Pesh's Office
You walk up to the door and see the sign that says "Pesh Guild Captain of The Comfort Paradise Guild". Below the sign there is a Full Metal Alchemist poster taped to the door. You knock and the door and are told to enter. You see Pesh sitting at her desk which is piled with paper work that needs to be sorted through. The walls are painted a cream color and are decorated with anime posters and wall scrolls. Her desk has a Sailor Moon cup that holds her favorite pens and pencils. There is also a desk calander, and when you come closer you see that it has more doodles than appointments on it. To her right you see another desk along the wall that has her computer set up. It has a small lamp, flat screen monitor and printer on it. The desk is a dark cherry wood desk that was her grandfathers. The lamp is a n antique that was once in her grandparents home. It has a small tan lamp shade with brown beads hanging from it. The lamp is more of a yellow color and has a picture of a Victorian man and woman on it, with gold accents.
She gestures you to have a seat in one of the two chairs that are in front of her desk. She takes a sip of tea then asks how she can help you.
(Need assistance, have a question concerning the guild, well that's what I'm here for. This is a partial role play thread. It's here so you can come and ask questions if you need to, but has some role play in it. It's not like the house thread though, and should be used for important issues concerning the guild.)

*takes a seat the chair and slumps down, holding her head in her hand she looks very stressed out* Pesh, I need some help. I'm a mod in this other 18+ guild called Gaia Senior Citizen Centre. The Captain hasn't been around for quite some time although she was online a day or two ago. It seems she was on long enough to finish the bingo game she had going and to say that she was putting me in charge. We have 90 members and maybe 10 of them post. I've been trying to get some things going to create more participation, I have an avatar contest going at the moment and I sent around a PM about it to all the guild members myself. I got a few responses but less than I was hoping for and a look at my outbox shows a lot of people still haven't picked up the message. Now my problem is is that I'm finding it really hard to come up with ideas to more people active in the guild. Do you have any suggestions?

Every guild is different, so the things that I have done migh not necessarily work in your guild. I think that the posting contest got things started here. Rewarding people for participation might get more of them to post. It's also a trial and error thing, you never know what wil work until you actually try it. I've had quite a few ideas flop. I just move on to something new. As for contests, people in general won't participate if it takes to long. ^^;
Try your own version of our posting contest, or try to find a way for guild memeber to help raise gold for guild activities and prizes. You can give them away at guild events or for birthdays.
Role playing threads can also be fun, see what people are interested in and start an rp, or make your guild feel more like a senior citizen center. Another guild I'm in The Gaian Geezers Guild has nurses and Cabana boys. Something that enforces your guild theme. Here we now have a butler, since Klingron agreed to make his avatar like the butler in the new house description. ^_^;
If your looking to have everyone to participate that won't happen. Probably only the 10 that have posted will post. But they just might start to post more. if they find something they enjoy in the guild. In this guild not everyone posts, but the ones that do, post a lot and that keeps the guild going.
Don't get discouraged not all of your ideas will be popular, mine haven't been. All you can do is try your best and the guild members that do join in will apreciate your effort.
If people never participate in the guild, you can send out a letter, then ban those that refuse to participate. I've done that. ^^; Some people will willingly leave that aren't interested, other will just ignore you. And it's not a big deal, once you get things going again, you'll get new members.
I hope that was helpfull. *hugs xdarkshade* ^___^

ok, I'm almost finished with that, so since you asked first you get the first pick. ^^ You don't get to pick yet though, not until I get the rooms maped out and the description finished. ^^;
