Here's how it works (Current rules as of 09.21.06 - check for regular changes):
In order to list a word, you need to make sure it starts with the letter the previous word ended with.
e.g. train
nap
It's that simple!
Other rules:
No repeating previously said words - tacking a 'Gundam' after a Gundam codename also doesn't work. Repetition should be caught immediately and replaced accordingly.
The first word is: SEED.
