This is The Inn at Bath subforumHere we discuss our favorite reading. Books, short stories, poems, novellas, etc, gets a good mulling over in this subforum 1. HOW-TO get YOUR thread stickied! 2. Aria's Guidelines 3. How To Use The Bath Forums Simple Simon 1. Follow GAIA TOS 2. Obey the "Golden Rule" 3. No "dood" behaviors 4. Let your imagination pour out and your heart open up! FYI We kept the menu items, Writer's Club, Roleplaying Forums, General Chat, etc, simple because we had severe issues of confusion with the names. People understandably did not know which forums took them to which places. However, we are also attached to the old names and we are in love with the idea of meeting at inns to accomplish our various goals. So, after you make your successful navigation to the subforum of your choice, please think of each area as an inn.

HOW-TO get YOUR thread stickied!
From time to time a thread will be stickied. When this happens it means that someone has set up a Great Books discussion in advance with one of the moderators.
To get your thread stickied you need to know that only captains, vice-captains, and Bath authorized moderators can decide how long a thread can stay stickied. If there's just no interest in the thread, the thread will become unstickied after an appropriate period of time has passed. This is important because the number of member produced stickies should not exceed 1 at any given period of time.
The only reason why we should sticky is because someone has given a level of thought and study into the given work and we want to give that person and much feedback as possible. For example, if you just did your term paper on Don Quixote de La-Manche you would not like to have the possibility of having your thread die out before you've been had a chance to get your needed responces before 'Lord of The Rings" or "Pride and Prejudice" threads knocked you off the page.
There will in all liklihood be some guild sponsored stickies for very popular books, ie Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, etc. If the list of books grows too large then eventually we'll have to buy additional subforums, one for general book conversation and others for enduring threads.
We'll just have to see as we have no idea how big (if we grow at all) we'll get.
A special requests thread is being worked on and wil open shortly.

Aria The Wanderer These rules apply to everyone who wishes to stay at the inns at Bath. 1) Obey the TOS at all times. The Law of the Land comes before any laws of our community. If there's any disagreement, the TOS wins. 2) Keep it PG-13. We're having fun and ,yes, we ARE allowed to get silly at time, but be clever and use innuendo and puns and avoid blatant profanity and ludeness. By the way, it's possible to discuss sex without having to get profane. Moderators of the inns at Bath have final say as to whether or not you're violating this rule. -Avoid ad-hominems. -Absolutely NO sexual harrasment behaviors will be allowed. 3) Be polite. If a misunderstanding develops between scholars, do your best to work it out amongst yourselves. If you can't work it out, then agree to go your separate ways. Flaming and rudeness will not be tolerated. A special thanks goes out to Aria for this code of conduct. I edited it but it's mostly hers xd

How To Use The Bath Forums
At Bath we will have read-a-longs, moderated threads, free wheeling discussions, and help with home work assignments. That is saying quite a lot.
So, it goes without saying that there should be some instructions on how to use this area. Keep in mind that these instructions will evolve as time progresses.
With that being said:
The Mysterious Denmother 1. If you want to suggest a read-a-long then go to The Knights of The Round Table thread and post your choice there for discussion. 2. Eventually we will develop a thread for suggestions that you can also use to gently remind people that your subject needs attention. However, only use this for homework/ term papers and the sort. 3. Stickied threads, if they aren't specially designated homework threads (rare), will generally be ongoing moderated threads on a specific subject. For example, Defarge's Inn is an ongoing thread concerning all thing Charles Dickens.
More to follow as this forum matures...
