Our heroes have just left Tokyo, each bearing his own terrible burden from the disintegrating world of acid rain: Sakura is still nursing wounds from her effort to repay the Dimensional Witch as well as her beloved's departure; Syaoran holds a heavy guilt in his heart, feeling responsible for everything despite the evidence otherwise; Fai and Kurogane's relationship is strained to its limits, the ninja's payment for the wizard's life unforgivable; and Mokona wishes desperately to help but knows there is very little he can do.
Subaru and Kamui know they can no longer stay in Tokyo; unfortunately, dimension travel has mysteriously become more difficult, and now the twins are desperate to find a remedy to their problem and continue their journey. As a result, they decide to follow the group, resolving to separate as soon as they can in an effort to keep as far a distance as possible from Seishirou. Soon after their departure, Fuuma too left Tokyo, though the group is unaware of this and it is unknown where Fuuma has snuck off to.
Now everyone is in a new world, unsure of what to expect and how to behave among each other. Everything has changed, and not for the better; this is new territory, and if handled incorrectly could prove to have destructive results.

Veritima is a place where whatever one says becomes truth. Any statement, sarcastic or otherwise, becomes real the instant it is spoken; as a result, the population has grown increasingly honest in an attempt to keep the peace, knowing the power of words. However, unrest lies in those who have learned to lie without being caught, twisting words deftly to achieve their ends without suspicion. This electric undercurrent is omnipresent and ignored, the population preferring to believe that everyone is honest, and that is that.
As a result of the magic in any creature's words, Veritima has contructed a strict set of laws to be followed by all, forbidding words such as "death" and "disappear" in statements not already in the past tense. A trained police force watches the country's soundwaves constantly, every spoken word recorded for evidence in case its needed. This too is a commonly known fact that is ignored, for thinking about it disturbs the mind, and they would rather not be bothered with such thoughts.
Caught between the 19th and 21st centuries, clothing is Victorian, and motorcycles and horse-drawn carriages co-exist side by side. Radios and phones are found in every home, but television is a new idea that has just started to reach the masses. Aside from the power of their words, no citizen possesses magic, and as for vampires, well...those are only the things of legend, right?

6. Be very careful with what your characters say. Remember that whatever they say comes true, so don't go around screaming, "I WISH YOU WOULD DIE" or then you'd be the only one left. sweatdrop

Appearance: Long, platinum hair, blue eyes, slightly pale skin, curvy and well muscled due to her other activities.

Personality: Suzume is a friendly woman who likes helping others if possible and loves to sing. What most don't know about her, though, is that she has a habbit of sneaking off to race (motorcycles) which is very dangerous and people have died from it. She loves the thrill though. She is usually attracted to men who aren't good for her and she usually ends up hurt.
Her older brother Ryuu is also her bodyguard and is overprotective of her, never allowing her out of his sights. When Suzume sneaks off, she disguises herself as a man so she doesn't stand out.
She is not a super famous singer, but she is well known in Veritima and people will often stop her in the streets to chat with her, which she actually enjoys. Despite the fact that she's a singer, she is capable of defending herself if necessary. She studies fencing and martial arts but if it came down to it, she'd rather not cause others pain.

Personality: Since Ryuu and Suzume’s parents were killed, Ryuu has taken on a more fatherly role to his sister rather than just being an older brother. He is over protective of her and is also her bodyguard. He can be rude at times, usually when he’s concerned about his sister and her safety. He doesn’t like her talking with males at all so when she does, he’s standing right by her side (much to her annoyance). When he finally trusts someone, he’s a good friend and is always there if needed.
He keeps in shape by boxing and martial arts along with his sister, as well as makes good use out of the gym in their overly sized house. Even though he seems like a tough guy, when he’s not running around after his sister he is working in the family’s flower shop. The shop had been their mother’s dream but since her death, Ryuu had picked it up. He is picked on a lot by others his age, but he never has cared about what people think of him. If someone were to talk badly about his sister though….they’d be sorry.

