The whipping wind continually beat on all the travelers that came here, whether it be for sites or any other reason, people loved exploring around here, no matter how dangerous it was. The mountains, like all mountains, were infested with orcs and goblins, some kobolds, and even a group of giants every now and then. Many signes were put up to tell travelers to turn back, but each was stolen as firewood by highwaymen Orcs, so there would be no hinderence in... 'bussiness'.

Karthan, with his grimoire in hand, walked through the sandy mounts that barred his path. He sludged through the thick ever-growing snow, moving and shifting the snow as he made his tracks. Slowly, ever so slowly, he made way toward the other side of the chain of mountains.

Few bits of snow then began to fall. Snowflakes, perfectly symmetrical pieces of frosted water, fell from the gathering clouds above the necromancer. He still continued forward as the snow began to fall more-so. Eventually, after another hour of slow snowfall, the man was in a full-fledged snowstorm.

Snow bit into his black cloak, and clawed at his skin through his layers of clothing. Not to be stopped, however, the necromancer continued on his path toward his destination at the other side of the snowy mountains.

Juk Juk seemed to have been able to escape the battle with the half-dragon he had been fighting. It had been several weeks since that time, and he wasn't able to gather any more of his kin to his side, yet. He knew he'd need to get out of the Claw Rift, for his kind were not liked here, but it far too cold out, as of now. The snow had died down quickly, as usual. The mountains froze over at the tops of each, allowing for snow to fall. But each time it did, it was either in light fallings, or in large ammounts, for short times. He sat in a cave, a small gully in the rocks, burning as sign for fire-wood. He heard the snow crunching nearby, so he grabbed his sword, just in case he needed it. Crawling half-way out of the hole, he watched a black robed man walking across the frozen ground and small layers of snow. He only waited though, and watched.

A glint of metal caught the necromancer's eye. Over and across the frosted snow there seemed to be someone, or at least a shiny 'thingy'. There also seemed to be a stream of smoke coming from near the glint of steel. Karthan, upon the hope of finding a warm fire in the middle of the mountains, turned toward the crags. It may have been foolish, to trust fate in such a daring way, but right about now his slightly frozen brain didn't care.

((Yeah, I got it.))

Juk Juk saw the human coming, and quickly crawled back inside, getting ready. He stood near the fire, his sword out. He wouldn't charge whoever came in, and may not even attack, because he was hurting pretty badly from that battle with the half-dragon. He started to roast his meal, as he waited, setting up the mountain boar over the fire, adding a bit more wood to it, to make it bigger. Standing up again, the orc took up position against a wall, near the opening to the cave.

The necromancer walked through the entrance to see that there was a fairly large boar being cooked. Then he saw that there was an orc, too, in the cave. Karth pulled back his hood with both of his hands and smiled at the creature. "Mind if I join you?" he asked, rather bluntly, as he brushed off the ice from his necromancy grimoire.

His eyes looked over at the orc's sword. It looked banged up, as if the orc had been on the receiving end of a lot of action. That was it, probably. An orc would normally try and rip off a humans head. This one seemed to be holding back for a reason probably linked to his bashed weapon. Karth's eyes then went from the sword to the orc's face.

Juk Juk twirled his weapon in his hand, still in his battle stance. He didn't much like humans, but this one seemed younger, and neither did he like killing young lives. Standing up straight, he eyed the young man as he walked towards the fire and leaned his sword against the wall. He sat down, motioning the boy to come over. "Dangerous in parts like these." Juk Juk said, speaking around his tusks; one broken. "Me name's Juk Juk the Destroyer. What brings you around here, human boy?" The boar was just being cooked, so it would be done in a while, for now he'd need to occupy himself with talking to this boy. By the book he kept by his waist, and since that was the only book on him, he guessed that the boy could do some sort of Magic. He'd been around several shamans and sorcerers before. The latter were okay sometimes, but the Sorcerers, they were usually slimy, currupt and evil bastards. That was his experience though, Juk Juk didn't sterotype, though sometimes it was hard not to.

