A rather class-less...dare I say sleazy...motel in west Durem. People here mind their own business, and turn a blind eye to just about anything; no one wants to rat out someone who might rat back. When you check in they ask if you're paying by the night, or by the hour. I wonder why...

The trunk had barely clunked shut before the taxi's engine screamed in mechanical agony as the driver floored it out of the parking lot.

Clavian watched the tail-lights from under his hood as they streamed away through the rain, taking a final drag from the dog-end of a rollup before flicking it away and checking his 9mm in it's holster under his left arm. Stooping to pick up his holdall, then adjusting his collar against the elements horizontal onslaught, he made his way into the office, remerging a few minutes later and trudging to one of the worn-looking lodges.

Stepping inside, he lowered his hood and grinned; it always amazed him how generous people in these parts were. Every time he reached for his wallet, people would look at him fearfully and offer him the strangest things: money from the till, the contents of the jewel display case...

The fact that his wallet was in his left pocket, he was sure, had nothing to do with it.

Shrugging out of the coat and draping it across the rickety chair, Clavian gave the room a quick once-over, stopping in front of the door.
Pulling the Sgian Dubh from the back of his belt, he used the short blade to unscrew the plastic cover of the fire escape plan bolted to the cheap wood then removed the envelope blu-tacked behind it.

Slitting the top of the envelope open with his knife before returning it to its sheath, he sat on the edge of the bed and shook the folded paper inside open.

Then turned it over to check there was nothing else, checking inside the envelope too, before gazing back at, and reading out, the 3 words printed on the sheet:

Now, you wait.

"...the Hell...?!"

Leaving the Westside allyway he made his way to one his favorite spots. Even though he was rather shy around the girls, he was a good bodygarud and bouncer for the small motel. Goin into the front desk area he took his usual seat and slide his hat over his eyes, waiting until he was called.

2 days and nothing...s0d this...
Clavian sat up on the bed, cracking various joints from his neck downwards before standing up and stretching. Pulling on a pair of faded navy combats and a clean shirt, ensuring his pistol and sgian dubh were accounted for before shrugging into an old leather jacket, he stepped out into the early morning light.

Lessee what else this town's got to show for itself.
A solitary figure, hands thrust deep into his jacket pockets trudging on down the road, drew little attention. And right now, that was a good thing.

He watched the man leave his room from under his hat in the main office. Turning his head to the owner, he just shook his head. Sighing he rested back in his chair.
"Another boring day on the easatside. But theres always something to do when your the gang leader here..." he comminted to himself with a smile.

The low hum of the processor fan and the tapping of keys were the only sounds in the room before Clavian sat back, stubbed out the dog-end on the desk then stretching and cracking his neck and knuckles.
Nothing anywhere. Mind you, all the news links are covered in crap about aliens and levitating cows right now...

Closing the lid on his laptop, he stood, ambling to the bathroom and stripping off then stepping into the shower.

((This is normally the point where some hot chick appears with a gun, right...? xd ))

((Or a crazy person with a bat))
::smiley walked into the parking lot giggling as he swayed in his strides, passing under street lights one would see the blood stains on his garbs, the mask he was wearing hiding the smile that never left his face. He passed through the door a bell signaling his entrance. The man behind the counter watching tv didnt even look up, "will it be by the hour or by the night" Smiley walked and leaned over the counter until he was but six inches from the mans face. Not hearing an answer the man tuned and jumed startled by the mask staring him in the face. "god damn punk what the hell?" He yelled, smiley cocked his head to the side::
Did they call?
::the man looked confused as all hell, "did who call"::
::smiley just giggled and began looking around as if following some unseen fairy::
::The inn keeper noticed the blood and the strange behavior of the man, he got to his feet setting the chair up he took a step twords the masked man "you ok kid?"::
::Smiley snapped his attention to the inn keeper in a flash he had the registry pen in his hand and he stabbed it through the inn keepers neck. The man sputtered and coughed, falling to his knees clutuching at his neck he fel to the ground, smiley nelt down cocking his head a bit before grabbing a perminent marker from the desk and drawing a smiley face on the dead mans face. He stood watching the tv for a sec and turned and walked out the door giggling::

As he shrugged into a faded black shirt, Clavian glanced out the window, spotting a somewhat unsteady figure leaving the office.

Probably just some drunken bum he thought.

A few minutes later, and he had added 'murderous' to the description as well. The man was certianly dead, no doubt there. Clavian had seen enough corpses to know what one looked like, and the pen through the neck, right through the jugular, was a tell-tale sign. Out of a form of professional habit, he placed a finger either side of the pen, looking for a pulse, and it came as no surprise when he didn't find one. Kneeling next to the departed, he didn't hear the car pull up, but looked up just in time to meet the gaze of a young woman, who screamed.

Reflexes took over; Flee the scene.

Leaping the desk from a standing start, he bolted out the door, the screams following him

::ping skids to a stop in the parking lot lights blazing, the door swings open and an uncoplike stilletto steps out. Gun drawn she looks for anyone suspicious.::

Damn the cops are fast here... guess they ran outta donuts

Hiding down behind a parked truck, he pulled the pistol from its holster, checking it, then reached into his pocket for a cigarette.
Instead, his fingers encountered something small and flexible, which when removed from his pocket, turned out to be the card he'd recieved after the fight.
Heh, get-out-of-jail-free card...? Maybe later

He peered round the back bumper, catching sight of the officer, and despite himself, checking her out.
They certainly didn't make 'em like that back home.

A Glock?
An unexpected move, certainly. Maybe it was time to play his one and only card.

Reholstering his gun, he pulled the card from his pocket again, casting a quick eye over the wording before standing slowly, hands raised, the card clearly visible between the middle and index fingers of his right hand

"Private business, Officer. TCM."

Clavian stared at the smoking hole through the card.
Maybe, just maybe, it'd be a good idea to play along...
