Whether or not it was better is anyones opinion. Oblivion is usperior in many respects but there are many things it doesn't have.

I think Oblivion is nicer just because it's newer, but there are plenty of thing from Morroind that I miss.

As far as which is better, console or PC, it really just depends on what you're into. However I would like to point out, the XBox version does NOT, I repeat, it does NOT have better graphics than the PC version. The XBox 360 has already been produced, and though there are newer versions that always come out, it won't have signifigantly better graphics in the future. The Oblivion engine was made for technology of the future. On full settings, a quad-core with the newest video card would have serious trouble running Oblivion at full settings at 60 FPS, if it could do it at all. So in a year or two, the graphics the average gamer could assumably run Oblivion at would be superior to the XBox version in all respects. Some people just like having the game controller in their hands while they play (I know I do, even though I run the PC version), others prefer keyboard. There are plenty of small differences that some people prefer to others.

The only reasion I would get them for the computer is all the user created content out there. You cant get any of that stuff on your xbox. I have oblivion on the 360 because I already had a 360 and I didnt have the money to bring my computer up to par. But I do have Morrowind on both the xbox and PC, which was fortunate because Morrowind isnt backwards compatable yet. stare

Oblivion has better graphics and overall gameplay. Morrowind has a lot of stuff but the combat and lockpicking are very static. Morrowind is more quantity and Oblivion quality. However I would like to add that Morrowind has 3 types of armor, spears, crossbows, and friggin' ninja stars.

I don't have oblivion (yet) but I say Xbox is better because of the controller, I don't see how you could play with a keyboard, but then again there are mods for the PC, so...

Not sure about Morrowind, but Oblivion is fine with keyboard controls, very easy and smooth in fact. Like a lot of modern PC games, wasd is used to move, and caps lock to run. Hot keys can be set by the users to switch between spells, although I don't really use that often... The two spells I use are the Night Mother's Caress, a healing spell for 20 something health... (level 19 now.. xD It's getting to be a bit low of heal when I actually need it, may have to hit up one of those /horrible/ resto GOOD priests...) and some illusion magic that lights the room... I can't recall. Anyway, I prefer a chop and slash way of attack, if I'm not sneaking, monsters will see me anyway, which is just fine... If I am sneaking, close distance sneak attack with a sword is an instant kill for everything I've gone up against, so I don't see the point of buying 10000g spells if I can get a nice glass longsword free from a quest and kill creatures in my path just as easilly.
ANYWAY. Ctrl is used to sneak, and this conveniently places every key you'll ever use on the far left side of the keyboard. That way, your right hand can be at the mouse, left clicking to slash, and scroll over objects. Oh, and spacebar is the generic "use" button. Talk to, pull lever, harvest plant... So yeah. Very smooth keyboard wise.
I can't imagine fitting all the controls smoothly onto an xbox. xD

i love morrowind with all the stuff in it but lets be real. Oblivion has the better combat, playing style, people, and quests. Its more fun to play for me. Sure morrowind has more quests and basically no limits but Oblivion is better. I like it for the 360 the best.

My personal opinion is that I enjoy Oblivion to Morrowind. I have it for the PC and I also have the Shivering Isles expansion. Man, the Shivering Isles is so much fun! x3

Considering what each one has to offer, I would personally try to get both. And PC clearly. If you want to use a controller there are adapters.

These are games geared mostly towards PC gamers (for once). They are prime examples of how a community can actually take over game development if given the chance.

Morrowind and Oblivion are the type of game that seem to be dying out due to the rampant sales of less intelligent single-shot games with no allowance for community input. Both of them are excellent games and, if you are a TES fan, you should probably try to get your hands on both.. and perhaps try giving Arena a shot. Morrowind was the second game to really immerse me in it's story (first was Deus Ex). It means quite alot to me.. and it is still playable even to the nit-picky thanks to various enhancement mods.

As to which one is better, Oblivion is the obvious choice. In the stock game, I'd say Morrowind beat it.. and there seems to have been some annoying downgrades in Oblivion that reeks of a console-to-pc port.. still, it has a better physics and graphics engine.. as well as more sophisticated AI. In the end, to me, it's all about how far the community can go with it.

Still, maybe I won't hate consoles for too much longer. They are already becoming more and more like PCs.. it won't be long before they ship them out with mouses and keyboards while allowing you to browse the internet and create documents.

I think that they are both good to buy and own because you can expoernce to of the greatest rpg games out there with an excellent story that offers an almost unlimited amount of customization and offers good playability.
