So what do you think? Does the game match up to it's original?
  Much better!
  A little of a disappointment...
(If you're like me...) I havn't played the original version of Dark Cloud... xD
I havn't played either of them... (go out and play, now! Dx)

Just a topic for those who have/are playing it to post their opinions on the game, etc. If you have any queries on it, just ask. Myself or some other Azalian may be able to help you out.

I began playing Dark Chronicle over a year ago, yet have only recently sat down and began to play through all of the game (I'm one of those people who continuously starts new game files). But yeah, although this isn't the case very often atall, this is one of those games where I actually know what I'm talking about. (Well, that and the Tomb Raider games. But that's another topic)

A couple of discussion topics to get you on your way... well, firstly, have you played it before? That's the base line. If you havn't, what do you think of the controls, gameplay, extras? Is the game to you addictive and/or time consuming? Would you recommend it to someone who has never played before?

And if you havn't played it before... are you interested in perhaps going out and buying your own copy? What do you think of the package design? In my personal position, I got my hands on a copy of it when I was up on a casual shopping trip with my family in a town about an hours drive from where i live. I had £20, and wandered into WH Smith.

I spotted Dark Chronicle on one of the lower shelves (usually where the not-so-big-a hits get placed, and it only cost about £15.
When I had a look at the back page, I firstly thought that it was one of those regular japanese blow-offs, and yet because of the price, I didn't think it would be that bad. I was completely and utterly slap bang wrong. It was brilliant gaming quality for the price, i think. But then, that's my opinion.

I think the key features that drew me in were... well, almost everything really. The photography and invention part is a little lagging, I must admit, but the weapon build-up and monster evolutions is without a doubt, very addictive. And since each dungeon floor is randomnly generated and no two floors are the same, you can quite happily run around hacking monster's heads open with your upgraded digi hammer or your small sword. But then, I do know also that this, in time, can get boring. Because you start off with such little in the game, and the extras are unlocked later, the game does lag, no doubt about it. But once the extras are unlocked... by golly, you can be in you're element.

Before we go any further, I will say that I'm trying my best not to type out any spoilers whatsoever, and since every Azalian is most likely not going to have played this game, I would plead with those of you who have played it, kepp the story line to yourself. If you want to talk about it with anyone, to the pms please! Thankyou...

Fishing
Aah, the delights of virtual fishing. In my opinion, virtual fishing can't get any better than Dark Chronicle. Fish big fish, enter competitions, raise them in an aquarium, race them at other cometitions, or just cook and eat them. That I love. This feature most definately has to be a game in itself, I reckon. Right now I'm working on my forst fishing rod; I don't have any lures for my lure rod as of yet. But that'll come. So what do you think of the whole fishing thing?

Spheda
a.k.a. Golf with a twist. Is it just me, or is this extremely, extremely difficult and annoying?!? Discuss.

Georama
I like. I like a lot. If there's anything I like, it's designing landscapes with a variety of objects to choose from. Downside? The cost of all those bloody elements to build them can drave someone up the wall. We don't all have time to go through each and every dungeon looking for them, and lazy people like me, who just buy them, suddenly notice a shortage in cash... oh poo. Luckily, I found a money making solution, which I won't post up as I so think of it a little like a cheat/glitch. But if you are short on cash and just can't figure out any money making schemes, just ask and I'll tell you...

So yeah, I can't think of anything else to talk about, other than the weapon upgrading, etc. I'm here to help people if they have any queries(although I havn't finished the game myself, you'll be surprised at how much I know... muahaha. Fear my knowledge). And now that I've talked you all to sleep (I would guess quite literally), you can now post your part. ;P

p.s. Not forgetting discussion on the characters, graphics, etc.

p.p.s. Also, if you havn't played it, and are interesred in trying it out, I would strongly recommend just buying the game, as it is time consuming in my opinion, and by renting, you are not possibly going to get through the whole game. But, eh, that's just me.

I am not sure whether I like the first one or this one better. It is nice having the train take you everywhere, but I like having all of the people like the first DC did.

Fishing was very nice! You can't get any better than virtual fishing. Spheda wasn't too bad actually...when you make it. It was hard as heck to play when you go to the caverns (the ocean stage)
