Was the "Religion is the opiate of the masses" just a Lenin idea, because in my reading, I have never come across Marx saying anything about religion. Thanks

I agree, it delludes people from the common goal, the liberation and equality of the proletariat. Im pretty sure Lenin implemented it.

I'm not sure how much Marx wrote about religion, but I do know that that is a Marx quote. One of my favorites too.

Hmm, I'm not sure, I can't remember marx attacking religion in the manifesto but more than an offhand stab, but I could be wrong.
