XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXR O U T E X3 2XXRoute 32 is a very long route south, filled with lots of unavoidable tall grass and trainers lurking around every corner itching for a battle. It eventually opens up and you can see the sea (and fish in it too). Magnet Train tracks cut across the lush expanse of the route as well. Head south all the way to Union Cave. There's a Pokemon Center just outside of Union Cave where you can heal your Pokemon. I T E M S

can you feel the ground when your head's in the cloudsxxxxxx♥ ♥ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx After getting everyone’s various Pokegear number exchanging, Blair walked with Micah to Route 32. He agreed that he could always train more. So the two were off while Glynnis stayed behind to sight-see around the town. Blair was perfectly content to her doing that, because she would totally rather do that then train more. But if she wanted to beat the first gym leader without failing, she needed to either train or catch strong Pokemon, which she really did want to do. She walked straight into the tall grass and left Micah to do whatever he wished in the route while she searched for a new Pokemon.
As much as she wanted a strong Pokemon, she didn’t really want to add anyone to her team. She was fine with her Meowth and a new Egg. But she knew she would have to get new Pokemon sooner or later. Hopefully the next one she would encounter would meet her expectations. Just then she saw a new Pokemon she’d never stumbled upon before. It was grazing in a patch of grass nearby. Blair crept up to it like a ninja so she could scan it. The Pokedex made a loud beeping sound and the Mareep as it called it was spewed out into the open air. Luckily the Mareep’s ear only twitched and it went back to eating. Blair sighed. Now she wanted this Pokemon. Thanks a lot, Pokedex. She quickly put out Vanilla. She attacked viscously with Bite, but the Mareep was faster, it shocked the Meowth and it let out a horrible growl/meow. Blair squealed for her Pokemon, but got calm again. ”Be persistent in attacking it, Nilla.” Her Nilly went forth and attacked with all it had. The Mareep, now disturbed from it’s eating time’s fur prickled with electricity. Meowth extended its claws and tried not to touch it. The Mareep attacked it with some electric move, and it did hurt Nilly, but she was healed quickly with the Shell Bell. ”Okay, Nilla. Hold off on attacks.” So this is when I throw a Pokeball, right? She fished through her bag for one and threw it. It violently shook three times and she'd caught it! Blair giggled excitedly and picked it up, only to let it out. "Hmm... You seem nice." It continued eating grass where it had left off. "You'll need a name too~! Umm, I'll name you Amity." Blair nodded. That was a good name for a Mareep, right?

The day had begun to press towards it's end though Micah wouldn't entirely deem it 'nightfall' just yet. He couldn't even see stars, but you could tell the day was starting to wind down. He then made his way towards the Water's Edge to sit and fish some more. It made training far easier when he could have his Water Pokemon fight in the water rather than on land. As he waddled through the grass, a moving of the grass caught his eye. Something bright blue. "Woo-wooper." said the Pokemon as it turned to him. Micah quickly scanned the Pokemon and found out it was a water/ground Pokemon. Just what he needed to add to his team. The Pokemon's rubbery skin would repel any electric attacks, though it still had to handle grass-types. Micah didn't care. He also just thought the little Wooper was just adorable. And it seemed rather fond of him. Perhaps he wouldn't have to weaken it at all, even. He tossed one of his last remaining Pokeballs at the small fella and watched the Pokeball do it's work. And sure enough, it stopped shaking very soon after it started. "Woo! I just caught myself a Wooper!" he exclaimed. "I think I'll name you Andrias." he said with a nod. Micah had an odd way of naming his Pokemon, that he wasn't about to share just yet. "Alright, Andrias. Let's test out your abilities." he said, letting the Pokemon out to test it's tough skin against the few Electric-type Pokemon's attacks around here. And it stood up quite well to quite a few Pokemon, at that! And with that little bit of training, Micah was done on this Route. He'd head back to meet up with Blair and wait on her to finish, then head on back to Violet City with her as well. On his way, he even saw a bat-like Pokemon fly by overhead, and he scanned it as well as the electric Pokemon that'd come before.

