OKAY!! I'm going to be adding all of my poems throughout the thread to this post, so if you're looking for updates, check out this post. They'll be in the order that they were written, not neccessarily the order that they were posted.
Actually, there are a bunch of them that I don't like anymore. Sure, they were great when I wrote them, and had some kind of meaning at the time...but so much has changed, so quickly. Some of the ones I've written in the past few months mean nothing now. And I don't like them. They make me feel...traitorous to myself. To my heart. I can feel my own deceit...
Hidden Love
I try to rid my mind of you
Though it's the last thing I want to do.
Thinking of you, I just can't sleep.
It never helps me to count the sheep.
When my eyes finally shut, it seems,
You're also a part of my 'sweet dreams'.
I freeze at the mention of you name,
Not my fault, my heart's to blame.
I think of you as my best friend,
Would kill me for our friendship to end.
Soon, I'll have to tell you the truth,
I think I've fallen in love with you.
- - - - - - -
Gone
I'm sitting outside tonight,
Underneath the dim starlight.
Just staring off into space,
You are gone without a trace.
Nothing left of you for me,
Except for your memory.
It happened that winter day,
With no chance for me to say,
Good Bye.
Life taken by your own hand,
From the world you couldn't stand.
No reasons for what you chose.
So, why? Now, only God knows.
Caught up in all of the strife,
That why you ended your life?
Soon it will have been five years,
Since the day I first shed tears,
For you.

Foolish
It is foolish to feel that way that I do.
I'm not supposed to fall in love with you.
I don't know, can't figure out what I'd say,
And I doubt you'd even feel the same way.
If you did, or I were older, even then,
It doesn't matter, you are taken.
You have read your vows, said the words 'I do,'
You are married with a wife that loves you.
So, I'm stuck wishing, hoping, and dreaming
Of something that cannot, will never be.
You can never know the way I feel, then.
And I will be nothing more than your friend.
- - - - - - -
For Jon
You mean a hell of a lot
to me
I don't see how I deserve
to be
Your friend
I wish you the best on your
birthday
That I could drop by and just
say hey
Even.
But this little poem will have
to do
Until the next time I will
see you
Again.

Love?
Do you think of me while I'm away?
Do you lose sleep or does your heart ache?
Does you heart race just cause I'm around?
Are you scatter-brained, your thoughts unwound?
Are you feeling all of the above?
Just good friends, or are these signs of love?
- - - - - -
Falling
Down on my knees, God, I beg and I plead,
Give my mind the silence I desperately need.
All these thoughts, I just can't take anymore.
I've taken a plunge, now I've gone too far.
Nothing to hold me, I'm falling too fast,
Now stuck in mid-air, how long will this last?
Don't know what may have caused all of this;
What made me crazy, sparked my restlessness.
Everything built up over the years,
I can't even try to hold back the tears.
Steadily crying from my heart and my mind,
Is it me or everyone else that's blind?
Left alone to all the thoughts in my head,
Won't subside till I'm asleep in my bed.
Need someone to catch me, but it's too late,
The rest of the fall is now left to fate.

Without You
Been nearly two months since I've been with you.
Still, you're with me in everything that I do.
I've missed you so much more than you'll ever know,
Since the day you said that you had to go.
Nothing can bring such happiness to me,
'Cept thoughts of you and your memory.
I'm always trying to play and rewind,
Things we've done and said, in my mind.
Still won't keep me from going insane,
Only temporarily eases the pain.
May be days, weeks, till I see you again,
I'll be lonely and miserable till then.
Cause nothing but you can make me smile,
I'm lonely but loving you all the while.
- - - - - -
So Soon
I'm the most excited I have been,
So very soon, I'll see you again.
Tears of joy streaming down my face,
The thought just so hard to embrace.
The reality of it had begun to fade,
An oasis my mind hid in the shade.
A haven I'd taken shelter in,
That I must now discover again.
Don't know how I'll react till that day,
Or if I'll find all the words to say,
How much I've missed you all this time,
Cause it's simply more than one can define.
A longing and yearning I just can't explain,
All those feelings that initially made me insane.
An intense pain only you can heal,
Till then, with a kiss, this poem I seal.
- - - - - - -
No Turning Back
And still the thought lingers on,
Of how this relationship is wrong.
But now there's no turning back,
We love each other, and that's a fact.
Never meant for this to happen,
But I'd do it all over again.
You said all we can do now is wait,
But for what exactly? Opportunity? Fate?
- - - - - -
Destiny
A friend of mine says
We're meant to be.
But how if all of our
Choices are free?
If every little path
Or turn we take
Points us towards or
Seals our fate,
How can there be
Only one destiny?
- - - - - -
Holding On
They say I should
Move on to better things,
But nothing's better than
The happiness it brings,
To know I'm loved
And to love you, so
I'm holding onto you,
And I'll never let go.
- - - - - -
A Future?
Could my dreams ever become reality?
I don't know, though you swear you love me.
In the future, somehow, I just can't see,
How after four years, you'd still want me.
Perhaps you'll come to change your mind,
Or our love will slowly change over time.
I can't stand the thought of it happening,
But then again, who am I kidding?
I've come to terms with it, though, you see,
I don't care what happens, long as you're happy.

