Barely able to understand each other, Kurogane and Fai struggle to continue with their daily lives without Mokona's aid. As the language barrier seems to echo back and forth between worse and better, they find themselves falling in love.
RULES ("Borrowed" from [BL]KuroFai):
1) Keep it PG13
2) No cybering or godmodding or anything that might make the game un-fun-like.
3) Please post in third person, story form. So instead of: *walks over* "Hi!", please say, Fai walked across the room. "Hi!" he said, smiling.
4) If you want to be a character that's already taken, ask the person if you can share. Only two per character, though. I don't want one Kurogane and five Fais.
5) Feel free to be your own character! Just make sure they act CLAMP-ish and don't mess up the story.
6) Just cause I don't list the names of members of Yasha and Ashura's armies (if they actually have names) doesn't mean you can't RP them.

Fai sat outside on a warm sunny day, smiling up at the sky. Passersby, all natives of Yamano he assumed, were looking at him strangely as they walked past him. Maybe it was the fact that he had not changed into clothes of this world yet or perhaps it was his blond hair, which as far as he'd seen seemed to be an impossible genetic trait for citizens of Yamano. He was waiting patiently out by the palace gates for Kurogane.
When they had landed in this country with no Mokona no Syaoran and no Sakura, Kurogane attempted to converse with the first people to spot them, who happened to be some of Yasha's highest ranking guards. He was fairly well-understood by the men, it seemed, and so when he explained the situation, the guards took him to the palace to speak with Yasha, or so Fai had understood. Fai had chosen to remain outside, though, seeing as he did not understand either the men or Kurogane.
"Cooking is so fun cooking is so fun now it's time to take a break and see what we have done," Fai sang softly to himself as he fidgeted. Perhaps he wasn't as patient as he thought he was.

Kurogane had finished speaking with the king of this country, Yasha, and he was left to find his way outside. He was lucky to be able to speak this language. Leave it to that stupid manjuu to transport him and that stupid wizard before he even arrived himself, or out of his translation distance. As luck would have it, the king was offering to hold a trial for them, to see if they were fit to be in his army, and he'd even been gracious enough to give them small lodging for the night. Maybe if they were enrolled in the army, their situation would improve...
It was these thoughts that floated around Kurogane's head as he walked outside the castle. The ninja walked towards the main gates, just in time to hear Fai singing to himself in his mockery of a language.
"Oi. If you're not going to speak properly, then don't speak at all." Kurogane muttered, approaching the mage. He knew that what he had asked was currently impossible, but, too bad.
"We have a test tomorrow, to see if we can join in the kings army." Kurogane said, praying that some power would allow Fai to understand him, "In the mean time, we need to get clothes from this country, because you stick out like a sore thumb." He added, eyeing the wizard's attire. Everyone around here wore black, and everything practically WAS black, and for him to be sitting out here with his stupid fluffy coat caused him to be as noticable as if a polar bear decided to waltz through the village.

"Eeeh?" Fai gave a stupid grin. "Kuro-sama, I sure wish I could understand you but sadly I can't since Mokona isn't here but since Mokona isn't here you can't understand me either so that rather defeats the purpose of me explaining to you that I can't understand you, doesn't it?" he rambled.
Fai stood up and kept talking, despite the fact that he had just reaffirmed that it was pointless himself. "I was starting to think I should have gone inside with you because you were taking so long and because people were staring at me and I swear I heard some creepy guy go 'wheet-whoot' as he walked past me and it scared me because I don't like it when I'm all alone and some random creepy guy goes 'wheet-whoot' as he walks past me and I was starting to feel lonely too and when I sang people started staring even more. Anyway, did you miss me Kuro-kun?"

(Oh, I meant to ask...Wasn't it 6 months in Yamano? )
Kurogane gave Fai a blank stare as he rambled on in his senseless, stupid language. The ninja only understood two of the words that Fai had said, and that was Mokona and his own name with some sort of strange suffix added to the end of it.
Good, that meant that at least the wizard knew they couldn't understand each other and that he was talking now just to be annoying.
The ninja frowned in thought. He would work on explaining to Fai about what the king had said later. Right now, he had to focus on getting Fai into some clothing from this country. He already stuck out enough with his language barrier, and they didn't have to make it any more blatently obvious.
Kurogane pointed a finger at Fai, "You," He said and then pointed at himself, "And me," He then pulled out some money that they had been loaned from the king, how convient, to buy any items that they might need for the next few days, "Buy," Kurogane then tugged at his clothes, "Clothes." He then stared at the wizard waiting for a sort of sign that meant he had understood him.