can you feel the ground when your head's in the cloudsxxxxxx♥ ♥ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx As Blair started to head back to Violet City, her mind drifted off to Glynnis. What was she doing now? Had she already figured out the town and had enough sight-seeing? She shrugged off the thought as she spied a group of Zubat huddled around some hole in a tree. Blair wanted to test her Mareep’s abilities and these Pokemon were the only ones she could see anywhere nearby. So she got out Amity’s Pokeball and wasted no time in realeasing the POkemon that was inside of it.
”Mareeeeeep-Mar!” The Mareep said while it started charging its fur with electricity. Blair commanded her Mareep to use whatever electric attack she had, so she could learn its moves. She also heard that Electric-types were strong against Flying-types. And Zubat was flying, because Blair scanned it with her Pokedex the minutes before. Amity responded by shooting a Thundershock at a Zubat It instantly felt the effects and got momentarily paralyzed, and it fell to the ground, and left itself open for Amity to use a Tackle attack on it. It fainted after that, and Amity repeated the process to eventually defeat all the rest of the Zubat. It looked stronger after defeating all those wild Pokemon. Blair smiled and then realized that since the first gym leader in Violet was flying-type. And she just confirmed that Amity was excellent against Flying-types, so this gym battle would be a breeze. She returned Amity to the Pokeball and met up with Micah, who was nearby, and they went back to Violet City to meet up with Glynnis.

Yet another route. These were starting to get a bit tedious, Blair had to admit. She'd been here once before, so there was nothing of real surprise to her. It was very long though, and Blair sighed. It would be a long way to Azalea. She checked her Pokegear Map card. As a matter of fact, after this Route they still had to go a short way through Union Cave and Route 33. Hopefully they would be able to make it by sunset, but something told Blair that they wouldn't.
It was leaning towards early afternoon now, and the route was more popular than it was in the morning. More trainers dotted the sides of the route, waiting for someone to stumble in their gaze. Blair looked to her left, and saw a trainer running towards her. Or they just run up to you... She sighed and took out Vanilla's Pokeball, and waited for the trainer to approach. "Hmph. If I'd known you saw me I would've ran quieter." The trainer said. He pouted and took out two Pokeballs. "Anyways, I'm Albert. Go Rattata!" A flash of light was followed by another and there were two Pokemon on the field. The battle was taken care of quite quickly, because Nilly knew how to beat these, and Rattata's just weren't very powerful.
Next Albert threw out a Pokeball with a Zubat in it. Blair and Vanilla had beaten these Pokemon previously as well. It was another quick battle. "Wow, you and your Meowth were good." He gathered his fainted Pokemon and congratulated Blair with prize money. She went to get it from the bag in Albert's hands. They separated ways. As Blair was putting the money in her bag, she tripped over something. Looking behind her she noticed it was two great balls. This was Glynnis' first time on Route 32, where as her two traveling companions had roamed around some of it yesterday in preparation for the gym match. Glynnis took some time to herself to explore the route a bit. She hoped to find some different kinds of Pokemon around here. She stumbled across a Mareep, like the one Blair had caught yesterday. Rex easily defeated it, however. There were also more Bellsprout and Rattata around here. She'd seen plenty of those already, and quickly took them out with Rex and Charla.
It was then that she noticed a something strange blowing in the soft breeze. It was a Pokemon - at least, it looked like one. She pulled out her Pokedex and scanned it quickly: Hoppip, the cottonweed Pokemon. Hoppip's body is so light, it must grip the ground firmly with its feet to keep from being blown away.
"Oh dear," Glynnis said. She looked to Charla and said, "Let's go after it! Maybe we can add it to our team?" The two ran off after the flying Hoppip. The breeze died down, and the Pokemon fell gently to the ground. That's when Glynnis and Charla surprise attacked it. Before it coudl retaliate, Glynnis threw a poke ball.
The ball shook vigorously, but succeeded in the end. Glynnis took the now-full poke ball and released her new Pokemon. The little pink Pokemon was almost blown away again by a gentle breeze, but Glynnis quickly grabbed it and held it close. She looked down at the little Pokemon in her arms, wondering what kind of nickname she should give it. "Hm, how about...Yuffie?" she said aloud. A cute name for a cute Pokemon, she reasoned. Having decided that, she recalled Yuffie to her poke ball so it didn't blow away. Then she went to regroup with the others.
On her way back, she stumbled into a trainer by accident. The girl was chatting away on her Pokegear and looked irritated about being interrupted. She challenged Glynnis to a Pokemon battle as a result. The girl only had one Pokemon - one Glynnis hadn't seen before. She scanned it in her Pokedex, which informed her that the Pokemon was a female Nidoran. Deciding to switch things up a little, Glynnis sent out Ponto. She hadn't battled with him yet and she wanted a chance to test out his skills. Apparently he wasn't weak at all, as a couple of bubble attacks and Nidoran was down. The girl looked even more upset, but handed over the prize money anyway and went back to her phone call.
Glynnis put the money away in her wallet and called Ponto back to its ball. With that out of the way, she headed in the direction of Blair and Micah, continuing down Route 32.
OOC: In terms of calculating EXP, I don't think I'm going to count Ponto as traded, since Micah just handed it over and I didn't exchange one of my own Pokemon for it...

