What types of things do you have problems writing, whether it's because you don't like writing it or you can't write it well. Perhaps there's a certain genre you can't write or a cliche in fanfiction you refuse to write. Or maybe there's a character in your fandom whose voice you can never pin down.

For example, I rarely, if ever, write female characters. I also have problems writing deathfic.

ROMANCE! I hate writing romance; it always comes out cliché or stupid! For me I have a real problem leveling with guys, and there by, because in romance fics, the male should be the dominant, it's really hard for me. So I just refuse to write it, unless it’s similar to arsenic and old lace in the respect that though it is a romantic comedy, no real romance is necessary. It’s merely the fact of how the romance dies, that makes it a comedy, that and the corpses…but that’s off subject.

The weird thing, I have found is how little authors put into the vocals. In Naruto there is one person who every other word from is mouth is 'troublesome' now every character says that word, however no one else has characters say that because it's like trademarked, by one character, so in that respect it's hard to pin down, the artists voice to copy it into fanfiction, people as a general rule use their speak as opposed to the translation's speak, which makes it weird, the entire language barrier makes it difficult.

Humor fiction...I've never really tried that before. I doubt I could do it, just because humor writing doesn't seem to be a part of my "genetics". Everything I've written has been serious, pretty much. Unless you count the short story I did for English class last year, with a "fishing hunter" as one of the characters.

Sex. Never had it, therefore can't write it.
And 1R. For non-Gundam-Wing-obssessed personalities, that's a HeeroxRelena pairing. Just can't see it. Can't see Wufei gay, either. Or Quatre straight. sweatdrop
I also can't write first-person, except for Heero Yuy of Gundam Wing I've tried many times, with many different characters, but they were all so horrible that I couldn't bring myself to post them anywhere.
Other than that, I can write pretty much anything.

*does a perfect impersonation of a tomato*
But.... but.... I.... I can't write it! I tried, really, I did, but I have major trouble reading sex scenes! It's way too intimate for me to read without feeling like I'm invading the characters' privacy. Which is why my little sister will die a horrible, painful, lingering death for all the fics she recommended to me without telling me they were loaded with sex. I'll never forgive you for Playing Pirates, b***h! You hear me?! Never!

Sometimes I have the problem of writing dialogue in a vacuum - that is, the characters talking and doing nothing else, noticing nothing else. I've been getting better at that, trying to keep in mind the environment the conversation's taking place in - if it's hot or cold or noisy. RolePlaying has helped as well, leading me to studying the characters I write more closely. The little gestures they make, their body movement, the things that catch their eye, their posture... I can still get repetetive sometimes, though. There are only so many times you can push your hair back. wink

There are a lot of characters I just don't try to write, because I can't really...get their voice in my head. It's why I usually have trouble with ensemble fics. Hopefully I'll overcome that, too, get a bit braver. The only way you can get better is to practice, after all, and sometimes I surprise myself.

I don't have much interest in romance unless the relationship is very complex, and luckily in my fandoms they usually are. Again it's the matter of the characters - I need to be able to write both of them well for it to work, especially if the pairing is unconventional. I don't write many of my own favourites for that very reason.

Fight scenes I can't do worth a damn. Luckily none of my ficlets have required it, but if one does...I figure I'll just have to study action scenes both written and onscreen, and keep at it until I'm satisfied.

Not neccesarily. That's sometimes the case, certainly, but in many cases the relationship is either completely equal or the female is the dominant partner, subtly or overtly.

Well She said SHould be the domenint. Well Romance fics are my favorite and I always make the guy dominate.I guess.... But it depends on the charter. I think your right it mostly depends on the charter!

I guess I have trouble writting long term stories. It's not really a problem like yours but I guess you can say I have a short attention span. I also have trouble with using he said she said too much too. It's a habit biggrin

My problem with chapter fics is that I don't know when to end them. They just go on and on and on and on and on and- you get the idea, I hope.

i have trouble writing fighting scenes. I can do a little one just fine, but the full out ones where they start phisically fighting...especally loveless type ones with spells or something like that i just get caught up and go blank!!!! my way around it is to just focus on what charcter is thiinking and such instead of moves but it still ends up....ehhhhhh stressed

I can't write dialogue. It always comes out cheesy and stupid. I am also terrible at romance. I have never had any kind of romance in my life that was directed at me.
