair where the baby T'ru sits watching her. After handing Alana a piece of the seaweed to keep her occupied, Fyre opens the box and rummages around inside of it, finally taking out an Aqua Pop and an Uni Cookie. Feeling two tiny paws on her leg, Fyre looks down to see her baby T'ru, a piece of seaweed still dangling from her mouth, eyeing the brightly colored cookie and pop. Picking her littling up gently, after setting the box down, Fyre sits in her overstuffed armchair. Cradling Alana to her, she hands the little one the two foods, first the cookie, then the lollipop.
Alana, worn out from her exertions, falls asleep soon after finishing her food. Careful not to wake her, Fyre stands and sets Alana back onto the chair, tucking the blanket around her. Placing a kiss on her T'ru's head, she turns and exits the cabin, heading out back to splits a few more logs for the fire.

Quote: As time passes by you notice how much your T’ru has grown. You easily remember the times when they were young, but now she’s a Teen. They grow up so fast you almost wonder where the time goes.

Quote: As you rest, dreaming happily. The sweet smells of cinnamon and peppermint seem to waft through the air and the pitter patter of little feet could be heard. With a slight startle you awaken to look about your room. There sitting on your bed is a present. Where it came from you do not know. But there is a small trail of little paw prints (made from chocolate) seem to lead away from the present, disappearing as they lead further away from you. What could be inside you wonder... but it's like a christmas spirit urges you to wait for it to open.

Alana, having awakened at the noise, lets out a huff and pokes her head out from under the covers. Blinking her violet eyes in surprise, she sniffs at the box held in Fyre's arms. Grinning Fyre stands and walks over to the Engleman's Spruce standing next to the fireplace. "What do you think, Alana? Make it the first present under the tree?"
Slightly miffed that Fyre had moved the tempting box away from her, Alana slides out of the bed and walks over to where she is standing. "Trrrr-urrr-rreh?," she says as she stands on her hind legs, bracing herself against Fyre. Reaching a forepaw she tries to knock the lid of the box off, but it is held in place by a ribbon.
Gently reproving, Fyre moves the box away, forcing her T'ru to drop back to all fours. "No, Alana. I'd like to leave it closed... Just until Christmas." Sighing in frustration, Alana turns and begins to sniff at the paw prints on the floor instead. Unable to get a scent from them, other than chocolate and spices, Alana gives up and heads to the kitchen, where Fyre has already started making breakfast.

Having thoroughly enjoyed a Christmas Eve at her family's with Alana, Fyre and her adult T'ru stumble happily into bed. Alana wakes the next morning to a loud scratching noise. Curious to investigate, she leave the still slumbering Fyre in bed and heads to the tree. The mysterious package was moving! Shifting back and forth on her hind legs in indecision, the green T'ru hesitates. Should she open the package or wait for Fyre? The choice is soon made for her as the box tumbled to the side, almost landing in the embers in the fireplace. Acting instinctively, Alana halts its progress, but the ribbon holding it shut melts in two before she can move it to a safer distance. Huffing in relief, she tilts her head to the side looking at the box. The lid was lifting and a small green nose, similar-looking to how her own had looked only a short time ago, pokes out of the gaily wrapped present. Attached to the nose, a head appeared, nudging the box fully opened. A small male T'ru, wrapped in Christmas lights, peered up out of the box at Alana. Wouldn't Fyre be surprised when she woke up?
