Ah, you all knew this was coming, but, it is deserved by one of the greatest animes of all time, Naruto. The young ninjas that are oh so strong, and already able to take on adults with years, and years of more experience. As cool and funny as the anime is, it is highly unlikely for any of the sort to be possible. Although, some of the Genins have backgrounds explaining how they are so strong, so quick, others do not. And it bothers me how none of the Genins become Chunins. -.-
I mean seriously, one(And ofcourse fromt he Village Hidden in the Leaves) Genin makes it, and he's not even the best out of all of them. Though, he is a cool character, he is far from the strongest.
My favorite character from this amazing series is Sabaku no Gaara. He has an amazing background story, and also, his abilities are outstanding, and I am suprized that a ninja, such as Sasuke, a couple weeks of training, and with one attack, hits Gaara. Of course, a Village Hidden in the Leaves ninja aswell.
Gaara does prove himself to be greater later in the match, and the Naruto, does win. I do believe in this event. I know Naruto could have taken him down because of his background.
Discuss: - Favorite Characters and why.( whee ) - Do you believe in my first paragraph? ( cool ) - Do you like Naruto? Why or why not? ( heart domokun )

I personally am not a fan of naruto. It may just be that i only have watched a handfull of episodes, but the ones i saw seemed kinda slow. I've seen some of the fight scenes (like one of naruto fighting sasuske where they transformed or something along those lines) and they still didn't prove to impress me too much. Then again, i may have just moved on from the fighting animes. I used to love DBZ (yeah i know, lame) but know, most of the episodes seem pointless to me. Anywho, i would have to say that naruto is not one of my favorites. Perhaps if i had the time, i could sit and watch more of it, then maybe i would like it like the millions of gaians seem to. ( regards to the ninja headband, which i thought was stupid when i had like 6 and now look at them)

You are right about how it is slow. It seems all of the Sakura Pity episodes take to long. All she does is cry about how she can't do anything, and she is a horrible ninja. And I agree with her. xp

I haven't had many chances to watch Natruto myself either. They started airing it on YTV and i'm opposed to dubbed Anime. I've been forced to watch a few episodes now and then with my boyfriend, and i hadn't a clue as to what was going on. I've been interested in taking a look into the Anime mostly because i heard it was funny, but the prospect of "filler" episodes pretty much threw me off. I'm sure the manga would be a better choice?
The only thing i did like was that each ninja seemed to have been drawn differently to represent their nationality. It's rare that you'd find an anime that can sucessfully draw that out.

Well I remeber watching one episode (it was the one where Saske was fighting Itchedia?), and lucky it was subtitled.
I can see why it's a popular show, but I think the pace is a little (I know, it's ready said before), but I think that episode put me off, because it reminded me too much of Dragon Ball Z.
I think another problem I have is some of the fans. Of course, not every Naruto fan is totally obsessed with it, but the small few that seem to think it's the best and only anime in the entire universe. Which is fine, but if it was the best anime ever, the Japanese would stop making different anime and keep remaking Naruto wink
I do agree with Kitty390 about it being nice they draw them differently to represent thier nationality. Makes me asthetically more pleaseing. I recomend readin the manga first, because if i'm correct in thinking, the anime doesn't have some of the things like the manga does.
So yeah, I'm sort of sitting on the fence with the whole Naruto. Good show, but not my cup of tea, although if you reccomend some episodes that you think are good, then I'll see if I can find them and whatch it.

If I remember seeing correctly, I saw that Naruto had ripped off some 'moves' from Cowboy Bebop. Naruto's not that great, sorry. If you need the .gif, I can gladly show it. *EDIT* Actually, I'll post it right now. *Edit, again* And who's that repeatedly seen in the background of the Naruto .gif? D: Looks like the same person to me.

Well I never watched the show, but I'm guessing Cowboy Behop and Naruto are made by the same people/companey?
Another thing to remember is that Anime doesn't use programes like Toonboom, Animo and Flash like in Western Cartoons. Ever 24 frames per second is hand drawn onto a clear plastic sheet, then hand painted. Also, you can't do all the colours in gone go, ou have to do one colour at time, otherwise the paints will bleed together, and they dry up really fast.
Best way to describe CG paint is like wall paint, but dries much faster. This prosses can take months to prepare, and one slip up can ruin a whole month or two or work. This is one of the reasons why anime cut corners, regardless if it looks the same or not. Another example is running scenes: why bother doing different running scenes when you can do one in different angles and close ups and just repeat them, but with different backgrouns. Animators like me know how to cut corners for not only to save time, but it saves a lot of time.
Another time saver is when people are talking. If you watch closely, they hardly move when they talk, and the lip sync, well there isn't really, just a lot of opening and closing the mouth, so it looks like it is, when in fact it isn't
Like I said for one second of animation, there is 24 different pieces of paper to make that one second. So imagine how many frames they are in half an hour wink
Same with the Cowboy behop Background: Look carefully: The camera moves the same way, a black block moves repeatedly it's to save time. Same with the Naruto clip, they're done like that to save time, money and effot.
I'm sure they're millions are other anime 'rips', so In my opnion there is no 'Great'/'The best' animated anime, because I garentee there will be rips from other animes

I still don't like Naruto. I know they use repeated backgrounds to save time and money, but why in the hell would anyone make the background characters the same as the fighting character? Unless there's multiple, identical yellow-haired guys that I don't know about since I don't watch Naruto.

Nah, not really my thing either, but a Naruotard ( wink ) friend I have says that the guy has the ability to manipulate himself, so he can have 10+ clones of himself. Either that or my friend is lying to me stare

I personally really like the manga naruto, but the anime gets on my nerves after they made about a year of filler (non plot) episodes. The manga is really great though, plotwise, and such.

I used to like Naruto, but now it's been raided by the over obsessive fangirls, and horrible dubbings. It has also, for a long time, been on filler episodes, and I've stopped watching for like a year now. I stopped maybe, around season 4 or 5. Can't really remember. It's not one of those great animes, or so I think. There are really much better anime out there, if you actually take the time to look. Hunter x Hunter would have been popular if not for Naruto, Magikan another, great, yet short anime, Black Cat, a wonderful anime, but did not get the glory it deserved. I can list millions more, but I'm leaving the main point of this topic.
Naruto may be original, but I do not like how the story line practically changed half ways through. It lost it's interest after that. Then it went spiralling downwards when it was dubbed and premiered in America. Persoanlly, I don't care for dubs, but when ruining such a good show, that's when it ticks me off.
Other than that, I could care less about this show. It was too much of a waste of time for me.
