I didn’t hear, but as soon as the man
in the charcoal suit
and grave manner
arrived on the floor, I knew what had been said.

Ooooh for some reason I didn't get this at first. I'm like, "a what on the floor, what? what?!" It's just me being dumb though, I should have got it right off considering my field of work.
