Of the seven and twenty beasts shown to me

from the depths I hear it rise
Drawing forth in its plage wridden skins
Tearing and perverting

On fetid breath, it whispers
the doubts of all mankind
the world erupts in Rightious fury

From behind the beast its is shown me
that thirteen candles light a path
and thirteen swords mark the way

and look up high watching the path
thirteen angels with the head of the lamb
and with the head of the lion

..........I am not sure where I am going with this so any feedback or help would be great, Oh and I dont think I am done it yet.

I have checked this forum, but somehow I missed this, I am sorry. Yes, I think this could be very powerful but it does need some work. There are some spelling errors first off so you might want to run it through a spell checker. Next is where do you want to go with it? In general, these are messianic or prophetic type poems steeped in mystery and grandeur. You just have to decide where you want to take it.

Ya spelling is always a problem, I generally wait till I am done to check it, but I am not done this one yet. As for where I want to go This is based on a dream I keep having and it seemed biblical so to speak. But I havent ever tryed writing like this before so I am unsure as how to procied(sp).
most of my normal stuff is very basic so this is a challenge to me.

If you want I can explain the dream a bit and then you can kinda see where I am trying to go with this.

I find dreams fascinating and if you are inspired to write a poem like this then it must be a powerful dream so I would love to hear it.

Ok this is going to be a bit long but here goes.......

So in my dream I am looking down a long valley that seems very burnt out, like there has been a forest fire. There is light but it is very orange and dim.
There is a small angelic being beside me telling me that the end of time has come, and though I here him I cant look right at him, all I know is he speaks like he is singing and he is shorter than me. As I look down the valley a crevice opens in the ground and all manner of beasts start to emerge, Then I notice there are people going down a large road, they dont see the crevice or the beasts. The angel starts telling me about the different beasts, there are 27 of them. The ones I really remember are A big slimy looking one that flys over the people and causes them to fight in the name of god. And a small red lumpy one that gives people all manner of illness, boils and whatnot. At this point in the dream I look to the mountain on my left and see a very small treacherous path going almost straight up the side. There are only a dozen or so people on this path And both the beasts and the people in the valley try to call them back down, Some are throwing rocks at them and the occasional person falls of the path and goes down the big road. At the top of the narrow path are thirteen swords stuck into the ground with a candle in front of each, six on either side and one at the end of the path. and above each sword is a very large angel with two faces, One face is a lambs, the other is a lions. They stand and call to all the people to come to them. Usually I start to try and climb the path at this point, and end up falling off and waking up.

yup thats about it.

Interesting dream. Are you Christian?

Not really, I have been doing bible study with the jehova wittnesses though. Mostly because I love theology. So I probably just have absorbed enough to mess up my dreams.

Well, I think that this obviously stems from your bible reading. I mean a lot of the bible is adventure, mystery and wondrous deeds. I can see where it would inspire dreams as well as poetry.
