So You Wanna Submit a Character
Character Sheet  So you wanna submit a character, eh? Well, fill out the form below and post it here. Then wait for me to look it over (shouldn't take any longer than 24 hours), and I'll get back to you. Remember to be original and creative! Here are some guidelines, though, in case you need help:[Screenname] Your Gaian Screenname[Character Name] Pick a first and last name that's not too hard for others to figure out how to pronounce.[Gender] Male or Female[Age] In years[Physical Description] Try to keep your characters fairly modern and "normal." No crazy sci-fi wierdness or anime tentacles No characters from other time periods or that wear archaic fashions unless there's a reason for it. Crazy hair colors are fine if they fit your character, but they are NOT natural.[Picture (Optional)]
Please don't stretch the page [Occupation & Country of Origin] Everyone on the ship is vacationing from something. What does your character do for a living? Also what country is he/she from? Remember, this cruise goes all over the world.[Escaping from] People don't just go on vacations if they're happy. Well some of them do, but not here. Everyone on this cruise ship is on vacation because they're too stressed out with whatever may be going on at home. What is it that your character is trying to get away from?[Personality] Try to stay away from character stereotypes, i.e., "The Loner," "The Nerd," "The Jock," etc. Be sure to include a way most readers will be able to relate to your character, as well as one or more character "flaws." He has blonde hair, but his red eyes remind those who see them of fiery lava. He is muscular in built, the mass of his muscles making him seem even bigger than his height. His face bears one huge scar running from the top of his left eye to the tip of the right side of his chin. [Occupation & Country of Origin]: Ralth Enferit is an ex-Marine, only recently honorably discharged. He is of Norwegian/Native American descent, and was raised in South Texas. [Escaping from]: Ralth Enferit is escaping from the hustle and bustle of the city he moved to after being discharged. He hopes to find a new sense of purpose and maybe some relaxation on Cruise Ship Odyssey. [Personality]: Ralth usually tends to be harsh, seeming not to care about anyone other than himself. He can be pushy and arrogant, but he never loses his temper or gets emotional...at least not in public. Ralth holds high moral standards that some would consider a little extreeme. He does not use foul language, drink, or smoke. He can usually be seen walking around with his pet cat, Tiny, on his right shoulder. [Bio]: Ralth was orphaned shortly after his birth, which was three weeks premature. Before he was even strong enough to leave the hospital, he was adopted by the pastor of a Baptist church and his wife. In high school he finished in the top quarter of his class, stating only that he was spending too much time with his Tae-Kwon-Do to do much studying. After graduating from college with a degree in forensics, specializing in investigation. To repay his college loans, Ralth joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a sharpshooter for five years, where he earned the nickname "Falcon" for being the most accurate Marine sharpshooter to date. His record was exemplary until he decided to disobey orders and snuck into a hostile area to rescue five captured marines and two civilians from a terrorist cell. At the courtmartial he was applauded for his actions, but told that because he violated the chain of command disciplinary action would have to be taken. After being honorably discharged, Ralth Enferit moved to Austin, Texas and found a job as a martial arts instructor. After serving a month in prison for assaulting a police officer who had written him a speeding ticket, his friends talked him into taking a cruise to relax. [Additional Info]: Ralth is a black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do, excercises regularly, and was trained by the Marines as a sharpshooter. He is also proficient with some bladed weapons and pistols. He is Caucasian with Dark Brown hair, brown eyes and has a sight tan. He is Athletic in build, and is clean shaven. [Occupation & Country of Origin]: Christofski is a Training Consultant for the highest paying Private Military Organization. He was raised on the Iran/Afghanistan/USSR border. [Escaping from]: Christofski has recently completed a contract and realizing that is has been years since his last vacation he decided to take a nice relaxing holiday on the Cruise Ship Odyssey. [Personality]: Christofski is best described as weird, he will show no emotion when a child is killed, yet will frown when he sees road kill. He is the type of person who will smile and be a friend to his enemies while planning how to ruin their lives. Yet no one could tell by looking at him. [Bio]: Christofski was raised by black market merchants. He was raised by them to be a solider, salesmen, and translator, being able to speak and write in Arabic, Russian, and English by the age of seven. Shortly before his eighth birthday he witnessed his parents killing by the Soviet Government, he escaped before he was found by them, and ended up in St. Catherine orphanage in St. Petersburg where he was beat and forced to work 14-16hr days. After his twelfth birthday he was adopted into a family in the USA. He ended on a farm by Jackson, Michigan. He graduated his high school class valedictorian. When he turned 18 he was notified by Bank Leu AG of Switzerland that his parents left him their ill-gotten fortune. After high School he attended Western Michigan University where he acquired degrees in Middle Eastern Culture, Chemical Engineering, and Physics. After his graduation he went back to Russia and continued with his parent’s occupation. Thanks to being cautious and lucky he has managed to stay off of Interpol and the Americans Eyes. She is an art major, and though skilled at drawing she has no interest in it. She feels out of place in school, and that she would fit in better living alone in the woods or parhaps in an earlier century.
