i want to know is it okay for a christian girl to know martial arts. iknow were not suppose to be violent. but what if we learn just for fun.

I see no reason why we shouldn't. My parents put me through several different art forms so i'd know how to defend myself, and I strongly suggest anyone going into it. Besides the obvious benefits, many times you learn about teh culture of the country that birthed the art form, as well as making many friends and living a healthier lifestyle.

Se Ga Takai I see no reason why we shouldn't. at the least, martial arts is a fun way to keep active. as long as you're not beating up random people on the street, then there's no problem.

TOTALLY!! hahaha.. martial arts is simply self-defense and discipline. As long as you don't kill anyone or go against anything biblical your fine!

Yeah, i take Karate andthere is nothing in the Bible about not defending yourself. Now if you mess with me and I break your arm and you still don't give eventually i will kill you.

Because I'm certain that no certified instructor would teach those standards. Every Instructor of teh arts I learned taught to walk away when the chance was offered. There is no victory in defeating an already injured opponent.

It's only natural.
That's a grey subject. Some would argue yes. However... I would say it's okay as long as there is no alternative.

Ok, let's look at this...I know we are in the New Testament now, however, how many times were the Israelites told to go attack cities and literally abolish all the inhabitants? Killing in self defense is a natural part of life. God understands that. However I also believe that since Christ we are in an age of grace and we must do all that we can to avoid murder until it can no longer be avoided.
