It's been hinted several times in both book one and two that Iroh had a bad experience in Ba Sing Se. What is that secret?

Lord Haragorn maybe it's the fact that, you know... his SON died? I thought that happened away from Ba Sing Sei... (but I'm not sure) He did mention it was his greatest military defeat.

Here's what happened:
Iroh aka Dragon of the West's son died while they were invading Ba Sing Se.
Iroh could not handle the loss and ran away before burning it down to the ground like he intended to.

Iroh aka Dragon of the West's son died while they were invading Ba Sing Se.
Iroh could not handle the loss and ran away before burning it down to the ground like he intended to.  ~~~~~ OH,OK. Yet, Ba Sing Se is still a creepy place. gonk ~~~~~ Hail the Friendly Mushroom!

They say he ran away, but in book one Zhao mentioned a rumor about his trip to the spirit world, remember?
Yeah and in book 2 Iroh will have an episode of remembering his son and adventures in Ba Sing Se, thats a spoiler for Season Two but it'll light a fire under you. Maybe inspire some fanfics.

I saw the latest eppie, when iroh celebrates his son's birthday... that was sad... but I have one question, how did he die? killed, natural death? i really dont know, sorry if you think me ignorant...

  Iroh's son died in a battle when his troops were trying to get into Ba Sing Se.