[Escaping from] Life in general, her life in particular. She wishes she could permanently lose her friends, family and reponsibilities, and would if only there were something else to go to.
[Personality] Listless, for the most part. Easygoing, has a sense of humor but often seems withdrawn. But she gets strangely intense when talking about very certain topics; nature and the wilderness, defensive weaponry and martial arts among them.
[Bio] Born to an army family, which meant she moved around the country often and twice to Canada. At a young age she got in the habit of running away from home, once almost getting permanantly lost while they were moving. --==*[A|C|C|E|P|T|E|D]*==-- [Screenname] Kiyoshi the Flaccid [Character Name] Kiyoshi Nitazumi [Gender] Male [Age] 23 [Physical Description] At 5'5" and only 120lbs., Kiyoshi Nitazumi is far from an impressive specimen. His dark hair is cut short and has a tendency to stick out at odd angles, but he refuses to comb it or use any form of styling product. His eyes, elusive behind the oval lenses of his jet black sunglasses, stare into the inky emptiness which is his world. When he can be bothered to remove his sunglasses, his eyes are a stunning blue-white. He tends to dress comfortably, but with a degree of formality, feeling that just because he can't appreciate the way he looks, that doesn't mean he should look frumpy. He walks with a cane, but seems uncannily aware of his surroundings. [Picture (Optional)] [Occupation & Country of Origin] Kiyoshi is a writer for Yamada-Tanaka Productions, the company responsible for Japan's most successful anime series in recent memory, Nihon no Genki. His stories usually involve flawed characters overcoming daunting adversity. [Escaping from] The executives of Yamada-Tanaka Productions have elected to cancel Nihon no Genki at the end of this season, therefore putting Kiyoshi out of a job. As a consolation, he's been transfered to America to begin work on a new show the executives have planned. However, until the transfer is complete, Kiyoshi has nothing to do, so he spent some of the money he had saved up and bought a ticket on the Cruise Ship Oddessey. [Personality] Kiyoshi is a sarcastic punk, most of the time. His scathing wit makes him hard to get along with, but those who get to know him find him to be ultimately delightful and a fiercely loyal companion. He has very little respect for people whom he considers intellectually beneath him, and has no problem showing it. [Bio] Kiyoshi was born blind, and so has never had trouble coping with adversity. He has learned to be overlty defensive around others, if only because people assume that his blindness makes him weak. People who make this mistake are quickly corrected, generally to their chagrin and embarrassment. He has few people he can call true friends, but those people he comes to like treasure him for the loyal companion that he is. He was raised in Japan, attended all available levels of schooling, and has become quite fluent in both Japanese and English. [Occupation & Country of Origin] Originally from Nigeria, has just completed an Information Technology course and was immediately hired by and American company. He has moved to Florida and the job starts in two weeks.
[Escaping from] Immigration. The move wasn't completely...ahem...legal. The company has promised to protect him while he is employed, but until then he'd rather stay off the mainland and out of trouble.
[Personality] A sunny disposition, always a smile on his face, but no one really knows what he's feeling. He doesn't speak too often because his English isn't perfect, and when he does talk he isn't a great conversationalist. Never talks about his past in Nigeria, which was not the best of times.
[Bio] Born in an average sized village, traditional family structure and culture. He was first introduced to computers by a naturalist and researcher visiting the area, and he soon learned everything there was to know. But his family shunned this kind of learning, and encouraged him to run the family store. He had an arranged marriage to a nice girl, and she gave birth to his first son two years ago. But then tragedy struck; his father, wife and son were killed by a mysterious virus, as well as much of his villiage. [Personality] What can he say he’s a gruff but lovable gangster who is wanted by the police, he’s mostly comedic, when something can go wrong it most of the time does, but it does have some funny outcomes.

