Dyani's History
Dyani is the fourth fawn born to an older, bad-tempered outspoken hind names Kaliska. Even though not exactly unhappy with her life, her mother was still a bitter hind who was not afraid to give other deer a piece of her mind. All her fawns had been to different stags, who won her for her handsome looks. Kaliska never had much to do with any of those males except for the general mating, and each Anlach she would be claimed by someone new. With already three fawns grown and making their way in the world, that next Anlach Kaliska was won by an Outrider stag known for his eccentricities.
Niyol was a rather strange stag who hadn't taken a mate in all his seven years. But then Kaliska caught his eye. When asked he admitted to being attracted by her blunt way of speaking and fiery temper. Thus she bore him a daughter, who was given a cursory once over and then named Dyani. In fact, Niyol seemed more impressed by her birth than her mother, refusing to leave her side for three days after the birth. Quite unusual for a stag.
Not given much attention meant that Dyani grew up quite self-sufficient. The world astonished her and captured all her attention. By the time she'd grown into a rather pretty doe, she already had a reputation for being an addlebrained fool. The other hinds muttered, saying she 'took after her father'. Yet the female never seemed to notice, she simply stared up at the sky and marvelled at the world.
Time went by. Dyani continued to wander along, never making friends but seemingly happy in her own little world, while, strangely enough, Kaliska grew quite fond of Niyol. And then gave him a son, where before she'd birthed only daughters. Dyani was forgotten for the most part, though occasionally she would wander by to see her little brother and chat with her father. It's Niyol that knows her best and whenever he sees her, he gives a quirky smile, as he knows that the deer around her are only seeing the tip of the iceberg.
