The door to the entrance of the band room opened and shut softly, and a young lady garbed all in red stole into the room, looking around. "Oh, it's lovely..." she murmured, smiling around the room. Looking around to make sure noone else was in the room, Sara meandered over to the piano, looking down at it appreciatively.
Glancing furtively about again, she pulled the bench carefully out and sat down at the piano, resting her fingertips on the keys for a moment before beginning to play, first a simple melody, then adding layer upon layers of chords and runs, making the whole room seem to reverberate with carefully-timed, soul-gripping sounds.
After a time, Sara shut her dark eyes but kept playing, swaying just slightly in time with the music, causing the light in the room to shine off the plain, unadorned brown hair that spilled onto her shoulders. The rest of her hair had, presumably, been gathered up into her hat in order to keep it out of her way. In that respect, Sara was a terribly practical girl-- though certainly with a good deal of inspiration and creativity about her.
Eventually, Sara began to sing, her voice surprisingly deep and rich, blending harmoniously with every note she played. There were no discernible words to the song-- just sound. And yet it seemed to paint pictures of emotions. Hope, sorrow, love, tenderness, grief... It filled the room and seemed to offer Sara herself some degree of comfort.
