This may come as a shock to you, but this is not in regards to ten year olds. This is in regards to people that are pre-menopause, but are still able to have children.
With this in mind, how should (or how would you, if you'd rather) an older woman who is not in such good physical condition deal with an unexpected pregnancy like this?

If it wouldn't kill the mother in the process, then I'd suggest that the woman have the baby. Financially, she could probably afford it at that time in her life, although if they go through/went through a divorce, that could be probably a little too much for her to handle alone. Maybe having a family member or a friend move in to help her out would be smart in that scenario. So, yeah, that's my opinion.

there's always more risks of handicaps because the eggs are older....that's what happens with down syndrome, a lot, that extra chromosome is usually there when the mother is over 35. Hmm. some women are premenopausal at 50. I always say if her life is in danger, then that's justification for abortion because it's self defense. If there's no danger I think she should have the child. My mom was born when Nan was 43, my brother was born when mom was 40. Neither of them were in good physical condition. Ever. But then again, they weren't in horrible condition. Eh. I still say if it's a danger to her health, abortion should be an option.

Age doesn't matter. Period. If her life in endangered that's when it matters. If they tell her that it's likely she will die if she continues pregnancy, then it's justifiable.
Simply because she's old and tired and doesn't want anymore babies doesn't mean anything.

Well, it depends alot on the overall heatlh of the woman involved, but I think once past 40, you should aska doctor before trying to get pregnant...

don't think the women in the situation was trying. Unless she had short term memory loss. It's not healthy, it's not gonna be an easy pregnancy, and the child is more at risk....but I still say the same as I always say.

i still don't like the idea. but if the mother would die, i think it's "okay." if the child would be still born or something like that, it's "okay." or if the child would have serious mental and/or physical handicaps, then it could be "okay." i still do not approve of it in any way.

I am 1 out of 7 children... my mom was the youngest out of 11..... I think her mom did a pretty good job despite her age at my mom's birth...