Stuck in This Dream
Someone please wake me up,
I suddenly fear that I am stuck,
In this world of fantasy,
Can anyone, please, help me?
Tell me it's just a nightmare,
As my heart begins to tear.
Tell me I'll wake up a few months ago,
That none of this happened, make it so.
I can't stand living in this dream,
No matter how real it may seem.
I wanna wake up to how things were,
To no more pain, loneliness, and hurt.
No telling what difference it would make,
Or how many memories it might take.
How far back in the past would it go?
Not before the love, please, God, no.
- - - - - -
On The Inside
Isn't it funny how
I can be hiding
Most of my feelings
Without even trying
Cause no one can see
what goes on in my heart
or how so many times
I've nearly fallen apart
I think I like it that way.
I can glue on a smile
and laugh all day long
Then no one can tell
That something's very wrong
It's really quite amusing
how easy this charade can be
With all the friends I have
and no one knows the real me
Maybe I like it that way.
Then there came you
and I just couldn't hide
The love I have for you
Though, at first, I tried
You warmed my heart
and let me feel
So many great things
I never knew were real
Yes, I like it that way.
But that won't make me change
my disappearing act
Now it's a part of me
Just a simple fact
I may be very stubborn
But I'm also very strong
I'll never let out the pain
I've held in for so long
It's staying that way.
Maybe one day I'll share
with someone who will care
Instead of trying to hide
The way I feel inside
Till then, I am this way.
- - - - - -
Waiting, Wanting
I'm left here, waiting
My head and heart straining.
How soon till it will end?
It's a very painful thing,
I mean, all this waiting,
But I'm stuck like this till then.
But will it even happen?
This dream that I'm trapped in,
A nightmare in reality.
This deep desire inside,
Has taken from my pride.
As lovesick as one can be.
False hopes, or wishful thinking?
Is this love truly meant to be?
Relying on fate to show me the way.
Longing and yearning is driving me crazy.
Stuck in this hope, reality now hazy.
Don't know if I'll ever be okay.

Untitled
I could never have foreseen any of this
Never expected you to change so fast
In reality, I wasn't gone all that long
I might as well have been away an eternity
Perhaps I'm reacting to this all wrong
But it's the only way that I know how
I really don't mean to act hostile towards you
But I can't seem to find any peace within me
Maybe I am jealous that you've looked beyond me
That all of a sudden I'm not good enough anymore
That you could all but replace me
But jealousy isn't the strongest emotion now
This situation of ours has been
Overwhelmingly upsetting
Though you don't realize it
You've turned your back on me
You look past me as if I'm not there
Leaving us to be with them
When I say the smallest thing wrong
You get angry and leave me to myself
I barely see you anymore
And when I do, it's just like that
Every day there's some kind of fight
And I'm left feeling guilty or upset
I don't want you to choose, cause it's not right
I have no problem with them, only how you act
Just want you to know that long after they're gone
I'll still be here, just like I vowed.

