Soooo... which system do you want? The PS3 is rumored to sell at 499.99 USD while the Wii is rumored to sell at 249.99 USD. Thats SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper... and Nintendo boasts new Wi-fi technology with the system, ala the Nintendo DS and that whole flipping the remote to play the game... where as developers of the PS3 are saying its ahead of its time. Hvaing online gameplay, similar to xbox 360... however internet access will be completely free. This will also have interaction with the PSP... along among other perks. So which system willl reign supreme!?!? OR

PS3.
Definitely.
I don't want any games a 4 year old can play and beat. ..nor do I want to swing a sword in game by waving my hands around like a moron.
..But I'll probably buy the 360, since Assassin's Creed is being released on it.

I'm a big sony fan, but I really think they have messed up this time. The price, even with free internet, is too hefty for most people. Aside from that I think we all know that the blue ray is going nowhere. The Wii looks impressive, but I can't decide if the controller will really be all they say it is until I try it for myself. I have a nagging feeling that the controls wont work well.
To be honest I think the 360 will win this generation. The combination between decent price, graphic capability and online play is pretty sweet. All I'm waiting for now is to see if they make any F*UCING GOOD GAMES FOR IT!!!
I'm definately waiting awhile before I buy any system to see how each one stacks up.

i'm loyal to sony, but yeah imma wait till next year to see what all the new consoles pull out. hopefully PS3's price will drop too. I agree they did mess up by making the system so expensive, BUT the only reason they did that is because all the hardware on that thing is ahead of it's time. maybe they shoulda waited it out longer???? i dunno.

I think that the Wii is going to be victorious in this one. People are thinking that the Wii is just a gimmick. (*cough* Ghostz *cough* XD No disrespect) But they really did something innovative here.
I believe that they have a philosophy to gaming that's really innovative when you really think about it.
Anyone can just pick up a game, play it and that's only it. Just playing a game, nothing special, nothing new, but the Wii is more than that. They really want you to feel that you're the protagonist in the game and you're really in the game itself. For the Wii, it's probably the only console that you have to play to believe since the overall control scheme and the gameplay feel is so different from the other systems (It's not just an addition of buttons or analog sticks). If this blows up, it could just be the best game console out there when it comes to innovation.

Yep, it's all about an economic point of view. That's probably the only way you can find the reason why the prices are so high: the technology and the scarcity of it. I wasn't a fan of the PS3 and I'm still not that impressed with the exception of games (new Virtua Fighter, Resistance which was a major improvement from E3) but they're in a tight situation. The low supply that's going to be launched might cause some riots and stuff.

If I need/want exercise, I'll play paintball, which lets you be the protagonist alot more than any video game. ..and even so, you could say the Wii has an alternate controller, but that's a complete piece of crap too. Two hours on it, and my hands will start having cramps. That's what I liked about the Xbox controller. I could play 6 hours straight, without getting any hand cramps.

All the new controllers are pretty easy to make fun of, we've got the 360 controller or the "Hand Killer", too big. We've got the PS3 controller which is basicly a PS2 controller that trys to be a Wii controller by adding gyroscopes but fails, not to mention it doesn't have rumble, and we've got a remote.

I never said that the Wii-mote would definitely feel like you're in the adventure, but it's a step closer of immersion. (with the exception of certain games). The contoller is more sensitive than you think. You can sit down and swing it lightly, but if you stand up, people are tended to do the more broader arm movements. So you don't have to be too sproadic with the movements. You don't exactly "exercise" while playing the Wii, except if you're fat. XD

hmm. Both systems offer many good things and have there downsides as well.
nintendo Wii's ups: Free online play downloadable old school games third party ideas with new controller modifications light gun ability rumble price tag
downsides: Graphics unknown games so far Nintendo themselves being the "kiddie" system company the oddball controller.
Anyone know about the memory yet? Or perhaps the sound to it?
PS3 ups: Amazing graphics good sound hard drive same controller with little modifications(the buttons moved up and down a little) the tilt control ability so far, amazing games. processor power
Downsides: price tag(600 bucks) online isn't going to be free from what I have read Sony and there defective products some of the games look like s**t No rumble. expensive games
Personally, I'm not getting any of them due to lack of money, But if I could, I would choose the Wii for the third party ideas. I mean... playing Tiger Woods or some tennis game would be amazing. Plus the metroid games or the Call of Duty game will be awesome. The PS3, though amazing, is not much in my interest.
