OK, just to get yet another discussion going, what is everyone's favorite episode of Highlander? Granted, I only have the second season on DVD and thus don't have much to work with, but I can at least get it started.
So far, my favorite episode is "Eye for an Eye." It's the first episode right after Tessa dies and Richie becomes Immortal. Almost immediately, Richie gets involved in an IRA shootout and ends up killing some Immortal chick's boyfriend...pissing her off quite effectively. Duncan ends up teaching Richie how to hold his own in a sword battle, and Richie ends up defeating the Irish lady. However, he doesn't take her head...even though it's part of the Game, he can't bring himself to kill just for the hell of it. All in all, it was definitely a big episode for Richie to grow in...although I do admit that having the Irish lady being yet another ex-lover of Duncan's was slightly tiresome, but that's really my only complaint with ther episode.
Now what about everyone else?

I loved Eye for an Eye except for one thing. It wasn't her being one of Duncan's exes. It was the simple fact Duncan is willing to allow a Terrorist to live. Yeah I know she's one of his exes but it set up very early Duncan's biggest flaw in the entire series. He's a hypocrit when it comes to his friends he lets them get away with being criminals of the worse sort but because he understands them and cares about them they get to go free.
It's why I allways got pissed off in my probably all time favorite episodes of Highlander Comes a Horsemen and its' follow up who's name escapes me. He was a judgemental b*****d over Methos past and yet he's guilty by inaction for all the crimes several of his friends and former friends have commited over the years because he wouldn't kill them. (Take the Chinese guy who was using a fatal drug to try winning the game and DUncan still wouldn't kill him afterwards only warned him to stay away from him or he'd have to kill him.)

Yeah, Duncan always was something of an over the top goody goody. It wasn't just his friends he'd let go either...he always had a big issue with beheading women. Honestly, I tended to like episodes where he didn't have issues with beheading the bad guy better.
However, I think there was an episode called "Chivalry" that turned out cool. Duncan fights and beats the female...he knocks the sword out of her hand, but won't kill her. After he walks away, Methos shows up.
"Pick it up." "Who the hell are you?" "Someone born long before the days of chivalry. Now pick it up."
Methos is the man. lol

I agree wholeheartedly. I only have Season 4 on DVD so my knowledge is a bit rusty, but Chivalry is an episode from that season. I always tend to get a bit tweaked when Duncan can't finish off an enemy. He lets his exes get away with bloody murder, literally. In Chivalry, Duncan should have finished off Kristen but he chickens out and Methos steps up to the plate and takes a bat. In my opinion, it's not just Duncan's skill that keeps him alive, but his friends as well. Sooner or later some old chick is gonna waltz in and take his head when no one's on "Duncan Ex Watch".
So far as my favorite episode: anything with heart Methos heart

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing that one via Netflix. Methos as a bad guy should rock...then of course was the Dark Quickening episodes. Bad guys have more fun. biggrin

Ha! Chivalry is acualy my favorite episode, because I liked everything about it. Methos is in it, Kristin is an interesting character, Richie gets to be a tofu-head, and Duncan is shown to be the sexist dork he is. All around fun-fun times.
But yeah, Duncan really, really should have killed Kristin. I will always be disgusted over Duncan in that. He can't kill her, so he lets Methos do it. But when Methos pulls the same trick with Kronos, Duncan gets all huffy? bah!

Anything from season 4. I have all the seasons on DVD now, but I know for sure that I've seen every episode multiple times.

Picking on my favourite broody Scot, are you? No problem here with that. I mean, love the guy, but he's a total chump.
Still, I like good guys. They're less likely to take my head! biggrin

Whatever you say, old man. biggrin
Provoking my mentor aside, Mortal Sins from Season Three was another goodie. That was one vindictive bad guy...not that I can't blame him after being buried at the bottom of a river for all that time. Then again, I grew rather tired of Anne...the only female character really worthy of MacLeod was Amanda.

i've got em all (and all five movies, if i may gloat) and the fourth and fifth seasons are by far the best, but my favorite episodes have either Xavier St. Cloud or Hugh Fitzcairn. Fitz was RAD. i was super bummed when they killed him early in the series, but he turns up in a BUNCH of flashbacks. favorite single episode is Finale, the end of the third season. It ends with Kalas dead, the biggest quickening ever on top of the Eiffel Tower, and Duncan and Amanda dance on the railing of it. Though that may have been the episode before, but it was a two-parter anyway.

I always liked "Turnabout", from season two, with Geraint Wyn Davies (of Forever Knight fame) as Michael. That is one of the few episodes, where Duncan actually did take the head of a friend. Of course, Michael's second personality, Quentin Barnes, tried to kill Tessa, so....

Well, now with my Season 5 DVD Collection finaly in my possesion ( the raddest Yule present ever) I've revisited the episodes "Comes A Horseman" and "Revelations 6:8" and I've come to realize (for the thousandth time) that Methos rocks! With me, these two win hands-down.

Ooo hard to pick!
I love anything with Methos or Fitzcairn, naturally biggrin I'm still missing seasons 2 & 3 (got the rest, plus the first movie and Endgame and just got the new anime but haven't watched it yet).
My favorite Fitzcairn episode is a tie between "Stone of Scone" and "Unusual Suspects" cuz in Stone of Scone you've got the whole Scotland thing (I'm obsessed with Scotland biggrin ), and it's HILARIOUS when Amanda's tearing apart the throne looking for a jewel rofl Of course Fitz and Duncan messing up is great too "Run away!!!" But Unusual Suspects is just SOOO over the top I can't stop laughing! Especially Fitz in that suit of armor rofl I agree it's too bad they killed him off early (stupid Kalas), though originally he was only going to be in for all of five minutes until Werner Stocker (Darius) passed away and the episode was rewritten. *sniff* Poor Darius.
My favorite Methos episode? Just as tough...my two favorite Methos scenes happen to be from "Chivalry" and "Comes a Horseman" biggrin (the ones I have memorized line by line, movement by movement.....)
If I was going to pick an overall favorite.....I'd say "To Be" and "Not To Be" would be tops, because they were done SO well, and you've got all the best characters there, and Fitz as an angel (*snicker* *snort* yeah..angel...right!), and a well done "It's a Wonderful Life" storyline. biggrin