Oruha, the country's favorite star of the time, holds the feather. Locked in a safe and taken out only when alone and in need of comfort, the feather has changed the force and power of the magic of Veritima. Now, memory and love can be altered; while the truth remains the same, a simple statement can cause another person to forget; and love, the once untouchable emotion, has now fallen prey to the feather's augmentation of words' power.
Oruha has special plans with this feather and this power. She hopes to revive her lover, a strong man who passed away previously, in the body of another. The inevitable meeting of Oruha and Kurogane will put the entire group in danger, for Kurogane and Oruha's past lover look very similar...
.:Story So Far:.
Landing in Veritima, Sakura-tachi head immediately for a clothing store, knowing how important it is to blend in with the environment. Fai accidentally "wishes" them money out of the ground; soon after, Yukito, the cashier at the clothing store, explains to them the power of words in this country. There, they also meet Suzume, a singer, and Ryuu, her brother and bodyguard. Takashi Yamazaki also makes the gang's acquaintence, and becomes their unofficial guide.
After agreeing to go to Suzume's concert taking place in the model Oruha's home, Yamazaki takes them to Mario's to eat. There, they meet up with Touya and Nakuru, his date of the night. They get to know each other a bit before a strange fight between Nakuru and another girl named Karen over Touya; when the two leave, the gang proceeds to converse about their reasons for traveling and of strange occurances in the country.
Subaru and Kamui, knowing their presence isn't wanted, take Yamazaki's advice and go to City Hall to apply for jobs. Soon after they exit the building, Eriol spots them and immediately hires them to work in the library.
Seishirou also arrived into the world, his presence made known to Subaru and Touya, though no one knows where he is. Still, in his desire for the young vampire, Seishirou begins to consider a plan involving their former traveling companions. He hires Michiru and Mikuru soon afterwards to help him in his plans.
After dinner, Yamazaki, Fai, Sakura, and Mokona go ahead to Oruha's house; Kurogane and Syaoran follow Touya to the auto shop to rent cars. Yamazaki discovers Sakura-tachi's reasons for coming on the way, and agrees to help them in any way possible; meanwhile, Kurogane chooses to rent two cars for the group.
Suzume receives a strange note while preparing for the concert in her room; worried, she asks Chii about it, but no conclusions are made.
Sakura-tachi come across Oruha at the party, as well as Suzume and Chii. As they chat, Kurogane and Syaoran arrive, allowed in as the last guests of the party. Touya, who forgot to check their lisences before turning in the cars to them, is forced to not only follow them there but to break into the party.
As the party progresses, Suzume sings a great set but heads to the bar afterward; Fai and Chii dance whilst learning more about each other, ending with Fai being offered a job at the bakery Suzume's family owns; and Touya meets Yukito and is immediately smitten. Sakura is offered a job by Michiru and Mikuru, who were sent by Seishirou, and she considers it. Kurogane ends up spending time with Oruha (though not always willingly) and is eventually hired to be her bodyguard/model. The lisence issue is also temporarily resolved, but Kurogane and Touya almost get into a fight.
Touya leaves rather drunk and is accompanied by Yukito to a restaurant. The two have delightful conversation, and Yukito accompanies Touya back home before returning to his own place.
Yamazaki, realizing that he's kept Chiharu waiting, leads everyone out of the party and back to his apartment. Chiharu is found crying, but after apologies from Yamazaki-tachi, she cheers up. Sakura and Syaoran rest while Yamazaki and Chiharu try to find items for them to use for the night. Kurogane, in the meantime, manages to convince Fai to feed, and suffers a drop in health because of it. Eventually, everyone manages to get to bed.
The next morning, all head to work. Kurogane finds Oruha's lack of security difficult, but he isn't the only one having troubles at work: Chiharu confesses to Yamazaki that she wants to quit her job, and Yamazaki encourages her to pursue a job at the newspaper instead. Syaoran, Fai, Chii, and Mokona have a lovely day at the bakery, and Sakura has a strange but decent day with Seishirou, Michiru, and Makuru, a day made stranger when Seishirou disappears for awhile and comes back without a comment.
Subaru and Kamui get the hang of their job easily, but during their break have the closest thing to an argument they have ever had and separate, a dangerous thing in a world where the hunters reside. Subaru, cornered by Seishirou on the street, is soon recovered by Kamui; Seishirou is led away by Fuuma without comment, leaving the twins confused and wary. They try to leave, but find that their magic isn't working as it should.
Time Skip - 3 days later
Chiharu and Yamazaki now work together for the newspaper, Yamazaki continuing his job as a reporter and Chiharu now dealing with the paperwork that is in no shortage at the office. Fuuma, too, now works for the country's main newspaper, assigned as Yamazaki's new editor. As such, he finds it easy to make many stops by the library, his press pass giving him considerable access.
Eriol mysteriously accepted Subaru and Kamui back in for work without a comment, and as such the vampire twins continue to work diligently. Fuuma is a fan of stopping by and bothering Kamui, so it isn't all that unusual to find the blue-eyed vampire in a sour mood.
Subaru has been having trouble sleeping; ever since the run-in with Seishirou, he can't stop thinking and dreaming about the man. He tries to keep it secret from Kamui, but there's no guarantee that he's succeeding. The green-eyed vampire is also constantly worried about Kamui and how his twin is faring being so close to Fuuma so often.
Kurogane has been working for Oruha without too much complaint, acquiring both valuable information and some highly embarassing moments. People aren't starting quite so much anymore, and he has become better friends with Karen. Karen, in turn, has begun neglecting to check up on Touya due to her newfound friendship.
Oruha has become very attracted to Kurogane and is currently doing all she can do seduce him, which is thankfully not working quite as well as she would like. She has also found him an excellent model and despite the man's vehement protests managed to make him pose for her photographer quite a few times, though so far they have all kept him blissfully yet strangely clothed. Fond of Sakura, she has donated the girl many splendid outfits. She is also having agony sleeping at night, for the feather locked in her safe is doing all it can to enter her mind and begin controlling her actions.
Touya has been working hard, as usual, but despite his busy schedule he feels like he's forgotten something and it bothers him. As such, he's doing all he can to try and remember what that something is. Yukito has been working just as attentively as well, though every now and then he and Touya manage to get away to eat a quick lunch together.
Fai and Chii grow closer as the days pass, and the wizard finds himself smiling more than he expected. Nevertheless, he is nowhere close to being the same man he was before the incidents at Tokyo; the blond is also neglecting his feeding, something that irritates Kurogane immensely.