Micah continued down the trails, watching the girls battle their respective trainers as they continued on. Glynnis even had the opportunity to add another companion to her team. It was quite a contrast from the large and heavy Onix she was sporting. After Glynnis had won her battle, a young boy approached them. Micah's female Wooper, Andrias by his side, hid herself from the trainer behind Micah's leg.
"Hey! Did you just beat Liz? She's an amazing battler, don't you think? But let's see how you do against MY Nidoran, huh?!" he said, sending his male Nidoran onto the battlefield. Micah took the opportunity to scan the Nidoran before kneeling down to talk with his Wooper.
"Well, lil' lady, it's your time to shine. Let's show these folks how it's done!" he said with a smile as he stood up and his Wooper walked out on to the field. "Alright, Wooper. Start it off by propelling yourself into the air with Water Gun. Then follow up with a series of Mud Shots!" he exclaimed as the Wooper looked back inquisitively before facing downward and shooting a thick stream of water from it's mouth. Once in the air, out of the Nidoran's reach, it began pummeling the creature with Mud Shots before falling back down to the ground clumsily. Though, it was to be noted that the streams of super-effective ground type moves won the Wooper the battle. "Yeah! Way to go Andrias!" he congratulated as he walked over to the Wooper, patting it slightly on the head before returning the Pokemon to it's Pokeball and collecting his reward for the battle.
(Oh yeah. Ryu-Oh will get traded EXP boost, as well as Rex.)

Three trainers in and they weren't even close to their destination. She sighed, but as she did spotted something in the bushes. It looked like a Potion except it was in a different bottle and it was green. She questioningly put it into her bag because it could be possible it would come in handy. Hopefully she would know what it was before she ever had to use it. As she looked up after pondering the items, there was a trainer looking down at the item as well. "I can't believe you don't know what that is! What kind of trainer are you? That's a Repel, and you spray it on you so wild Pokemon don't want to be near you. It repels them, geez. You're stupid for not knowing. Didn't you go to trainer's school?" Blair frowned. "Why you little-" She got out Nilla's Pokeball once again and sent her out for battle. "Battle me right now and you'll SEE what kind of trainer I am." She fumed and commanded Nilla to Bite whatever the trainer threw out. It turned out to be a Poliwag; just like Glynnis's Ponto.
"Alright Poliwag, just shoot out a bunch of Bubbles and take out this cat!" The fisherman's Poliwag attempted to use Bubble but Nilly was too fast, she dodged everything. The bubbles moved pretty slowly anyways. Soon the battle was over. "Don't worry, it's not over yet!" The fisherman loudly declared. He send out another Poliwag of the same strength. He seemed confident, but Blair didn't know why. "Nilly, you did pretty well so how about I let your friend Amity battle now, kay?" Nilly nodded, but she couldn't have known Amity because they'd never been out of their Pokeballs at the same time. She sent out Amity and the battle began.
Because of the type advantage the electric-type Mareep had against the water-type Poliwag, it was no competition. It had been defeated in one hit against Amity's Thundershock. Blair nodded triumphantly and recalled her Mareep. The fisherman did the same and came over to Blair. "I guess you are an alright trainer... but you still don't get my respect!" He handed her prize money and got out his fishing rod and sat by the water. The group came up to an area with a large body of water on the side. There was a bridge a little ways out where it seemed like a lot of fisherman liked to sit and fish for a while. One of the fisherman had already challenged Blair to a battle, but she took him and his Poliwag down with no problems at all. As they continued on their way, another fisherman was feeling lucky enough to challenge Glynnis to a battle. Seeing as he would have water Pokemon, she wondered if she should decide against using Rex or Charla. However, apparently the fisherman was carrying Magikarp, who knew no water moves whatsoever. Still, Glynnis wanted to give her newly caught Hoppip some battle experience.
Magikarp were weak Pokemon, but Hoppip hardly faired any better. It didn't seem to know any damage-inducing attacks. So, Glynnis had no choice but to switch out her Pokemon. She opted to send out Rex for this one, as it was an easy enough task. Rex took down all four of the fisherman's Magikarp with ease (switching out each turn to give Yuffie a little bit of experience). When the battle was over, the fisherman handed over some prize money, along with a Lure ball. He informed her that it was handy for catching Pokemon you reel in with a rod.

