/processing weapons data/
A relatively small portion of the massive Leviathen was converted into a firing range near the Armory, with the entire area being encased in a solid frame of steel to prevent some stray round from tearing a hole in the ship, which is thankfully impossible due to it being located deep within the ship's structure. The wasting of ammunition on the range is quite restricted due to the lack of pure resources, however, appropriate training is always allowed.

Matthew walked into the empty area and walked over to the armory area and selected a few weapons that he quite enjoyed; a basic battle rifle, a magnum, and a sniper rifle as he walked over into a stall and placed all of his weapons out in front of him and picked up the magnum first and began to take aim.

Hunter walked in, and looked at Matthew as he quietly fired shots from his Magnum. He quickly ran over over to the army picking out the Rebel AP Assault Rifle, and attached an Oracle Scope to it. He quickly looked it over, and took the stall next to Matthew firing accurage short bursts.

"Most people think that's it's hard to befriend a Spartan, adn it is, but hey, I lost my friend a while ago, and I only really need one, now let's see just how good you can shoot." Matthew fired a final shot from his magnum as he planted it quickly, grabbed his battle rifle, examined it within seconds, flipped off the safety, and began firing with the rifle in short bursts.

Hunter glanced at Matthew, accepting his challenge. He fired his bursts quicker and quicker as his anger for the Covenant grew. He accounted the story of his brother again and again. He looked at the dial on the stall. It read 'Standard;Grunt;Jackal;Elite;Hunter;Brute'. He quickly turned it to Elite, and watched as the target pulled up, and a new target, colored and shaped like an Elite came down in it's place. Hunter leveled his rifle, and began firing again. "Much better!"

Matthew stopped for a moment looking around his stall and found the dial for his own target and switched it to Brute. He reloaded his magnum as he paused for a moment, calmly reloading all his weapons and laying them down neatly. Then, in the blink of an eye, his magnum was up and the muzzle flashing as round after round poured into the target.

Hunter stopped, pleased with his own work. He examined a close up of his target on the screen to the left. Hehe, 3 bursts in the head. One in arm and hand. And one more in it's crotch area. Hunter chuckled and then thought and he deserved it too. He walked behind Matthew and watched him tear through the Brute target. "Better aim then me man."

Matthew finished off as he pushed a button and his target slid towards him. The target showed that there was only a single hole right in the head just under where the helmet ended so that it would've pierced teh skin just under the armor. "Eh, not my best, but I always go for the single shot kill." Matthew responded and looked over at Hunter's target and said, "Not so bad yourself...nice crotch shot."

Hunter grinned. "Always gotta hit em where it hurts. One of my buds, Souders, got injured before he was killed, got two pieces of exploding tank, one in the face, the other in his crotch. Damn I miss him, but you and I will make the best of it." Hunter looked at the shot that he would've never made dead center in between a Brute's eyes. Ha, and I only got a headshot because of recoil and burst fire.

"Yeah, but this is pretty much my life, you guys still have a lot of freedom compared to us." Matthew chuckled as he sent out a fresh Brute and began to fire with his battle rifle.

Hunter looked on, and decided to start over on his practice. He picked up his Lancer turned the dial to 'Hunter'. The marines used to make fun of him for his name, just because of the confusion among the soldiers sometime over the COM. Hunter aimed carefully, putting holes around the armored area of it. Aim's still off damn... "How you doing over there Matthew?"

"Pretty good, but let's see if I can still do my old trick." Matthew said as he pushed a few buttons at his stall and the target refreshed and moved as far back as it could to where it was hard to make out. He placed his battle rifle to the side, and reloaded his magnum and checked it as he placed it down and looked over his sniper rifle. Under his breath, he began to count down from 10 as he flipped off the safety at five. Once he reached zero, he fired a single shot from his sniper rifle and dropped it on the counter and clutched the magnum as he switched off the safety and fired until there was no more ammo left in the gun all within five seconds. Matthew then pushed a button as the target reeled in and he started to laugh as there was only a single bullet hole as he chuckled, "Yeah, I still got it, you wanna try?"

Hunter laughed. "Might as well, I'll use the my Oracle Scope on my Lancer, not a fan of sniping. Single shot, then burst until the clip is gone then?" Hunter quickly prepared, waiting for Matthew's answer to make sure he didn't screw up. He switched his target out for a new one.

Matthew responded casually, "Pretty much, it's a fun game that I like to play, more fun and more of a challenge in an actual battle." He then watched with interest to see how well Hunter would do.

Hunter brought up his Lancer, recalling exactly how Matthew performed it, and started whistling a little tune, then hit a high note, and fired. He shot, disengaged his Oracle scope, and burst fired at the target. He pressed the button with his thumb, still holding the Lancer in his left hand. He saw that he had no shots in the target. "Bah, I'll get it eventually." Hunter raised his Lancer, and revved it, and proceeded to slash the target in half. "There, direct hit!" Hunter laughed, and looked at Matthew for guidance.
