Megaman (Rockman) ZX is an expansion to the Megaman series. It follows up hundreds of years after Megaman Zero 4, and takes place in a world where humans and Machines are at peace. Humans hae also been given the strength of reploids, and reploids have been given human mortality. You play as either two characters: Vent (male) or Aile (female). The storyline will be slightly different if you choose either character.
The story starts off at a forest area. You're delivering an important package to a defense force known as the Guardians with your boss Girouett (Giro). Suddently, you are attacked by Mavericks, and You are thrown off a cliff along with the package. You survive, and meet up with Three members of the Guardians, who are suddently attacked by a Giant Snake Mechaniloid. When you try to defend the Guardians, the package floats in front of you, and begins talking to you. It is none other than Biometal Model X, who is the Living Soul of Megaman X, the Hero in the Megaman X series. You then Merge with the Biometal, and take on the Snake Mechaniloid.
The story continues off from there where you must fight 8 Pseudoroids, and gain the four biometals to stop Serpent (The Villian in the series) from using the Biometal Model W (Biometal Model V in Japan) to take over the world.
When you defeat the first four Pseudoroids, you will get the four Biometals, but you must defeat the other four in order to get their full power.
The first Biometal, Model HX, is the living conscious of Harupia from Megaman Zero. He comes with the ability to dash forwar, or upward in mid air, hover slowly downwards, and uses thunder type attacks.
The Second Biometal, Model LX, is the living conscious of Leviathan from Megaman Zero. She comes with the ability to swim anywhere underwater, and can create ice platforms to stand on. She also specialises in Ice type attacks.
The Third Biometal, Model FX, is the living conscious of Fefnir from Megaman Zero. He comes with the ability to fire powerful gun shots, and shoot gunfire in any direction with the buster customiser option. He also specialises in Fire type attacks.
The Final Biometal, Model PX, is the living conscious of Phantom from Megaman Zero. He comes with the ability to cling to ceilings, and throws a birage of Kunai. His charged attack is throwing a Giant Shuriken, or course.
Yep.... He's a Ninja....
There is also a fifth Biometal that can only be unlocked by defeating a mystery boss in the game, and beating the game afterwards.
The Gameplay is similar to the Megaman X series, and is just like any other Megaman Game. Fight 8 bosses and collect their powers, then fight them all over again at the final level including the final boss. The game also features a world map which you can travel around in like in an RPG, but certain areas can only be unlocked once you progress into the game.
You can also take missions which vary from finding a lost purse, to pulling out weeds, to defeating a Pseudoroid and rescuing civilians.
If you're a Megaman fan, you might want to pick this one up, but don't play easy mode, or you'll get bored really fast. If you're not a Megaman fan, then you'll want to rent this one. I'm giving it a 6/10..