Her facial features are feminine, but everything else about her is not. She has natural curves on her body, but she takes great pains to hide them from view. She is most commonly found in her favorite pair of ripped and mutilated jeans and a white wifebeater, with a flannel buttonup shirt tied around her waist. On her left shoulder is a tattoo of a marijuana leaf. She has short brown hair and grey eyes. She works out often and carries herself in an unfeminine way. [Occupation & Country of Origin] Her occupation is that of bartender ont he ship. Her country of Origin is the United States, New York City in particular. [Escaping from] Libby ran away from New York to get away from an ex-boyfriend (see "bio"). [Personality] She has a friendly countenance and loves to talk to people, though she will not often be seen INITIATING conversation. She has an immediate empathic link to almost everyone she meets. She likes to read, she plays the drums, and she absolutely loves classic rock. [Bio] Libby was born and raised in the heart of New York City. Her mother left her father a long time ago and he was left with Libby. Libby's father, an actor in classic theater (and not a bad one at that), was an alchoholic who abused her in almost any way possible. In fact, to this day she still has nightmares about it and has trouble dealing with all that has happened to her. On the streets of New York, she was taught how to fight for herself, and although she was never taught how to use a gun, she did learn how to wield a knife as well as hand-to-hand combat. When she was eighteen she moved away from her father and lived on her own as a waitress. During this time she had a two-year love-hate relationship with an older fellow named Xavier who turned out to be an abusive alcoholic and a schitzophrenic (meaning he often saw things that were not really there). Needless to say, they broke up. She also became quite sexually promiscuous and got pretty heavily involved in hard drugs like cocaine and heroine. She had been an insomniac, as well as an empath, for as long as she could remember and this was her only way of coping. A year after her relationship with Xavier ended, Libby entered the field of bartending for a while. Unable to distance herself from either Xavier, who claimed that he still loved her and had changed, or her father, both whom would not stop following her, she moved on to become a bartender on the Cruise Ship Odyssey, where she would be unreachable to them both. There she has continued her work bartending for several years. [Additional Info] She is still getting over her many addictions, and has just recently been getting into meditation as a way to practice self-control. Her body is usually held straight and relaxed. She's half-black (mocha) and half-Native-American. When she's not in her uniform, she usually wears plain, comfortable clothing that resembles medical scrubs. Or, if she absolutely MUST leave her living quarters but isn't going to be on duty, she will wear loose, black pants, inconspicuous black shoes, and a grey tank-top. She always wears a belt. She doesn't wear jewelry or accessories very often. When on-duty she wears her uniform and she keeps an absolutely spotless and seamless appearance. [Occupation & Country of Origin] She's the captain of the Cruise Ship Odyssey, and her Country of Origin is the United States. [Escaping from] Nothing yet. She has very little pathology, but once people start dying on her ship, you'll see her character start to take on a little more shape. [Personality] She can be fun to be around, and enjoys recreation, but when she's working, she keeps things strictly business. She's a good friend and confidant to anyone who chooses to come to her, but can be intimidating to many people who only see her in "military" settings. She is often quiet if she doesn't feel there is anything to say or worth saying. She's a good diplomat, especially with people in positions of power. She will automatically dislike you if you call her by her first name. It's her greatest pet peeve. Also, she's very a**l-retentive, paying a lot of attention to detail and cleanliness. [Bio] Ziggi has wanted to be the captain of a cruise ship for as long as she can remember. She came from a rich, military family and grew up going to military school on a military base. She has a pretty smile and is usually happy. She is always wearing a silver cross, and she never wears gold. She is moderately feminine; she enjoys wearing dresses, and she always smells lightly like peppermints and vanilla. [Picture (Optional)] [Occupation & Country of Origin] College Graduate. United States. [Escaping from] School. She doesn't know what she wants to do with her life just yet, and as a graduation gift her parents paid for her to go on a cruise as a vacation. [Personality] Layla tries to get to know people. She's friendly, and you would say she was talkative--but she was born deaf. She doesn't have very good grammar, because the grammar of sign language is so different from regular English. Even if someone doesn't know sign, she'll attempt to communicate with them, either by writing on a notepad that she takes everywhere with her, or by charading of pantomiming her idea to get it across. She's an anxious learner, and can come off as flirtatious at times because she loves to smile and laugh. [Bio] As stated before, Layla was born deaf. She was privately tutored at her home in the country until she was old enough to go to junior high, when she entered a residential school for the deaf. In the summers, she would come