As some of you might know, back in 2004 krystal_dani and I put together the Angel Tree Christmas Charity.. Although it was just hastily thrown together a week before it opened, we managed to do some good with it.
Goal:I'd like to see the Angel Tree again this year.
What is needed: First and foremost Donators... (We had a handful of very generous people in 04 but out of the 37 cards, the two of us granted 29 of them)...
About the Angel Tree: We based ours off of the real-life Christmas Charity, where children from low income families would write their Christmas wishes on a card, and attach it to a large tree. Then people would pick cards and buy gifts for the children. (something like that... )
The way ours went was that Gaians could make a "card" with any item under 2k and on Christmas morning, they would recive the gift. If I can find the old thread, I'll post a link to it..
Original Angel Tree threadNew for 06:1. I'd like to up the 2k limit to 3-4k..
2. I'm also going to disallow asking for Gold... (items only)...
3. No Donation, game, or event items..(Sorry the main reason for this was to allow users to be able to get normal items they wanted, so they can continue to save for quests and such)...
4. I'm planning on taking cards around the middle of Nov.- Mid Dec.
5. I'll only go through with this if I can get at least 10-20 donators. (I can't really afford to fufill dozens of wishes, and I won't let any go unfufilled)...
So, if you are interested in helping or have any constructive critisim please post here... (I'm planning on holding it in the event hall, and maybe even using a Mule account for outside donators...)
