I've got a 70 Magician on the Fennin Ro server on EverQuest (look for 'Turvin' if you want to look me up), but will only be playing that character till the 21st of this month. I'm leaving EQ for Guild Wars, where I will be starting with an Elementalist/Mesmer.

Don't even give me purchase to rant my head off at that game right now. I've typed short stories explaining my overpowering derision to all things EQ. Hell, I've taken staff-members who work for EQ off to the side in the game and explained to them why exactly I was leaving their game that has become such complete and utter s**t in my eyes.

Okay, to everyone who would join EQ, I pray you hear me out.
I've been playing RPGs since I was 6 years old, starting with D&D with my cousins back when I was that young. I've obviously moved on from that, trying as many RPGs as I could get my hands on. And it is in my most humble (not to mention experienced) opinion that EverQuest is ******** WHACK! I play a Magician on there, labled as one of the best (if not the best) soloists in the game. I haven't soloed effectively and actually enjoyed it since about level 30. That was over a year ago. Now don't get me wrong, I can still solo, i just drop faster than panties on prom night if something hits me, which in the end makes soloing pointless.
Secondly, EQ is all about doing damage for many people. As a Magician, I'm supposed to be the 2nd most powerful damage-based spell-caster. I've been eclipsed by what is considered to be a healer class, the Druid. Thirdly, the servers have just been consolidated, reducing their numbers by half. Sony is now charging an additional $2 a month to play the ******** Sony and their money-grubbing, a**-kissing selves. ******** EverQuest and its immensely short-sighted design team.
DO NOT JOIN THIS GAME!

I played EQ when it came out for PS2. It was awful. I hated it. Soon I will be playing WoW. Then I will have stories for you.

I play COH, wich is very cool game. I like it, even if some people qualify it as a "grind fest of hell". But all in all the concept is pretty damn cool. Pass lvl 30 gameplay (32 to be precise, where you get your big power for your primary power set) is a freaking blast! Especially if you have a killer supergroup like mine hehehe. But i think i'll buy guild wars too, just to have a different game experience once in a while. I don't really like EQ2 and WoW. Seriously, I don't think it's my style of game.

I loove that. "At least I have chicken..." xd So yeah, I'm a WoW devotee. I seriously love that game. I've gone through a number of characters, but my current main is a level 29 (hopefully 30 by the end of the day!) gnome mage on the Bronzebeard server. She's fire specced and kicks lots of a**...when I'm grouped with people I tend to get a lot of comments on how much damage I deal. It's great. xd I'm a guild officer in "Daughters OfThe Alliance", which is an all-female (female in real life, not just in-game!) guild that started from a Livejournal community. It's still a fairly new guild and none of us are hardcore gamers, but that's what makes it nice. There's no guild drama, no pressure from guildies, very very little immaturity. Instead, there's a close-knit community of girl gamers who are always looking out for one another. The guild has been a really good experience for me so far. 3nodding

Yeah, I hear that WoW is way too easy for a player like myself. I'm in a rather mid-to-high-end raiding guild on EQ, and there've been times where I have been quite the devout little player. The reason why I chose Guild Wars over World of Warcraft as my new MMO of choice is that I much prefer games with a challenge. GW has the potential to pose quite a challenge to me, as it gets heavily into PvP if you chose to go down that path. I myself am planning on participating on that when I finally leave EverCrack.