Karthan smiled. It was rare for an orc to put down a weapon and invite a human over. His actions either meant that a) he was 'enlightened' to the world around him, or b) he's insane. The human chuckled as he sat down a few feet beside Juk Juk and replied to the orc's question. "Nice to meet you, Juk Juk. My name is Karthan."

"I am looking for a teacher. Specifically a teacher in.. Can you keep a secret, Juk Juk?"

"Not like I got anyone to tell." He reasoned, nodding. he picked up a stick and poked the boar, turning it over on it's back. The orc rolled a tounge over his broken tusk, feeling it for a second before he turned to the boy again, his yellow hued eyes looking from the book, to being locked on the human's face.

"Ah.. Good point." The man's eyes went to the boar that was currently being cooked. "I'm a necromancer, and I'm looking for a teacher. I heard there was a massive temple dedicated to Narxuel nearby. So.. There would be the best place to learn more about my craft." Karth laughed, then, as he continued to stare at the crackling fire in front of him.

"I might be allowed to learn from Narxuel himself."

"I've heard the same thing, traveler. But Narxuel is a god, It is not likely he'd come from the heavens to train a young boy, to be honest." Juk Juk said, turning to the boy and speaking in his grunting, harsh sounding voice. He'd been more civilized and more intelligent than most orcs, because he grew up with the Humans before the whole gorilla war between his people and theirs. Never in his life was there a time he'd grieved as much as he had. It wasn't the killing, the bloodshed. It was the way it was. A war born from hatred. Racism. Brutal war, was it, when each side hated eachother. There were no Prisoners of War either, once captured, the prisoners knew they'd die. It mostely just depended on how they died. Juk Juk pulled the pig out from above the fire after turning it over again and waiting a few moments. It placed it on a large, flat and metal platter; made from tin. A large cleaver appeared in his hand as he used his brute strength to cut the thing in half, skinning the meat off from the bones underneath. Pulling any excess meat off, he gave some to the boy, on a seperate tin plate. After doing so he began to eat the boar bear-handedly. He never really learned the manners of humans.

"Ah.." The necromancer took the plate given to him. "Thank you," Karthan said, as he took a bite of the freshly cooked boar with a fork. A small droplet of fat rolled from his chin and slid down his chin as he took the first bite.
After pulling the fork away Karthan began again. "I raised my first corpse when I was 8 years old." His eyes went to the crackling flames, where he stared blankly into. A small tear followed the small droplet of fat, and splattered upon hitting the cave's floor. "All bones are the same, eh? Deep down, beneath the skin-colour, ears, eyes, and other things we mortal beings are all the same..."

".. And I'm curious if a god has the same bones as us." A chuckle came from Karthan as he took another bite from the slab of boar. "If I play my cards right I might be able to get the priests to call down the god of death. I can only imagine what harm to the world I could undo with his secrets. I could revive the dead dragons, make man immortal like the gods, create peace across the land.." He sighed. "But you're right. A god would never come down just for a follower."

"Mmm" Juk Juk contemplated, after ripping through the last of his meat. "Never in their personal forms, no. But appear as something else gods can do, and usually do. Still not sure of he'd teach you though." Juk Juk exclaimed, before again rolling his tongue over his broken tusk, an apperantly new wound. "So besides being in these parts for Him, what had you been doing? Where did you come from?" The orc asked quizzically, cupping his hands together around his knees.

"I've been doing necromancer things. You'd be surprised to see how many people need the services of a necromancer. Villages needing protection from brigands, people looking for advice on how to deal with the undead, 'art', tomb sealing, tomb unsealing, and a whole bunch of other things. People fear the dead and who is better to call in than people who specializes in them?" Karth chuckled, "I've been doing the random thing to get gold. To get by, neh?"

He took another bite from his tin plate. The necromancer's eyes went from the fire to Juk as he asked his question. "So, Juk Juk, what are you doing here? Orcs that have manners normally have an army behind them, or at least some sort of following."

"I suppose I used to, a small tribe if anything. I was sort of a highwayman. Its been like that since the start of the Claw Rift Battles. Humans don't like us, and my people don't like them. Its led us to stay in hiding." He explained, nodding solembly. The snow had begun to slow down outside even more, and the Orc continued to look at the fire.
