I would like your input and ideas on how to expand the guild. This would cover things like subforums, topics etc, or if you think competitions etc would be a good idea that goes here too.
All ideas are welcome.

Competitions are always a good idea 3nodding I've only hosted two reletivly small ones myself (one for a coco + many 10k runners-up prizes & one for 50k >.<) But I've found a lot of authors become more motivated when you give them an insentive xd Add into that prizes and good advertising (Ie if you wanted only members to take part, still advertising the the contest forum to encourage people to join the guild) Could get both more members as well as get people writing ^^
Specific themes (if you have one in mind) for writing contests are always good (duh ^^) but some do get complaints unfortunatly >.< (as I'm sure you know--I have no idea if you've hosted a contest before--sorry hun if I sound rude or something ^^)
They do seem to always be fun though! ^^

Oh, don't worry about money, I can pay for stuffs ^^
I'd appreciate the help with the guild, feel free to invite anyone you like hehe and make any new threads. Also, if you have any ideas for subforums that'd be helpful.
I'll wait til the guild is a little more settled before doing a competition ^^ And I'm on a lot too...and I'm not even a teenager anymore T__T

^^ Awsome hun ^^ When I've completed my current questie I'll try & get some gold/ items together for runners-up prizes/ prizes or something ^^
^o^ I'll post a link in my charity 3nodding There are quite a few writiers & yaoi fans there at the min ^^
Hm....well, are you just looking for writing-related subforums or others too? I have a few thread/ forum ideas either way ^^ (uber-basic-first-ideas) - fanfiction forum - (post your fav. sites, authors, fics, etc), contest forum (host contests, let other authors know about gaia or IRL contests you've come across), Round robin forum (I believe these are fics where an author starts and then another writes the next paragraph and so on--that could be an, ah, interested experience XD) ^^, an OC Forum (for bumping, other chatting, etc,) And advertising/ searching thread/ forum (Looking for a co-author? A beta-reader? Remember part of a fav. fic or book but cant remember the title? Post threads to search for those there) A roleplaying forum (not fiction, but can help with great plots ^^) A challange forum/ thread (either small or no prizes but a weekly/ monthly challange for guild members ^^) a featured author thread/ topic (featuring a member & their writing--another incentive for people to post their work ^^) A Writing forum (for people to post their fiction)
Uber-basic ideas ^^
I've got to log off soon--I have a Classical.Civ test in mid-morning tomorrow >.< I should be able to log on before/ after if you'd like any help with anything specific! ^^
& gaia isnt limited to teens! XD Yaaay for gaia! heart

Thanks for all your fab ideas ^^ I've put a couple up, and will add more as the guild gets more and more members.
Feel free to provide a link to your charity so I can put it up in guild somewhere. Perhaps in the aptly named Guild Links thread XD
Good luck with your test ^^ Thanks again for the help.

I posted some things in the NaNo thread but I shall put them here too for neatness: Quote: A subforum for sharing/critique of work, perhaps? I quite like the idea of getting a collection of member-written writing articles on everything from worldbuilding to grammar, too. It's something a lot of places I've been at have tried to do but never really got round to. Also: book reccomendation thread? And I can help come up with contest ideas too.

How about a word games forum? I was in a guild once where there was a subforum for all kinds of word games - word association, etc... - and it was really fun.
Also, I was in NaNoWriMo this year, and they had a thread called "Adopt-A-Plot". Basically, people would come in and drop off plots that they don't know how to write, don't have the time to write, or don't want to write. Then other people could come behind them and adopt the plot for their own if they wanted. I really liked having Adopt-A-Plot, because it was nice to see the different things people had to offer. There was also "Adopt-A-Character" and "Adopt-A-Title" threads as well.
I think competitions are a good idea. As someone else said, authors get motivated when there is a reason for it! If you want ideas for contests, you could do word contests - you give three words, and those words HAVE to be used in the story. You can give word limits - who can write the best story in just 50 words or something. Or, you could come up with a character and ask people to write a description of her, or ask them to put her in a scenario such as a wedding and give the prize to whomever writes said character the best.

How about you both take a look and see if you're able to add forums. Go to the moderator panel, edit forums and there's enough gold for you to add a few forums. So please, if you can, go ahead and make a new subforum and post a thread in there to explain what it's all about ^^

They can't? Oh that's lame.
Well you two tell me what you want me to call the forums, and then when I make it, you can go ahead and post the explanation thread. ^^

Hmm... Well, the two that I would like the most would be Word Games and Fanfiction, since games are fun and I spend a lot of time writing and reading fanfiction.

Well you two tell me what you want me to call the forums, and then when I make it, you can go ahead and post the explanation thread. ^^ You mean my suggestion about writing articles? I think what could be a good idea for a subforum would be to make it as a general 'Writing Help' place. There could be some sticked threads to which any articles/long helpful posts could be added - by mod approval, perhaps? - perhaps organised around themes such as Grammar and Writing Style Articles, Character Articles, Plot Articles, etc. The first post could have links to good articles elsewhere on the web, too. Then the rest of the forum could be a place for people to post random writing help questions. Like I needed to know quite a lot about burns for this scene I'm about to write, so I could make a thread and ask people for info. Or someone could make a thread asking questions about grammar, or about point of view, or about a character, or about the flight speed of an unladen swallow, or about... well, anything they needed to know.

Done ^^
I put games because we can also include the round robin idea that LadyShi had, where one person starts a story and someone else writes the next bit, etc etc ^^
