Gaia Name:
[Death By Imagination]

First Name:
[Ophelia]

Middle Name:
[Margaret]

Last Name:
[Merriweather]

Dorm:
[3]

Age:
[18]

Personality:
[Ophelia is usually rather talkative, but no so much that she's annoying. However, she's very dramatic (and an actress) and some people tire of that quality very quickly. She comes from a very reserved and traditional magical family, and is kind of the freak thespian artist (that's ar-TEEST) of them all. She's also the magical anomaly, the lone specialized witch currently in the Merriweather line, and has been shunned a little by members of her line other than her parents and brother. Because of this, she's a completely different person inside of the home. When around relatives, all she wants to do is fit in, so she is quiet, respectful, cordial, and polite, but when family isn't around she acts just as originally described. Quick to get anger, and easily hurt. Very emotional.]

Appearance:
[Ophie]

Likes:
[Sewing, her brother, reading, making friends, acting.]

Dislikes:
[Mean/negative people, spiders, math, blood.]

Course: Demonology and Enchanting

Classes: White Magic, Fight Skills, Music, Dance, Philosophy of Necromancy, Interpreting Dreams

Extra:
[Ophelia is a thread witch, a magical specialization that has been extremely rare ever since the last official member of the Indigo line was killed. Because the Merriweather witches had once mingled with the Indigo line, Ophelia received the gene that had, before, been dormant. There are only two other witches in the world with the same strange specialization. While she can perform other forms of magic, her strength is still the manipulation of fabrics and threads. By infusing seemingly insignificant fabrics with her power, she can manipulate anything fabric around her. (e.g. By casually fluttering a string that she holds in her hand, she can cause a rug to lift off of the ground and move in the same way that the thread she holds does.) When she was very small, she uknowingly strangled her nanny to death by tying a small knot in a string that had come loose from her blanket. For years, she was considered a danger by her family until they realized what she was and enlisted her a tutor, one of the only other thread witches, to come and help her get things under control. Ophelia has now mastered her weird talent, but sometimes will absently play with the hem of her skirt and cause a tablecloth to fly off of a table, sending someone's dinner flying.]

With trembling fingers, a sickly-looking Ophelia Merriweather fumbled with the key to her dormitory room. When she finally managed to get the door open, she slipped the key back into her skirt pocket and picked up her luggage, which consisted of one large metal trunk, two floral-printed carpet bags, and one ragged-looking suitcase. All of this old-fashioned travel gear was piled haphazardly on one of the luggage trolleys that had been near the entrance to the dormitories. Throwing her things inside, she left the trolley pushed up against the wall in the hallway, she would deal with it later.

Her room looked kind of like one you would see in a hotel, but it had a bed. A soft, sweet bed! Without bothering to unpack a thing, she left her luggage on the floor and fell into the bed, closing her eyes.

On the boat ride from the mainland to the dormitory island, she had been deathly seasick, reduced to retching pathetically over the side of the boat while her mother held back her hair and her father looked on with a pitied expression. All he had said was, "I told you we should have just flown her over," to which her mother had shot him a dirty look.

Her mother tried to avoid having to fly with Ophelia around as much as possible. Though the Merriwether line had traditionally had a natural ability to take to the skies as well as alter the weather, Ophelia could only barely levitate herself over small distances. The family Teachers accredited this to the fact that she was a specialized witch, but it had always been a soft spot with Ophie. When she had been younger, her cousins had played mean tricks on her and teased her from the air, and once when her father had tried to fly while carrying her he had almost dropped her into the Mediterranean Sea. And no matter how hard she tried, she had never been able to get more then four feet off of the ground.

In fact, the closest thing to flying that she could accomplish was to use her power as a thread witch to command a carpet or some other large piece of fabric. However, doing this usually only won more jeering comments from her cousins and her father didn't approve of flying with an aid.

After she laid down for a little while, she began to feel better again. Gingerly, she picked herself up off of the bed and set herself back onto the floor. In the reflection of the black computer monitor she could see herself. She still looked a little pale, but she wasn't green anymore. No longer feeling like she was going to vomit at the slightest movement, she began to unpack slowly, taking time to examine every inch of her room, memorizing her new places for things. She was especially excited about having her very own computer in her room. Her parents didn't allow one in the house at all and so she had only seen them in books and at the library before. She would have to get someone to help her learn to use it correctly.

Once she was unpacked, she stood at the center of the room and looked around her to survey her work. Not bad... she thought.

It was then that she realized that she had grown hungry. Picking up the 'welcome' brochure on her desk, she discovered that there was a café on the main island. She had seen no other students in the dormitory building, and figured that some of them might be in the café. People liked to meet in those, right? So she left her room, careful to turn off the light and lock her door behind her.

(Continued in Café.)
