Schoolhouse SlumberAs these words seep through the crevices of my mind
like poison - winding, twisting, stirring into my brain
until it becomes nothing but a ghastly glob of gray goop -
all that is left in it's place is a simple nothingness.
I see my day as it was given to me, rushing by
as if it were in some kind of hurry. I don't know
why it can't just slow down and give me a moment
to dwell amongst my thoughts on all that occurred throughout my day.
I drift off, giving into what begins as a brief release
of all the air trapped within my lungs and clearly becomes
a blur of words upon pages that end up lost in translation.
A sudden shuffle of feet and clashing of desks brings me
back into consciousness; alert and ready to take on
yet another hour. Forced to interact with a handful of prisoners
who cannot seem to comprehend simple mathematics,
I have slowly been driven mad. Stupidity has replaced their ignorance.
*edit* WOW I didn't realize my silly typos. I fixed those. Not that it matters TOO much... lol
