Hello, and Welcome to my Guid for Making a Better Role-Play. I hope that by making this I will see better role-plays made so that I don't have to make them all.

Anyway, please make your self comfortable because we might be here a while.

2. Starting Out

When first starting out it is imperitive that before you decide anything else you make the story. After that you should figure out profiles and all of that other neat-o stuff that will keep your rp organized.

I. The Story

When making the story the first thing that you should consider is how many characters does your story allow for (I'm assumeing that when you make an rp it's because you thought of a really neat story line and it's not just a whim.) You must make sure that your story is not sigling out one character to save the day or something like that.

It's a good idea that when making your story you have an ending in mind that does not need everyone following a certain skript. That may sound harder than it is though.

Or you may want one of those never ending stories that just allows everyone to roam free. If that is the case then make sure that there is some threat for them to save every once in a while or it get's really boreing.

3. Attracting Attention

Attracting Attention is one of the hradest but most crucial to making a succseful role play. Appearances and use of proper grammer is one of the hugest ways to keep people in your thread.

I. Use of Grammer

I put this one first because this is the fastes deal breaker for me. I try to use proper grammer in every thing that I do so when I walk into an rp where everyone is useing chat speak and the first post is nothing but "ish" and "teh" that's when I head for the door.

You want to make sure to use proper grammer and the best spelling you can pull out of yourself to keep peopl reading. It's ok if your making a joke to use words like "teh" and "ish" but never when giving intrucstions. People will not take you seriously.

Example:

Good: Rules: (yes I know, you love teh rules)

Bad: Teh Rules! Obey Them!