This Feeling
How do I describe such a feeling?
One that racks through my mind and body,
Causing such chaos that I can't think straight.
It comes suddenly our of nowhere,
With no reason for its destruction,
Leaving me there to pick up the pieces.
A throbbing pain that's only in my head,
As thoughts bounce around unguided,
Colliding with what they may.
Spurts of energy unleashed within me,
Waves of a new sensation, keeping me moving,
Preventing me from possibly sitting still.
It's a pressure pushing in around me,
Surrounding me with a strange emptiness,
That nothing can seem to fill.
I try my best to hide what I'm feeling,
By filling the silent torture with meaningless chatter.
Though my words gush out more rapidly than normal.
As a last resort to end my suffering,
I subject myself to a different kind of pain,
Biting down hard to lift the fog away.
This method seems to work efficiently,
Sending me to a calming bliss, like my own ecstasy,
Where I can take control of myself again.
At least for the moment...
- - - - - -
What's Wrong With Me?
Something has to be
wrong with me.
I lack a certain aspect
of empathy.
Most of the emotion is present,
but my actions don't seem to reflect
the way I feel inside.
Do I have some sort of disorder,
when it comes to showing affection?
I can say that I'm sorry,
and I truly am,
But it won't come out in physical form.
I get nervous at the thought
of giving someone a reassuring hug.
It suddenly seems awkward to say
everything will be okay.
To show you what you mean to me.
How it kills me for you to be in
such pain.
I know it's hard for you,
but I have no way of making
it any better.
- - - - - -
Just A Moment
As most nights
I fall asleep,
Finding myself in
A familiar dream.
You're there, as always
Out in the distance,
Staring back at me
As I try to figure out
Where I've seen you before.
My heart beats faster.
My blood runs cold.
Desire takes over.
My head is spinning,
As I call out to you.
Press you lips to mine.
Taste the pain and fear
You've caused me.
Wipe away my silent tears.
Let your touch calm
My restless mind.
Hold me in your arms,
Bodies pressed together tight,
Hearts and souls merging.
Once it all ends,
Numb all feeling
Left inside me.
I promise not to fight.
Drain the life in me.
It makes no difference
Anymore.
Lay me down, dying.
Do with me what you will.
There is but one request,
And I'll be yours eternally
Just give me that moment,
That of which I desire.
Let me feel like I'm
Needed.
Wanted.
Loved.
For only a moment.
Then I wake up
Realization surrounding me.
Only to once again become
Nothing.

Alone in this House
I can't stand to be here alone,
the only soul in this house.
My mind playing tricks on me,
senses fooled and failing.
I lay wrapped in a comforter,
that doesn't live up to its name.
Blankets of ice envelop me,
as the room gets colder and colder.
Can't sleep in such silence,
utterly eerie and disturbing.
Tick-tock of the clock unnerving;
creaks in the house becoming
false footsteps.
Outside sounds getting louder
in a place where movement seems to cease.
The darkness getting darker;
Eyes beginning to deceive me.
Shadows of figures forming in the black.
I lay there forever,
paranoia taking control,
until exhaustion creeps over me.

I Hate Her
I hate her.
Everything about her.
The way she looks.
Her face.
Her thick, frizzy hair.
Her body,
that she always tries to cover.
Her height; she's too short.
I hate her.
I hate her.
Her intelligence.
Her modesty and pride.
Her laugh and
sense of humor.
The way she can
Control people.
Betray them.
Yet still trusts.
Her insecurities.
I hate that people
like her, but not
usually for herself.
I hate her.
I hate her.
I hate that I love
to hate her.
I hate loving her.
I hate that you
probably didn't realize
the girl I hate so much,
IS ME.

I Don't Know Anymore
Never before has confusion,
Caused me such suffering.
No way to tell anymore
What's real and what's not.
Is this how I really feel,
or is it a farce?
I don't know anymore.
Continually eating at me.
Ever so slowly
Tearing me apart.
My heart,
Ripping at the seams.
From which
A rich crimson seeps.
I don't know anymore.
I think about it
all the time.
Can't get it out of my head.
I tell myself it's not true,
But the more I convince myself,
The more it seems a
Possibility.
I don't know anymore.
As I inhale deeply,
Pain slightly subsiding,
I know I'll never be rid
of that creeping thought.
The uncertainty of my intent.
But no one can ever know
That of which causes me,
such pain and confusion.
I don't know anymore.

