my friend practices shii-gan the japanese art of focusing one's energy not into objects, as we do, but into a raw form. whenever i have so much as a simple protection spell active( which is a daily thing) and i get within 10 feet of him, he seems unbalanced. does anyone have any advice?

Hmm maybe Shii-gan also gives the person that practices it the energy form another person. Or maybe his focusing on you intercepts with the prtotection.
Does he also cast spells?

Does he also cast spells? he wants to learn how, and wants me to teach him. i've referred him to the guild. i am willing to teach him, and others.

It's a reaction between your diffrent forces of energies on how they are pushed and pulling. It's a natural thing when two able bodies and their energies 'clash' against eachother. It happens between both a friend of mine who uses a diffrent way on doing things that have the same out come. He's also very traditional Chinese.

As Foxy says its two different energy types clashing into each other. It causes an inbalance though it shouldn't cause to many problems unless the energy is volitile and unstable. If thats the case you should be careful

If thats the case you should be careful his might be, since its seems to be so easily affected. Then he should control the energy better. Energy always looks for an outlet. And when the energy is unbalanced and has no where to go then it will look for ways out and can often be volitial.

Yes, keeping control to Engergy is the key when doing any rituals / spells.
You must be careful of the amoutn of force / power it will inhance.

now he's gone and used me as a "test subject". he used some technique to somehow disrupt the chakra/energy flow to my left arm. it's ok now, but @ first i thought it might've been something more serious.

That is nothing. It more a long the line that he can't use is power to keep it going on its own. He maybe able to do that someday so tell him not to use you in that way. It is just for your own power to stay as it is and so his power won't do something to it..
