I'm a huge Andre Norton fan. I vaguely remember her Witch World series (which i need to read again) but recently I have best liked her A Scent of Magic. In fact, I liked it so much so that I had taken to making my nick Willadene, after the name of the protagonist, on some online forums for a bit.

I'm going to read a bit more into the Twin Towers and then start into her Moon Called book today and I'll put down my thoughts on it as I read it in here

I read some of the Witch World series once a long time ago. I remember liking it, but not much else.

There's a few of her stuff that I like. Scent of Magic being one of them. Alas, however, I am not taking to this novel as I thought I might. crying

So far, we have a very fit girl who worships something like Diana... She is on a world that has devolved from a more sophisticated civilization and right now she has met up with this furred dog-like woman and they are exploring some catacombs.

I will finish it but for now I've gone back to reading the last half of The Twin Towers to get more of my Gimli fix. I like Sam and Gimli the best.. Gimli because he loves Galadriel and Legolas so much and Sam because he loves Frodo so much heart

I love Sam. He's so brave and loyal and just.....wonderful. Sam's just as much the hero as Frodo is. Frodo would never have succeeded without Sam. heart

I agree.

and Frodo, bless him, never had all the chance to shine in the books as Sam did, since he was so burdened by the ring. He didn't have all that much of a role to play in TTT and in ROTK Frodo was so busy stumbling and suffering and trudging that we never got to know "The Real Hobbit." Everyone else got to show a lighter and less martyr like personality... so actually Frodo (even though he is the main character in many ways and the BIG hero of the trilogy) was one of my least favorite characters. crying

Poor Frodo!