A Last Decision
Everything has now fallen apart.
I look around at my choices.
Prescription bottle full of Xanax.
A loaded hunting gun in the closet.
Tons of hard alcohol for drowning sorrows.
Enough rope for my own noose.
Shining blade, razor sharp to the touch.
Upon another glance around the room,
A possibly less horrid way out:
A phone.

Will You Be There?
Speeches read to the graduating class.
Purple and gold blurs of hats being thrown.
Smiles, tears, and goodbyes blended into one.
The mark of a new beginning of our lives.
Will you be there?
An expedition set across the states.
To find a new place to call our own.
Fresh freedom and responsibilities.
Starting out in the world, all we have.
Will you be there?
A friend to share secrets and confide in.
A shoulder to cry on when times are rough.
Someone to laugh with for hours on end.
To get me through this life, my best friend.
Will you be there?
Crowds of family separated with an aisle.
A ceremony fit with a minister, rings, and vows.
Thrown bouquets, first dances, and cut cakes.
Wishes and blessings to a new marriage.
Will you be there?
Tears of joy and nine months to wait.
Hormones, mood swings, extra weight, and strange cravings.
Pink banned from baby shower decorations.
A godmother to the first of the children.
Will you be there?
A friend to share secrets and confide in.
A shoulder to cry on when times are rough.
Someone to laugh with for hours on end.
To get me through this life, my best friend.
Will you be there?
Time flying by and old age setting in.
Rocky roads, midlife crises, growing families.
[insert missing line]
[insert missing line]
Will you be there?
Donning your darkest clothes in mourning.
Sad smiles, tears, and goodbyes blended into one.
Pain and grief around the coffin, against my will.
My life story sealed with me, living on with you.
Will you be there?
So will you be there?
A life not worth living otherwise.
"Will I make it to them myself?"
Though less obvious, that's the real question,
Isn't it?

Sweet Dreams
Look closely, before I disappear,
Beyond the bloody trail of tears,
A glimpse of what you made me.
Don't you dare fall to your knees!
No use for remorse or regret,
Trust, I'll never let you forget,
This life that you have severed,
For your own sadistic pleasure.
I don't want sympathy or guilt,
This is the hand you have dealt.
Now I'm going to make you pay,
This is how and today's the day.
Stand up and be a man this time!
Look the barrel straight in the eye,
Now, confess your horrid sins to me,
For your actions sealed your destiny.
Sweet Dreams...

Standing at the Edge
And I stand here,
At the edge of the world.
Just waiting,
Ready for it all to end.
And I stand here,
My life flashing in a whirl.
Looking out,
You come to mind, my friend.
So now I sit here,
Defeated and crying,
Because once again,
You've saved me.

Roses
Light upon the horizon.
Once beautiful white roses,
Unscathed and whole, are
Now blackened from disease.
Infection is spreading
Through and through,
As contagious as
The lie upon my lips.
Toxic thorns pierce,
Shredding worn skin.
Their crimson designs
Emblaze my mind's canvas.
Dew drips like fallen tears,
Unable to quench their thirst
As once rich soil becomes
A pit of infertile sand.
Sunset sinks into twilight.
Withered petals fall gently,
Passively giving in to death.
Couldn't adapt to rapid change.

Abyssal Damnation
Please, love,
This one last time
Follow me to the edge
Give me a bitter sweet smile
As I'm condemned to this fate
And as I plunge into this
Flaming abyss
Turn away
Never
Look back again
Shed not a tear for me
That which I do not deserve
Fire consuming my flesh
Not unlike my sins
had unto my soul
Long ago
Let my memory
Deteriorate into dust
Leaving me, like a secret,
Hidden in the back of your mind
As light bleeds from the sun,
Revealing, in it's wake
What I couldn't
Walk away
- - - - - -
Untitled
Pathectically damaged,
far beyond all repair,
Gripped at the reins by
love, hope, and despair
So exhausted from trying
to appear so strong
Let me fall down and cry
like I've wanted so long
Want some feeling of comfort
that's ever so rare
To be held or hugged,
for just someone to care
Wanna run and scream
and cry but mostly
Just need someone there
to hold me closely
Just want someone out there
to notice me
Waiting for someone, anyone
to save me from
ME

