Day 3
Afternoon

------------------------

Continuation of Previous RP:
The Hollowed Fountain

------------------------

Peter unlocked the front door and pushed it open, walking inside with some of Bobby's luggage. The cabin was enormous and luxurious. The wood was very darkened, rich color and there was a lot of space & freely open areas due to archways. There was a beautiful fireplace and off to the corner in the dining room, there was a personal bar visible. Turning his gaze to his friend's son, Peter exclaimed, "If you think this is nice, wait till you explore the rest. There is also a jacuzzi and the TV has cable."

"If you want, I can put away from groceries for you," offered Peter, trying to be very pleasant. It was the first time in a while where the older man wasn't just accomodating, but very excited as well and it was slightly apparent.

Bing turned to Peter and said, "Thanks, you can just put them on the counter, I'll take care of them."

He walked around the cabin, and let out a impressed whistle, "Wow, this place makes my dorm look like a dump." Room to room he went, now he knew why his dad talked about it so much, it was one of those things you practicaly bragged about.

"This place is awesome." He said with a smile.

"Alright then," Peter obliged as he set all the bags down on the kitchen counter. As he set them down, the older man couldn't help but notice the abundance of junk food. Peter shook his head and scoffed slightly, smiling no less. He entered the main area of the cabin once more and shook his head at Bobby a little, chuckling. "You know, if you want real food, I could get you something to eat for dinner. All you have in there is junk, caffiene, and beer. Despite contrary belief amongst most men, it's not exactly the best diet for you."

Peter chuckled again and sat down on the couch. Looking up at Bobby once more, he asked, "So how long do you plan on staying?"

"I'm single, in college, and majoring in engineering, cooking is the least of my worries." Bing said, talking about the food, "Besides, I think I might get something in town, there's a nice restraunt I saw around here."

Bing looked at Peter and joined him on the couch.

"About a week or two, just before break ends, I think." He said, staring at the fireplace.

Peter commented, "Oh, you mean that Italian restaurant? Yeah, they're alright. I still prefer a home cooked meal though. What can I say? I'm old fashioned that way."

Noticing how Bobby was staring at the fireplace, he offered, "Do you want me to start it up for you?"

"A fire would be nice." Bing said, It was nice out, but hey, you've got a fireplace in your cabin, you used your fireplace whether you needed to or not.

"What do you have in mind for dinner then?" He asked, it was his dad's side talking, why go to a restraunt when you can have meal with a friend?

Bing hated that kind of thinking, but there was some logic behind it.

Standing, Peter crossed over to the other side of the room, setting a couple logs into the fire place along with one of the easy light kind. He then took out a disposable lighter from his pocket and let the flammable tab on the easy light log. It took a few minutes for it to catch entirely, but after that the cabin was soon filled with the scent of the burning wood. "Presto!" exclaimed Peter as he sat once more, but this time in the chair next to couch.

"Anyway," he continued as he thought about what the possibilities for dinner were. "...Maybe some barbequed ribs or maybe in a barbeque pizza. I'm not sure. All I know is I'm in the mood for something with barbeque sauce. What do you think?"

Peter turned his focus back to Bobby, waiting for an answer. As he waited, Peter placed his hands on the back of his head and leaned back in the chair he was sitting it.

"Sounds good, I'll get a couple beers." Bing said, going into the kitchen and taking the bottles out from the pack in the grocery bags. Nothing like a good dinner and a beer with someone you knew to keep the blues away. His stomach grumbled softly, asking for food. Travelling does that to people, that's why airplanes have meal services, even though you can barely call that stuff food. Ah well, you can't expect a lobster dinner when your twelve inch table folds down in front of you.

Bing came back with two open bottles of beer and handed one to Peter.

"To dad." He said simply, raising his beer.

"Yes, to Derek..." Peter said, ending in a trailoff as he opened the top of his beer and drank from it. "Anyway, I have to get back to the office for now. I have to wait there until my night clerk comes in at about 6pm. Once she gets here though, we'll have some dinner ok?"

Peter guzzled down more of his beer and then stood, heading for the door. "I'll be back in a little bit Bobby. It's good to see you again. Hope you get settled in ok and enjoy your stay."

Opening the cabin door, Peter left and headed back to the main office.

Bing sighed as he laid on the couch. He took one last swig of the remains of his beer and sat the bottle on the table. He streched, and yawned once more. So this was his folk's place huh? No wonder they came here every summer. If he could, he'd come here quite often. Well, he could now, at least on breaks and all that, probably be a nice first date... He smacked himself gently and reached for a bottle cap on the coffee table.

If Bing had a ball, he'd throw it up and down, up and down, it was just one of those things you did lying down bored. Course, he didn't have a ball, so he contented himself with throwing around a beer bottlecap. The piece of metal clattered on the wood floor. He was left to stare at the ceiling until the drowsyiness reached his eyes.

Day 3
Evening/Night

------------------------

Bing dropped his sketchbook on the coffee table and turned on the TV. He idly flipped through the channels before turning it off again. Italian food took a while to digest, that's for sure.

He let out a sigh and laid down, staring at the ceiling until he drifted off to sleep.

The dessert was beautiful. There seemed to be nothing but sand and brush for miles, the sun was about to rise. Bing was sketching furiously in his sketchbook, capturing the moment in pencil. He paused to look at his work, it was only then that he noticed a long, crooked line in the sand.

A sand colored fox appeared from nowhere, on the other side of the line.

"Hiya." The fox said.

"Hey."

"Whatcha doin?" The fox asked, crawling over to his lap, wanting to see his sketches.

"Just drawing the sunrise." Bing replied, watching the orange orb, absentmindedly stroking the fox's head, "What about you?"

"Just winning a race." The fox looked up at Bing, and smiled.

That's when he woke up.

Pulling up right next to the cabin, Peter got out of the car and grabbed the plastic grocery bags up in his hands. He then walked up to the door of the cabin and knocked. Without giving opportunity for an answer, Peter called out, "Bobby? Are you home? I have the stuff for the barbeque."

He was excited to just finally have some real company after all these years. Running the resort was pretty dull at times and it was nice to just have someone to share some time with, a reason he was usually so pleasant. Peter knew what it was like to be alone and it was something he preferred to avoid if he had a choice. Bobby's arrival made him feel like he had some purpose other than attending to the affairs of this place he owned. For him, it was almost like being a dad.

"Bobby?" he called out again, a little eagerness in his voice this time.

Bing opened his eyes and looked around the cabin groggily. He let out a sigh, just a dream. Pity. The dessert seemed peaceful, almost like home, even. At the very least he wanted that sketch of the sunrise, it seemed to be going a lot better than the river.

It was probably homesickness getting the best of him. He dismissed the dream as another thought.

His head perked up from over the couch and to the door. He had heard Peter's voice.

"Yeah!" Bing called back, opening the door.

"So what we've got?" He asked, eyes on Peter.