FAQ
1. Do thoughts come true as well?
No. Only words that are spoken aloud come true; writing and thoughts do not.
2. Uh, how does this affect the entertainment industry?
All music has to be true to the author when written, of course. However, one should note that songs can't tell stories (ex. The Highwayman, or Pearl Jam's Last Kiss), lest they accidentally come true. Movies and shows (both television and radio) have to be approved by the government before being performed; they need to make sure that the character names aren't shared by any real people, and that the script won't cause any problems. The juciest stories therefore are usually found in books and the like.
3. Hey, I have an idea for the plot...where can I talk about it?

4. Can I just say something so that the police can't hear what I'm saying and I can say what I want?
The only problem with that is that eventually someone is going to notice that the same people keep seemingly talking to themselves. People are bound to notice the unusual speaking patterns Fuuma chooses to use. Not only that, this form of magic has been going on for years; the police are bound to have come across people attempting to do similar things. They have wards set up.
Basically, the only people fully allowed to overcome this obstacle are people in possession of unabsorbed feathers. If a person chooses to extend the power of the feather to another, the feather has to concede, which it most likely will.
If you choose to try and use magic to fight the wards that protect the law, it will cost. What, I have not quite decided yet, but it will be an obstacle as difficult, if not more so, than the ones in Rekord.
5. How does the issue of individual magic come into play here?
The feather, Oruha's feather, is at the moment bending the rules of the country and allowing her to say whatever she wants. When the wards were bent for her, they distorted everywhere else, which is why there are currently problems concerning things like memory lapses. (Example: Nakuru's ability to make Touya forget about Yukito.) Things like that had been protected against, but this disturbance is messing around with some of it. Not all of it, mind you.
The only things currently under temporary lapse are memory and the construction of emotion, meaning if you word things carefully enough you can go about affecting how someone feels about something or certain memories. It's not quite as potent when used by or on foreigners, but it will work to a certain extent.
So, in light of that, we are going to assume that not only did it distort those particulars, it also distorted other types of magic. This country would have problems with the foreign magic anyway because it's unused to it and has so many wards on it. It would have worked, but with a few difficulties. With the wards bending, however, it's warping individual magic even more. Hence, why Subaru and Kamui can't leave nor can Fai or Syaoran, if they choose to, use magic to their full extent. Mokona will have some issues, but Yuuko had forseen this with Clow, so overall Mokona will be unaffected.

Want your character to discover something? They can look here and find it. I mean it. They know everything. To quote Eriol: "This library holds over 118 million items spread out over 500 miles of shelving." So really, you can find anything.

((Yay! We officially have enough people to start! surprised So I guess I'll post first, and everyone can come in. whee ))
Kurogane grunted as he landed on the concrete of a busy sidewalk, surveying the new country with mild curiosity. Mokona had thankfully taken them somewhere far, far different than the Tokyo they had just left, but somehow everything seemed familiar. This world, with its tall, aging brick buildings, horses, and mechanical vehicles zooming around, reminded him strongly of Rekord, albeit with a vaguely different air. Something was off here, and he didn't like not knowing what it was.
"Where do you think we are now?" he asked no one in particular, glaring at a random passerby who was giving the group what the ninja felt was a rather suspicious look. The stranger gulped and scurried off, but Kurogane wasn't appeased; he glanced at the others, waiting for an answer he knew none of them had.