And As I Fall...
Storm forever churning
Over dark waters,
This violently thrashing
Sea of affliction,
In an instant,
Fatal waters calm,
Creating a tidal
Wave of emotions
Washing over me,
Pulling me under,
Peace of mind
And heart distant
Drowning on water,
Choking on words,
Just as my lungs
Finish filling with
Sea, salt, and regret,
I'm pulled out
Into a warm embrace
To continue living,
To continue loving

MELD
THUMP.
Heavy, uneven, racing forward,
Trying to catch the preceding
THUMP.
Slowing as blood cools and thickens,
And travels closer to the deafening
THUMP.
Heat residing just as sweat's arising,
Cool breaths heaving in time with
THUMP.
Disturbed by the rumbling vibrations,
Short and raspy and lost forever in the
THUMP.
Long and steady, calming in it's warmth,
Unconsciously sweet and close and safe.
THUMP, THUMP.

Eden
I've been to pet the serpent;
I've heard its seducing hiss,
Tasted that bloody apple,
From lips of my lover's kiss.
I've trekked to the edge of Earth,
Even had the urge to leap.
My fiery soul burned out,
Fallen from grace to my knees.
Plagued-left to rot-I laid there;
Out from the darkness, you came,
Lit my eyes, lifted my spirit,
Sucked the venom from my veins.
You reattached my pieces,
Vowed never to take apart.
You gave me all of yourself;
For you, I tore out my heart.
Now, as we die together,
With all of my strength, I strive,
This one last chance, to tell you:
“I've never felt more alive.”

Untitled (as of yet)
A new moon sits, plumply,
Pasted in the sky;
It’s had it fill of horror,
The sins of you and I.
The swelling tide sweeps up,
Washing away the blood;
Salt water tears dry up,
Having purged the pain of your love.
The bright day has broken free,
From the night’s cruel clutch;
Not prisoner of the dark,
Nor numb to his touch.
The sunlight warm and blinding,
In its purity;
Ever in debt to he,
Who shared his light with me.

My Sacrifice for Eternity
It all slips right between...
My fingers
Grip this knife, unclean.
Dreams fall apart before...
My eyes
Pierce into you once more.
I refuse to lose you...
My love
Pulses, enflamed, anew.
Sliced barrier between...
Our hearts
Entwine as crimson seeps.
Now, drink me in, so sweet...
So deeply
In your soul, I retreat.
To be with you, my life...
I've given
No better sacrifice.

Our Sun
High in the sky, a sun,
Among us crescents;
Naturally strong and bold,
Your warmth fills the air;
A gleaming smile and a
Laugh ever present;
A light within, to which
No one could compare.
Thick, heavy clouds roll in,
Eclipsing the sun;
Solemn darkness fall on
Those within its reach;
Our hearts heavy with sorrow,
Staunchly, stood as one,
We offer your our hands,
Nothing, we beseech.
By your side, we stand, and
Wish you much comfort,
Strength to overcome loss
Such as no other.
Our hearts, open to help
Bind your wounds and hurt,
Your love paid back to you,
Our second mother.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I Am... Yours
I am perfect for you,
But who wants perfection?
I am too good to be true,
But not good enough to be shared.
I am the apple of your eye,
But your bite is kept out of sight.
I am a constant in your mind,
But merely a whisper upon your lips.
I am the one you shouldn't love,
But forbidden is only hidden.
I am an angel from up above,
But my soul is falling below.
I am kept in your pocket,
Out of sight and close to you heart.
I cling to your broken promises;
And I never say a word.
Now, keep what's left of my soul,
Like a secret in your throat.
I will follow you to the end,
For, above all, I am... yours.

Peace in Life and Death
God forbid one man dream for us all,
Or envision his son and yours equal;
God forbid he should make a difference,
Or say, "Solve problems without violence";
God forbid a black man have some hope,
Without a threat of lynching by rope;
God forbid someone good should exist,
And till his own death, would he persist;
Despite all your might,
He has shed his light;
upon the horizon,
Peacefully, he shines on.