The group continued down the path towards . . . well . . . wherever they were headed. Micah hadn't particularly checked up this time around, as it was merely decided as a whole that this was the best path to take. His Wooper still waddling by his side, Micah walked a bit behind the girls, at a bit of a slower pace as to not over-exhaust the small Pokemon, though she seemed to be doing her best to keep up. Soon, yet another fisherman approached the group. Micah in particular.
"Oh, hey! I see you've got a Water Pokemon yourself! Did you catch it while fishing? Let's battle~! But, we've got to hurry or else I might lose my next catch!" the fisherman exclaimed hurriedly. Micah agreed, though the strange look upon his face was probably an indicator to the man as he laughed a bit. "Go, Goldeen!" he then exclaimed as he sent his small fish Pokemon into the near-by water.
"Alright, Andrias. Let's show 'em how it's done!" Micah yelled as the Wooper happily made it's way back into the water. "Start off with Tail Whip and follow it up with a Mud Shot!" Micah commanded, the Wooper happily following commands as it swam under water, batting the Goldeen into the air with it's smallish tail. The Goldeen seemed to manage a hit in on the Wooper with it's horn, but with Andrias' powerful Mud Shot blasting the small fish Pokemon onto the shoreline, it was nearly immediately knocked out. The trainer reluctantly gave up his earnings and Micah, with his somewhat exhausted Wooper riding along on his pant's leg, hurried to catch back up with his group. It seemed they were nearing the end of this route.

Blair calmly watched her travel companions battle as smoothly as she had a several minutes ago. She could tell they were all getting much better. That was a good thing though, for they were getting closer to Azalea Town, and it held the next gym leader. She heard the next gym was a bug gym, but she wasn't sure. Or was it fighting? Either way, Blair would probably be fine. She got curious and checked Azalea Town in her Pokégear. It was a bug gym, just as she had thought. She sighed, and looked over her Pokémon. There were no type advantages or disadvantages. This oncoming gym would just be a battle of power. Glynnis would be totally fine though, with her Charmander by her side, yes, she would do well. Micah, on the other hand, was in the same situation as Blair herself. As she began thinking up some strategies and training methods, she bumped into a trainer. That's how it always was now.
"Hey now, that wasn't very nice. I, Youngster Gordon, will teach you to pay attention to where you are going! Gooo Wooper!" The little kid with the shorts sent out a Pokemon that was familiar to Blair. Didn't Micah have one? Nonetheless, she sent out her Mareep and commanded it to attack. "C'mon, Amity, use Thundershock!" She yelled to her sheep Pokemon. It did as it was told, and one Thundershock from Amity caused the Wooper to faint. "Wow, I forgot about that type advantage. Blair thought to herself. The battle was over, and the youngster quickly gave her prize money and as an added bonus, a Lure Ball. "I won't be catching anymore water Pokemon, that's for sure. You can have this." And with that he picked up his Wooper and left the scene.

After Blair's battle, the group was well away from the water and bridge now. Up ahead on the route, Glynnis could make out the familiar red roof of a Pokemon Center. Must be there because the route is so long and full of wild Pokemon and trainers that wear down a trainer's Pokemon party. Glynnis suggested they all stop in and give their Pokemon a much-needed healing before moving on.
After her Pokemon were fully-healed, Glynnis headed outside while she waited for the others. She wanted to get a look ahead at the route before they moved on. Up ahead, the route basically ended. The only way to go was through a small cave. Taking a quick look at her PokeGear map, she learned that the small cave was actually Union Cave. The cave would let out on Route 33, which would lead them to Azalea Town.
On her way back to the Pokemon Center and her friends, Glynnis stumbled into another trainer. He was a birdkeeper, apparently, having two Pidgey and a Spearow - the latter of which she looked up in her Pokedex. Seeing as they were all flying-types, she realized the best Pokemon for the job would be Rex. He took out all three Pokemon with his super-effective Rock Throw attack. Birdkeeper Peter admitted defeat and handed over some prize money and a great ball to boot. With the battle over, Glynnis continued back to her friends to let them know about the cave up ahead.