Fai stared for a long long time, processing his thoughts. "We're going to take off our clothes for money? But Kuro-chi, I told you I don't like it when creepy men go 'wheet-whoot' at me!"

Yasha was fully and darkly armored like always. His silky black hair trailed behind him as he walked to the window of his throne room. His dark eyes betrayed no emotion. The king was more of a vacant husk of a soul than ever before. No matter what he thought of there was always someone else on his mind that tormented him and kept him aloof. Even Kurogane's audience with him didn't cause surprise or suspicion. He was holding a trial to appease his people.
Still, somehow they feel important...I want to meet the other one... Yasha mused and went back to his throne. Kurogane seemed strong and trustworthy, despite his angry exterior. Something about his eyes showed that he was honest, but Yasha had yet to meet this "Fai." The reports of a lovely blond man were almost exciting.

Kurogane frowned when he realized that he had failed to get the mage to understand. Things were going to get VERY complicated if Fai didn't learn at least SOME of his language.
"We. Buy. Clothes. Now." Kurogane said.
The ninja then turned and headed towards a nearby clothing shop, motioning for Fai to follow him.
He pointed at the window of the shop and repeated what he had said before, "Buy-ing clothes."

Fai smiled, "Oooh I get it now! Sorry! That was really stupid of me to think that, huh?" He started trailing along behind Kurogane, following him into the store. He looked about and when an outfit first caught his eye, he held it up with a wide grin and called out to the ninja, "Kuro-chii~! Do you think I'd look pretty in this one!?"
((If you want to take this as the outfit being completely insane, completely revealing, completely normal, whatever, feel free. I can work with anything.))

Yasha lifted his head up as there was a knock at his door. "Enter."
Two servants entered the room with a tray of food and some wine. They bowed humbly, set the tray down in front of Yasha-ou, and retreated just as silently as they had entered.
"I don't need this..." He mumbled to himself as he looked over the delicious food and wine. The king wondered how his servants could serve him such fine food when they were suffering from a war and not eating as well as they should. What had he done to deserve such loyalty and respect? He called a gaurd over and offered the food and wine to him and his friend instead. "Don't be afraid. Take it. I'm not hungry."

Kurogane, who had been looking at outfits for himself, glanced toward the mage when he called him and the ninja nearly threw his own outfit across the store.
"Can't you do anything right?" Kurogane muttered before rummaging through the shelving and thrusting an outfit into Fai's hands. "This" Kurogane said, "Not this." Kurogane took the outfit Fai had picked out and shoved it back with the rest.
(We will never know what the outfit was...just that Kurogane did not like it. XP)

Fai smiled as he looked at the outfit, "Okay! And you should wear this one, Kuro-puu!" He pulled another outfit off the shelves and held it up to Kurogane. "It'd look good on you!"

Yasha quietly made arrangements for the trial of the foreigners. Their skills would be tested, their histories revealed, and if they passed, they would be sworn into the army, promising their loyalty to Yasha-ou until they were either killed or dismissed.
"The plans look excellent, Your Highness..." The lawman that had been overseeing the king nodded and spoke with an overly flattering voice.
Yasha glanced up at the man with a bored look. The king didn't care for such words. He would rather have silence if there was nothing to criticize. However, he nodded and motioned for another man to approach him. It was one of his most trusted guards. "Bring me the blond. I don't like the fact that there is a stranger in my kingdom that I have yet to meet. I want to see him before the trial, understood?"
"Yes, Your Majesty," The guard bowed lowly and quickly shuffled off to fulfill his duty. The trial would take place that evening, which meant there wasn't much time for him to find the blond. The Blond was how many people thought of Fai. He was the only light-haired person in the entire kingdom, which thankfully, made him easy to find.

Kurogane's eyes narrowed at the obscure clothing that Fai was holding up. Assuming that it was meant for him to wear the ninja snatched the clothes and then dropped it on Fai's head.
"I'm going to go pay, since you'll obviously mess it up. Go get changed." Kurogane muttered before heading towards the register.
Honestly, the mage was more annoying when he couldn't understand him.