Confession
I have found myself afflicted,
Torn by the talons of my mistakes;
The once warming light is fleeting,
Darkness freezing over in its place.
I have no ceased to displease you,
Steadily flooding your garden of joy;
My heart swims in tears of your anger and hurt,
Forever stained with shame and agony.
Forgive me, lover, for I have sinned,
Holding the burden of a blackened soul;
Shine your light with your beautiful smile,
Right my wrongs and make me whole.
I have taken your love for granted,
Thought I’d drink of its sweetness as I pleased,
Never doubting its endless renewal;
My spirit wailed when I saw that I was wrong.
Forgive me, lover, for I have sinned,
Sinking further with each foul deed;
Spread your warmth with a kind embrace,
Wash clean my soul, forgiven and freed.
I have pushed myself into a paradox,
Loathing myself with such intensity
As to re-ignite the fires of hell,
Whilst pleading for your love to drench me.
Forgive me, lover, for I have sinned,
Kneeling here, as unworthy as can be,
Heart and soul bleeding sorrow and remorse;
Absolve my sins so that I may forgive me.

Untitled
I sit here
In silence,
Eyes closed,
Holding my breath,
Waiting for something
To consume me;
Maybe a miracle
Or dread of the past.
Prepared to wait
Forever.
This sensation is
Overwhelming
Throat seems to close
Lump threatening to
Overcome
Lungs burn;
Devoid of air.
Not even tears
Can water this
Scorched earth.
Vital flesh
Withers away.
Dry, cracked, unwhole
Draining what remains
Of the love required
For its survival
Waiting to either
Burst into flame
Or grow with
Your return.
Time no longer
Exists, though
Here I am,
Holding my breath.
On the edge
Of a very fine line,
Ready to tip
Toward either side.
Prepared to wait
For you forever.

In An Instant
Words flashed
Like lightning
And all was silent.
Sharp words so thick,
They stopped up her ears
Filled with blood from
The venom and the shock
Of the words that
Left her thunderstruck.
As the wind and
The rain pelted her,
Frozen in place,
She took in one last
Frigid gasp and watched
As the glow of the
Wrathful sky faded
Rapidly into shadows
So black that they
Swallowed her whole.
Trapped in utter
Silence and darkness,
She felt nothing.
A single, blazing thought
Licked at her soul:
This must be death.
- - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - -
Just Nature
She began a vibrant and thriving leaf,
Light and carefree in the cool spring breeze,
Under cover, out of the blistering sun,
Always surrounded by friends, full of life;
From the shadows of safety, she was thrust;
And amid this new light, she found her prince.
Within her, she discovered unfamiliar sensations,
Sweet as nectar, sweltering as flame
This fresh passion never seemed to waver
Then one day, her prince left, and in his place
Grew a hole, wilted around the edges,
As if a caterpillar had eaten her alive.
Over time, she healed almost completely;
However, she couldn’t slip back into the dark.
She turned orange and red and grew brittle;
The breeze returned suddenly, and with it, her prince.
She clung to him, savored their time together;
She trusted him and all of his promises.
Violently, and suddenly as he’d appeared…
He had vanished again, forever.
Crisp and dark, there would be no hole this time;
Instead, snow fell, and she tried to hang on.
Alas, weak and hurt as she had grown,
She simply floated from her branch to the ground.
There, she slowly crumbled into pieces.

Wings
The angel sings of missing wings,
awaiting her chance to fly;
she always clings to painful things,
like memories that make her cry.
Then he appears and wipes her tears;
her delight she can't deny.
He soothes her fears and vows her years;
now winged they soar in the sky.

Whispers
The whispers are haunting;
the lies ever daunting.
"She's beautiful, an angel,
flawless," is what they said.
Her eyes red from tears,
and the whispers in her ears.
The truth held its place in her head.

Oh Angel!
Oh misfortunate one! Oh toughened child!
Your innocence stolen so early,
Your distant sky forever filled
With fire and destruction.
Your bright eyes bleed sights
No child should ever witness.
Oh faithful one! Oh steel will!
Your courage and honor,
Your faith in love and angels
Endlessly awe others;
Yet your faith in yourself,
In your heart, is lacking.
Oh disheartened one! Oh troubled soul!
No such burning yearning
For a desire so pure and good
Has anyone ever encountered,
As which lies seemingly dormant,
Unreachable in your mind.
Oh sweet boy! Oh winged savior!
Doubt not what’s on your back,
Nor what others fail to see.
Quiet your soul; close your eyes,
Within your thoughts, within your heart,
Within your actions, feel your wings.
