Being that the shop is based on going into the world through a book, obviously the characters in question MUST have a printed point of origin. Check below for a handy list of things acceptable as written material and useable in this shop:
Please remember, all of these must be in a printed, written format/contain words in a story-telling fasion or discuss the source and characters.
- Novels
Comic Books (and Manga - Doujinshi however DO NOT count)
Fairy Tales & Folklore
Short Stories and otehr completely-word-form formats.
Information Guides on Games (ex: Monstrous Manual from D&D, Strategy Guides...)
Graphic Novels (ex: V for Vendetta)
If I think of any other printed media which works, I'll add it. There are however some exceptions, whcih I list below:
- Fanfiction
Doujinshi
Poetry (Unfortunately, unless it's a severely long poem, telling a story, it's hard to work with this. Certain exceptions form famous authors MAY be made, but they will be at Mintaka's discretion. Point is, no self-written poems.
Webcomics (I, eprsonally, cannot allow personal creations form webcomics to be used unless they are your own creation and from your comic.)
Also accepted, but at a high price and through Mintaka (this is to be determined of price and alloances) are Original Characters - however they must be solely of your creation - you cannot use other people's OCS... any one caught doing so will be banned with no refunds given. So no trying to get webcomic characters as OCs. Overall, the OC requirements are:
- Must be completely your own
Must be original - cannot be a copy of existing characters, or look too close to an existing character from a viable source.
Must not be part of an existing universe (ex: Kingdom Hearts, or FF games, or even DC Comics universe, etc.) [Exception: If you bring an incarnation of them, without the ties to the universe of origin, such as no keyblades, or other attributes uniquely linked to a source/origin ... as some poeple have multiple incarnae of characters in different universes of fandoms.]
Must not be named after existing charactes, or look exactly like them (Yes, I said it before, I'm saying it again.)
Must give me examples of the character - at least two, AND a written description. Why? Because I need as much reference as possible - as well as proof you didn't make it up on the fly to be something cool for just now. Only pre-existing OCs may be commissioned.
Must have powers limited to thsoe fo a non-godmode nature ... so no being invincible, etc. Be reasonable. Anyone found godmodding with an OC will recieve quite a talking to.
OCs form an original universe will be accepted... else Min would break her own rules one day. However, if your universe allows major quirks on people/etc. please let Mintaka know beforehand so that she can be sure it will not conflict.
Currently, NO OCs which derive from a game such as V:TM, D&D, etc. At the moment such allowances could possibly create some really REALLY large scale headaches. This may be removed, depending, or with very severe restrictions on their abilities and such (since V:TM has some pretty powerful abilities and depending on your D&D level, be pretty insane in ability... which would equate to the godmode factor).
OCs are strict since they kind fo do and don't fit the origin universe, however, they will be allowed. Just with limits so that there are no problems.
