This is a remote asteroid, located on the outer reaches of the galaxy. It was once rich in metals but was long ago mined out by the Sycara.

The Republic have taken over the mine workings and put them to use as a research facility, experimenting with humans in horrific experiments.

The base has a shield generator, auto turret defences and a garrison of elite troopers 100 strong.

The prison ships landed, disgoring nearly two hundred prisoners onto the station. The mobe was made up of Imperials, Rebels, traitors and even two Jedi taken in the attack on the Temple.

They were the next wave of test subjects for the Republic scientists.

Bentah finished working on the pod. This experiment was the real test of his skills, the test to end all tests. The fate of all lifeforms lay in his hands. He alone had the power to make them immortal and remove all weakness from them.

His mind control chips were already under construction, and soon he would begin the process. He only prayed it worked, for his own sake.

Bentah looked as the Jedi below struggled to free themselves from his restraints. There was look of terror in his eyes, as he knew what was coming. The last few experiments had scared the prisoners quite a bit, and their grim aftermaths haunted him still.

Ah well, risks had to be taken. Perhaps this one would be different. He pulled the lever and the Jedi screamed once and was silenced.

The gruesome sounds of a brain being removed rang through the lab.

An Imperial probe droid enters the system. It starts searching the area for republic vessels, but the astroids are making it difficult to move.

At the Republic science facility, it is very easy to hear the droids Imperial signals.

On board the station an alarm bell rang. Bentah turned and saw that a droid of some kind had entered the system. He activated the cloaking device that shielded the station from the droid.

His work was too important to be disturbed.

The droid found nothing in the system. It changed coarse and deactivated.

An Imperial task force commanded by Captain Daran, heads into the astroid field. They have no idea that there is a Republic base here.

The Task force is made up of 1 star destroyer, the ISD: Bastion, 6 accumilator class frigates, and 5 small Tartan class corvets.

They have been sent here on a recon mission to find enemy outposts. The Bastion has been equiped with extra sensors to find such locations.
