Day 1
Evening/Night

------------------------

[Continuation of Previous RP]
Start:The Hollowed Fountain
Continuation #1: The Office/Main Desk

------------------------

Christopher cried out in surprise when Erik's legs gave out on him. He now was practically dragging the teenage boy on his feet. However, that would only wear both Chris and Minna out so he decided to hoist Erik into his arms and carry the boy that way. They soon reached the cabin and Chris motioned for Minna to open the door. "Please, hurry!"

Rushing inside, Christopher quickly set Erik on the bed and let out a cry of pain when that ache pulsated in his tailbone once more. It felt as if the bone had shifted or something. Chris doubled over himself and kneeled over by the bed, breathing heavily. When he was able to surpress the pain some, Christopher asked the drowsy Erik, "Do you need anything to drink at all? A glass of water perhaps?"

Laying on the bed, Erik almost finally got to sleep when Chris cried out. Erik's body tried to let a yell of shock and surprise, but he had no energy left in him at all, so all he could manage was a light grunt, before turning over onto his side and fell asleep.

"Hey, you sit down." Minna told Christopher as she walked over to him and placed both hands on either shoulder. She leaned to where she could look him in the eye.

"I think he'll be ok now that he's asleep," she motioned to Erik, "But you don't seem so hot. Just sit here and tell me if you need anything."

Shaking his head, Christopher told Minna, "No... Nothing. I just need to rest is all."

Chris sat for a few minutes in silence and finally attempted to stand. He let out a sigh as he reached his feet and looked at her. He then suggested, "We should probably head back to the office and let him be for now. I'll come by in the morning and check on him."

She shot him a quizzical look.

"Hmmm....ok. But if you need anything, please tell me. And your right, I need to get back to the front desk." she turned and began walking back, passing a look over her shoulder.

"Don't worry, I'm coming," Christopher said as he followed Minna out the door.

Before he closed the door behind him, Chris took a moment to glance back at the teenage boy, Erik. He hoped that the boy would be well until morning. Christopher then closed the door behind him and went to go catch up with Minna.

As he walked away, Chris muttered under his breath, "See you in the morning kid."

Day 2
Morning

------------------------

The alarm clock going off, Erik groggily awoke. Turning the alarm off, he stood up and took a good look at his surroundings. Most of last night a blur, he thought to himself that he must've checked himself into a cabin. With that, simply closed the curtains and went back to sleep.

--2 hours later--

Now ready to get up, Erik made his bed, took a shower, put on some fresh, clean clothes, and turned on the TV, only find a news channel that talking about how they're searching for him. Fumbling with the remote, he quickly changed the channel.

Pouring himself a glass of water, he sat down in the living room of his cabin, trying to remember what exactly happened last night.

Christopher made his way to Cabin #3, his breathing heavy. The walking was only upsetting his swollen tailbone even more. It made the small distance seem so much more grueling and longer. In his mind, he made a note of picking up some Icy Hot pads once he went into town later on that day. He would need them if he was going to make it through his planned activities with Glacus and Boon.

Finally reaching the front stoop of the third cabin, Chris knocked as he called out, "Erik? It's Christopher, the guy from last night who helped you get checked in. Are you alright?"

Chris hoped that Erik would answer the door soon and let him in so he could have a seat and rest.

Now that he was rested and wide awake, Erik was in his usual shy, nervous self, so when Chris knocked on the door, Erik nearly jumped out of his chair. After recalling the incident last night and remembering exactly who Chris was, Erik made his way over and opened the door for Chris, saying "I'm fine, come on in."

Sitting back down, Erik noticed that Chris was in a bit of pain and asked "Are you okay? You look like you got hit in the back or something."

Christopher quickly seated himself on the couch and let out a groan. He was in so much pain, someone would think Chris's back was singing grand opera. Thankfully the firm support of the couch pressing against the swollen area of his back absorbed some of the sensations. That's all he needed, just a little relief. He finally answered Erik, stammering some, "I'm fine, just -- my back is in a lot of pain. It--It just hurts a lot -- is all. I think it's swollen or something. All I know is that it hurts!"

Chris inhaled and exhaled a few times before he spoke again. "I'm going to see the doctor tomorrow. In the meantime, I'll probably go into town and pick up some Icy Hot pads or something. I need them badly."

"Anyway, how about you level with me," Christopher changed the subject. "Why are you here really? Did you run away or something? I promise I won't tell anyone. I just would like to know is all."

Keeping his eyes locked on the teenage boy, Chris waited for Erik's reply.

Chris' question immediately caused Erik to fall apart. He started to sweat a little, his eyes were looking all over the place, trying to find a way out, and his breathing started to get heavy. Eventually, he answered in a tiny voice "Y-yes...". Erik was panicking inside, worried about whether Chris would really keep his promise and not tell. At that moment, Erik just wanted to jump out of his chair and run out like a madman.

Christopher continued to stare at Erik, his eyes remaining very comforting. "What happened to cause you to run away?" Pointing to a seat on the couch, he added, "Mind sitting over here?"

He once again awaited Erik's response, whether it be him breaking down and crying or darting out the front door as quickly as possible. Chris hoped Erik would not panic on him. He only wished to be of assistance and not to scare the teenage boy. Erik already seemed to be getting antsy judging from his behavior. Christopher began to anticipate himself for those possibilities and just continued to watch Erik very attentively.

Standing up out of his seat, Erik glanced at Chris, then at the door, then at Chris again, and then at the door again. Thoughts racing, he had to make a decision now. His leg gave a slight twitch, as if it wanted to run out the door on it's own.

Erik walked over to the couch and sat next to Chris and sighed, unsure how to answer his question. The real answer was way too complex, so Erik simply summed it up into one word "Well, I guess you could say it's stress...".

Stress couldn't begin to describe the reason why Erik ran away. Since he was 10, Erik's life was a cry for attention. Having two brothers, he was ignored a lot, by his parents, by his cousins, by aunts & uncles, nearly everyone. As he got older, more problems started to develop, he started to become terrified of looking people in the eyes and nearly blacked out when he had to get up in front of the class. Also, while Erik was more of a quiet, geeky kid, his brother Christopher was outgoing, in wrestling and football, and was basically a social butterfly. Erik's father never took too much interest in Erik, so the boy never really had a male role model to look up too, and therefore had many self-confidence issues. As he entered high school, Erik and his father would have arguments, which usually resulted in Erik getting hit with a belt. The final straw for Erik came on May 1st, one week ago, when his grandmother, who was in a coma since September, passed away. Erik was very close to his grandmother, as she was one of the few people who understood and cared about him. Something inside of Erik snapped that night, he simply got up in the middle of the night, packed his things, stole his mom and dad's credit cards and $400, and left, just like that.

Christopher raised an eyebrow and pushed further by inquiring, "What kind of stress?"

Leaning forward a little, Chris rested his chin on the palm of his hand and waited for the next response. He already knew that trying to find out what happened was going to be like pulling teeth. But as some consolation to himself, Christopher thought, 'Well... at least he didn't bolt for it.'