"Mokona doesn't know." Mokona said, glancing around from his spot on the sidewalk. The creature moved himself as close to the group as he could get to avoid being squashed by some random passerby. "But, Mokona thinks that it is very busy here!"
Sakura, managing a small laugh at the creature by their feet, picked it up and held it close to her. "It is pretty busy.." Sakura commented, glancing around at their surroundings. It was funny how none of the worlds were ever quite the same. "The people here don't seem to like us very much...we're getting a lot of strange looks." She muttered, a little uncomfortable with the whole situation. She pulled Mokona in a little closer as if she was afraid that she was going to lose him.

Fai was glad to be somewhere new. He was glad to get moving again, but most of all he was just glad to leave Tokyo. He had wanted to leave there for the longest time, and was glad that they were finally able to do so. The only remnants of Tokyo on them were the clothing that they were wearing, but they would soon be rid of that. They would have to get the clothing to match this country as well.
As Mokona and Sakura responded to Kurogane's question, Fai, too, looked around the area. Sakura was right, they were getting some strange looks, but, that was completely normal when you arrived in a strange world wearing completely different clothing.
"Don't worry about it, Sakura-chan." Fai said, "We just look a little different in the clothing that we're wearing."
Fai didn't like how his voice sounded anymore, he realized as he spoke. He sounded tired and weak. He laughed inwardly as he critiscized himself for the millionth time in the past week and then looked around again.

"What WE - ?!" Kurogane growled at the vampire, thinking it rather bold to claim that everything that had transpired was their fault. If THOSE TWO hadn't gotten there first and -
No. He didn't want to think about it. Not right now.
Tired of standing around and being gawked at, Kurogane made an irritated noise before saying, "The skinny one is right; we need to find some clothing that matches before we're arrested or something."

When Fai had heard Kamui's voice he looked away enough that he wouldn't have to see the two vampires. He didn't need to be reminded of anything like that right now. At the mention of the 'mess' that happened, and it being their fault, Fai visibly tensed. It hadn't been their fault, it hadn't been Kamui's nor Subaru's fault. Nobody was to blame, what happened happened, and that was that.
"If you want to distance yourselves from Seishiro, then you probably don't want to be around us." Fai murmured, glancing towards Kamui for a minute before looking down the road. "I think I see a clothing shop that way." He said. Coincidentally, this clothing shop was in the direction opposite of Kamui and Subaru.

"Then let's go," Kurogane said, impatiently pushing through the crowds and heading towards the shop the wizard had pointed out. Anything to get as far away from those twins as he could and busy himself with thoughts other than those of that Godforsaken desert.

Grateful that they were leaving the area Fai looked down at Sakura and Syaoran and Mokona. "Let's go then." Fai said with a sort of half smile. The wizard waited for the two of them to start moving before he followed after him. As he followed after the ninja Fai thought about how glad he was to know Sakura, and how brave Sakura was. She was holding up a lot better than him in this situation, and she had lost her closest friend. If she could still be alright, and be even a little happy after all this, then maybe he could to.
"Kurogane, you're moving to fast, the shop's not going anywhere." Fai commented, noticing how the people on the sidewalk were being pushed aside and scared off by the ninja.

Sakura started walking when Fai had indicated. She could understand why Fai and Kurogane wanted to get away from Kamui, and complied. She hadn't gotten to know Kamui or Subaru very much during their stay in Tokyo, and wished that she had. Kamui seemed to be very much like Kurogane. A tough exterior with a warm heart somewhere in there. Sakura glanced awkwardly towards Syaoran as they all made for the clothing store before looking back down at Mokona.
Mokona was not happy.
Mokona was not happy because everyone around him was not happy. Everyone around him was thinking sad thoughts, and they were making Mokona very sad. The white creature, in an attempt to get everyone's minds moving elsewhere said, "Puu! The clothing here is a lot like the clothing in Rekord and in Spirit too."

Touya whistled to himself as he walked to the auto shop. He was wearing his slate gray uniform, with a hat on backwards and slightly tilted to one side. In his hand was a duffle bag containing his other work uniform that he had just changed out of. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, right after his shift at Mario's he had to go to his other job at the Main Street Auto.
He had just delivered a pizza as a favor to another guy at Mario's since he was leaving his shift for that day anyway. Even though Touya was a waiter at the pizzeria and Italian restaurant he occasionally did other odd jobs that were required. It usually worked out well for him in the end. He was the "Employee of the Month" more times than anyone else in the history of the establishment and today he got a nice tip for delivering the pizza. Maybe he'd get a soda before getting to work on the old car Karen had brought in a few days ago.