back home and stay with her parents, who were very loving, and her younger sister. She went on to attend Gualladet University in the District of Columbia. After she graduated with her degree in General Studies (because she isn't sure whatshe wants to do with her life, remember?), her parents sent her on this cruise. Her face is relatively feminine, but her nose hints at being a couple of millimeters too big. Her cheekbones are high, under large eyes that boast two different colors; one is blue, and the other is green. She is short in stature, but she packs quite a punch. Her slightly thick frame is host to a buff upper body. Her legs are fast but not strong. She enjoys gymnastics as a hobby and as a result, she's flexible. Although she is proud of her physical strength and boyishness, she secretly wishes there were more boys who appreciated girls like her. There is a long tattoo of a parrot on her neck; she absolutely adores birds of all kinds, but the parrot is her favorite. [Picture (Optional)] [Occupation & Country of Origin] Jack of all trades; Country of origin is the UK. [Escaping from] Everything. Cinder is the kind of person who can never stay in one place for too long. This is just another place she's happened to drift to. [Personality] She is daring and unafraid of danger or death. She is blunt and not afraid to say whatever is on her mind, regardless of whatever taboos lie behind her words. She can be a smartass at times, but generally knows how to get what she wants. She is a drifter, unable to stay in one place for very long without getting bored out of her mind. I stress again that she is not afraid to die. She'll end up falling for a female who is sweet and charming and turn her world around, or else a man who can be dominating and dangerous and pull her head out of the clouds. Either way it has to be someone whom she finds intriguing. [Bio] Cinder was born with HIV; her mother, Gabrielle, was a drug addict and contracted the virus through a tainted needle. Years later (and not knowing yet that she had contracted HIV) Gabrielle became pregnant, but during the early months of the pregnancy she found out she had progressed to full-blown AIDS. Since the median life-expectancy of an AIDS patient is only a little over nine months, she was not expected to live through her entire pregnancy. Toward the middle of the last trimester Gabrielle was very weak; near death. She opted for a caesarian section, though she knew the baby may be born prematurely, knowing that her chances of surviving it were slim. She bled profusely into her abdomen during the surgery and died, but Cinder was saved. Between the treatments Gabrielle was getting and the C-Section she had, the chance of transmission from the mother to the baby was only 1%. Because she was born with HIV in spite of the transmission rate, Cinder is a pronounced Atheist, contending that no just creator would bestow a life-threatening disease upon an innocent, unborn creature. Because of her illness (which she keeps secret), Cinder is sexually abstinent. She is embarassed of it, and she fears what people might think of her if they knew she had HIV. She is also strongly opposed to most drug use because of the way her mother contracted the virus. However, neither will stop her from taking the "antiretroviral cocktails" (HAART treatments; basically several different pills that work together to keep the illness from progressing) prescribed by her doctor. From the above information, one might assume Cinder to have a cautious, reserved, and/or conservative personality. This is far from the truth. Her biographical information is as follows: Cinder was raised in Seattle by her mother's two best friends, Aonice (female) and Rioushu (male). Ironically enough, Cinder's adoptive parents were neither married, nor were they attracted to eachother in any way. They were actually quite adverse to one another. Cinder always had a way of getting anything she wanted with Aonice and Rioushu, though, and when she was in her pre-teens she persuaded them to let her go overseas to London to attend a private school. Unfortunately Cinder was intelligent; too intelligent for school, it seemed. Her smart-assedness (as well as her blatant disregard for rules) always ended her up temporarily suspended from school, and after a couple of years she dropped out. This didn't keep her adoptive parents from sending her money, though, and she continued to live comfortably in London until she turned twenty. During her years in London she did a lot of odd jobs, including modeling, bartending (she heard her birth-mother had been a bartender and it intrigued her), newspaper printing, and tattooing/piercing. Speaking of which, she is riddled with piercings and tattoos. Eventually she returned to the Seattle to be with her foster parents again, while working in a "Gentleman's Club." When her foster parents found out about this, it was the last straw; they kicked her out of their house and she lived under a bridge for a few months until she was able to find an apartment. When this started to bore her, she moved on to truck driving, but the constant deadlines and being told what to do and where to go eventually annoyed her to the point of quitting that job as well. It just so happened that when she decided to quit she was passing through Philladelphia, so she decided it was just as good of a place to stay as any. After another series of odd jobs there in South Philly, during which she saved up a lot of money, she got bored with life again and decied to board the Cruise Ship Odyssey.
